Returning to my dorm, I was caught by a slight wave of emotion. I would only be spending two more days here before I would be graduating.
I decided that I would treat them to a true meal the next day to say goodbye. After all, it would be my last full day in the academy tomorrow. As there would be no need to stick around once the final exam had been completed.
Even their snoring was a little sweet as I went to bed.
The next day had another early exam. Since it was another physical exam, I felt no problems with finishing early.
It was only the sparring with the instructors that I couldn't finish earlier.
Thus I didn't have too much time in the spirit world If I wanted to treat the boys.
Fortunately, all of the timers had finished by the end of the exam. So I could immediately start another two years.
After putting the new elite teachers inside. I could finally have a full second year. While I still didn't have enough to fill the eighty-people cap. It was getting closer and closer with each passing day.
Now that it was in sight, I did want to save for it. After all my last full year awarded me an Elite Teacher. I could only hope that the second year would reward me with a profound one.
With only being able to deposit two Rank 4 cores. It was a little more risky getting an elite teacher. But until I had two full years of Elite Teachers. It had to be done.
[Elite Teacher Roach,
Speciality: Healing(Light),
Secondary Skills: Mass Healing,
Teaching Ability: High]
It seemed that my luck had turned to Healing teachers as well. Putting Elite teacher Roach left only one more spot to be filled in the second-year academy.
That did leave me without another teacher to replace the spot Douglas was in. It had been a few days since I had seen the man. So I was a little curious about what he had been doing
Calling him back, I wanted to see what his opinion was about being permanently summoned.
I couldn't assume because Harold had wanted to be summoned, that everyone else would be the same.
He too seemed more than happy about the chance of sticking around in the spirit realm.
He wasn't quite as easy to please as Harold, as his loyalty was below 90. It wasn't at a point where I was worried. But it seemed that the higher ranked the teacher, the harder it was to keep them happy.
Stolen novel; please report.
I had thoughts of taking out a teacher from the academies to put in his place.
I had more than enough Aura teachers to not worry about taking one of them out. But I wasn't sure if that was what would be needed. A 6-star crafter would be able to make a huge difference anywhere in the spirit world.
The graduating classes were once again of a high quality. But this time around I didn't start another second year. If I waited another day, I would have just enough to get a full year in the academy.
By that point, I would hope that I could get a profound teacher.
Getting a powerhouse like that on my side in the spirit realm would make me feel a lot better about everything.
I had asked Douglas to focus on finding high-ranking cores. But he didn't seem too optimistic about finding any value.
What he could offer was several of the dark cores he had taken from the dread beasts. It had been something I hadn't thought of trying to use before.
Holding the core of one of the Warrior Dread Beasts, which was about equal to a Rank 5 Core. My gift didn't react. While there was a limit of natural cores. The same couldn't be said for the dark cores.
If they worked then things would become a lot more simple going forward.
Unfortunately, I had used up my deposits for the day. So I would have to wait until the next day to find out for sure.
After imbuing the few Eddie had picked out. I returned to the real world.
I had messaged the others to not head out for dinner as I was going to treat them. So they were all dressed up and ready for us to head to one of the nearby restaurants.
While my parents had yet to sell the core I had given them. I wasn't worried about money anymore. I burned through my entire savings treating my roommates and the few other friends I had invited.
Enjoying my last night in the academy made it feel worthwhile. I didn't think I would have another chance like this again.
With my earnings already in the spirit world. There was little need in heading for further education. I wouldn't have a moment like this again.
Going to sleep that night was bittersweet.
The next morning, we all had breakfast together. After saying our goodbyes and promises to meet up again soon. I went for the final exam.
There wasn't much they could throw at me that would be an issue. With that, the final exam went by with ease.
While I couldn't be a hundred per cent sure. I knew with some measure of confidence that I had done far better in these exams than any of my teachers expected.
I could walk out of the school with my head held high.
It was far from how I expected my school years to finish. But I couldn't complain. I had been given a life-changing gift and opportunity.
I would be focusing all of my efforts on the spirit world.
While I hadn't asked the teachers directly. I could tell that Eddie and the others were more than a little concerned about the progress.
Eddie at least certainly didn't think he would survive. Even with my additions.
I had asked him a few questions. While he had defaulted to his oath for much of it. He did know of a prophecy that had foretold the end.
He had quickly shut up about it afterwards. But I had to assume that the central Empires did have some idea about what was going on.
It didn't look like they were doing anything. But I had a limited perspective.
I had been stuck to Darkview for the past week. With my abilities, I would now have no problem dealing with some of the dread beasts. Thus I could be a little more confident about travelling around.
I had quite a few plans. But first I had to get home.
I was a little surprised to find my whole family waiting for me when I got back.
My parents should have been at work, and my siblings should have been in school.
But there they were in front of me with a small cake. Celebrating my graduation.
It was a wonderful evening with my family.
