Chapter 17

I couldn't believe my eyes. While the variable loyalty rating was a little concerning. Having Harold incarnate permanently seemed like a great deal.

I went to Douglas's information page to see if there was any difference between him and Harold.

[1/5][Permanently Summon]

It took me a second to think of what the numbers might mean. Douglas had been summoned for more than a day.

The only thing I had done once with Elite Teachers was have a graduating second year. It may mean something else. But for the moment, that was my best guess.

The chance of being able to permanently summon the teachers was an incredible power.

By the time I had finished exploring the summoning menu, Harold knocked on the door of the room.

Coming in he gave a slight bow.

"Harold, how would you feel if I permanently summoned you to this world?"

While I wasn't sure of his answer. I didn't want to chain him to a place he didn't want to be.

He gave another slight bow in turn.

"It would be the highest honour Headmaster."

Harold seemed to take it very seriously. I wasn't entirely sure how significant it was. But it had to be somewhat of a big deal.

With him in front of me. I selected to permanently summon him. A slight glow came from the tablet. Before a smile appeared on his face.

Most of the options disappeared. The new Loyalty option was more than clear.

[Loyalty][92/100(Deeply Loyal)]

I was more than happy with that being the starting point of loyalty. It didn't seem like he would be betraying me any time soon.

"Thank you, Sir. Do you have any orders or shall I continue to prepare the city?"

With him taking it better than I was expecting, I had nothing else to say to the man.

I was even more confused when the loyalty went up once I bade him farewell.

[Loyalty][94/100(Deeply Loyal)]

It seemed that I would have to understand the new system a little more.

Harold's change allowed for another summoning slot to be opened up. Which left me with a choice of what to do.

While Randall would be a great teacher. He would also be a powerful summon. With the second-year class in full swing. I wasn't able to take out any of the other teachers for the moment.

I could gamble on the common teachers once again.

While Randall would be a powerful aide. I wasn't sure if a 5-star crafter would be of greater use to the defensive effort. Or even a 5-star healer.

While I wasn't sure if I would be having second-year classes every day. I knew that there would be a consistent graduation of the first years. Allowing me to permanently summon any of the common teachers within five days.

Randall would also only be at the same level of power as Douglas. It was a hard choice. But his potential as a teacher was simply too high for me to summon him.

I decided to gamble on the common teacher to see if they would be effective.

[Teacher Wilson,

Speciality: Mana (Power),

Teaching Ability: Low]

While he wouldn't be a powerhouse on the same level as Randall. Having a Grand Mage around would still be very handy. Plus being able to summon him permanently in a few days was too much of an opportunity to pass up.

With another flash of light. Teacher Wilson appeared in front of me.

She was an older woman with an aura of maturity around her. A stark difference between Harold and Douglas.

I was a little surprised that she had such a low teaching ability.

"Greetings Headmaster, It is an honour to be of service. How may I assist you?"

That I wasn't too sure about, I didn't have much information about what the others were doing day to day.

"There is no need to act hastily. Observe over the next few hours and see where you will be of greatest assistance."

She gave a brief nod at that before turning heel and walking out of the room.

It seemed that she would be a lot more serious than Harold and Douglas as well. Not that I had been able to joke around with them.

While I wasn't sure who or what they were before. They all seemed to lack any personality of note. I didn't know if that would change with Harold now that he was stuck in the spirit world.

With Wilson now around, I was even less inclined to leave the room. I had done everything I could for the moment and had managed to avoid Eddie. In a few hours, I should have a few more students to imbue. For now, there wasn't anything I could do to change things.

My roommates were asleep by the time I made it back to the dorm. It took a little longer to get to sleep with the others snoring nearby. But soon I was out cold. Dreams of an army of Teachers keeping me company.

Without having to worry about classes. I awoke to an empty dorm. After a brief stretch and some light exercise. I opened up my tablet.

The timers still had a few minutes left on them both, but they were coming close to the end.

I spent the time exploring the other menus. To see if there was anything else that I had missed. I couldn't find anything before the timers were finished.

[Congratulations. Thirty-eight students have passed the year and graduated from their first year.]

It seemed that putting in Elite teachers did truly make a difference to the quality of the students.

There were three Knights now on the first-year graduation list. I had only used one aura-inclined class. So I was more than a little surprised with those results.

It seemed that it was a talented year.

There were once again two 3 star alchemists along with two mages.

There were close to twenty mana adepts alone in the class. So I was more than happy with the results.

That made me turn my head towards the second-year class. I was more than a little curious to see how it had done.

[Congratulations. Twenty-two students have passed the year and graduated from their second year.]

That was a massive change from the previous second year.

While only four mages had graduated, with no High Mages this time around. Over fifteen Aura students had passed the second year. With three of them being High Knights.

Having the three elite teachers in place truly did make a difference. There was also a 4-star forger. It seemed that Jayson's talent had allowed him to continue.

He hadn't managed to reach the heights of a High Knight, however.

I was more than happy with the results of the second year. With the second-year graduates being worth two APs. I had earned close to eighty APs with the two classes alone. It seemed that they would be sustainable even if I didn't have any more cores.

I wouldn't have much time to spend in the spirit world before my next exams, so I was focused on depositing the cores.

With only one Rank 5 core left, I could only earn 600 AP from the two cores.

That still left me enough to afford two more elite teachers. I had drawn an aura class, so I only had to spend 30 AP to get the classes for the day.

[Elite Teacher Sandoval,

Speciality: Crafting(Enchanting, Alchemy),

Secondary Skills: Runic Tattoos,

Teaching Ability: High]

The first elite teacher was another high-class teacher, that I immediately placed into one of the second-year slots.

I knew that Runic Tattoos were a powerful magic of some tribes of the spirit world. A mixture of alchemy and enchanting to use the blood of monsters to empower the body. I was interested to see how it would be taught.

After all, there weren't many students with high-level skills in both enchanting and alchemy.

[Elite Teacher Preston,

Speciality: Crafting(Alchemy),

Secondary Skills: Herbology,

Teaching Ability: Adequate]

Another crafting teacher. Which now had two of my second-year academies full. I had yet to even get a single elite healing teacher thus far.

With them in place, I was quick to start the next batch of the first and second years. Now with a full batch of students for three of the Academies.

My free teacher was another Mana Teacher with low teaching ability. So I immediately put them in the draw.

With all of that done, I only had a few minutes to head for the exam hall. Since it was my first physical exam I decided to imbue one of the High Knights.

I decided to choose the least talented one.

[High Knight Abbot:

Skills: Pure Aura Core, Bronze Skin, Heavy Slash]

It seemed that he hadn't learned much after his first year. Only focusing on improving his core. The other two High Knights had several more skills. I felt confident enough to choose him.

I had chosen to imbue in the spirit world for a reason. I was becoming a little addicted to the feeling of the newfound power rushing through my veins.

Unfortunately, I didn't have too much time to revel in it before I had to head off for my next exam.
