“Did she just…?”
Someone murmured before a boisterous voice echoed across the class.
“Class is now starting! Focus up people! We’ll be starting with progress reports from those undertaking the tutorial. Afterwards! Discussion about core fundamentals of formation use for each class archetype… Then!...”
The professor’s voice continued to ring out clearly. Due to the volume of his voice, a particular individual stirred awake in a daze.
“Huh…”
Jun rubbed his eyes and looked around. He paused the moment he saw Myra sitting only a fingers length away.
“What are you doing?”
He whispered to avoid disturbing the class lecture.
“You said it yourself. I should do what I want and be my own person. I’m doing what I want.”
Myra replied in a curt tone, but this only caused more confusion for the poor boy.
“What’s with your clothes.”
Myra felt Jun’s eyes crawl across her, causing her heart to experience a moment of weightlessness.
“Stop staring at me…”
She responded meekly, but Jun simply scoffed in response.
“If you don’t want people to stare at you then why wear such revealing clothes.”
He retorted before glancing back towards the professor, who was currently clarifying the tutorial rankings and mission system for those who still hadn’t figured it out.
Beside him, Myra frowned while looking away.
For some unexplainable reason, she suddenly felt incredibly self-conscious. She responded in a low voice, almost too low for even Jun to hear.
“Because I thought you liked seeing me in shorts…”
Jun mentally facepalmed once he connected the dots.
His time around Myra was mostly for training, while the rest of his time was spent in the tutorial. The problem was that her training outfit consisted of skin-tight shorts with a matching exercise bra, which resulted in that becoming her daily attire.
Jun began to seriously consider whether it was worth the effort to clarify the misunderstanding, or to simply let things be.
This isn’t worth my time; sleep is more important.
At the same time, the professor caught the rare sight of an awake Jun. He beamed proudly and continued to explain the mission point system with greater enthusiasm.
“The higher rank the mission is, the more points you’ll get. Keep in mind that the missions will have a suggested party count, which is an indicator of the mission’s difficulty. If you complete the mission with fewer numbers, then you’ll garner more points.”
He drew the different ranks from F to A on the board.
“Conversely, if you complete the mission with more numbers then there’ll be even less points. There’s one last thing I should mention… and that’s raids! If your mission is considered to be a raid, then you’ll receive double the points. Of course, raids can take an incredibly long time—even days. So be careful in choosing your missions as raids tend to be less point efficient!”
He flashed an expectant smile as he began to make eye contact with students across the room. However, his smile only lasted briefly once he looked towards a particular student, whom of which already nestled his head comfortably within his arms.
What’s with this kid! Are my lectures really that boring? And why is Myra sitting so close to him? What’s with her outfit? Don’t tell me… are they together?
The professor cleared his thoughts of nonsense, but not before making a silent prayer for the poor boy who was clearly in over his head.
No one could possibly handle that entitled demoness.
Not even a minute passed before Jun stirred awake with a subtle frown. The only person to notice this change was Myra, who was physically too close for comfort.
“Is something wrong?”
Myra whispered under her breath, causing Jun to give her a sideways glance.
“No, I’m just going to take a walk. Also…”
Jun looked towards Hina’s direction, but what caught his eye was the empty seat beside her.
“Have you seen Chi?”
Myra reluctantly looked towards Hina as well before finally realizing that Little Chi was nowhere in sight. She knew firsthand that this was quite possibly the only time that Little Chi wasn’t an arm’s length away from her master.
“I haven’t.”
She turned away with a pout, but not before noticing the look of discomfort written all over Hina’s face. Clearly, the icy woman was bothered that her loyal maid was missing.
Jun stood up from his seat and silently left the classroom.
Due to the professor being wholly engrossed in his lecture, the only person to notice his departure was Myra who continued grumbling quietly to herself.
Once outside the class, Jun casually roamed the hallway, which was eerily empty. While the halls themselves were silent, Jun’s mind was filled with the chaotic cries and desperate pleas of a distressed girl.

Please! Someone! I don’t want this… Not like this. Hina!
“Humm… hmm.. hmmm…”
Jun softly hummed a little tune as his thoughts gradually became colder.
No, no, no! What can I do? Why is it like this?
While the screams and cries of that particular soul were especially loud, there was another to accompany her.
This lowly bitch. How dare she reject me? Me?! I’m a Donatelli! Not happening, not a chance.
Jun pulled up his hood and erased the echo of his footsteps.
I’m going to ruin this bitch. Her face, her body, her future. If I can’t have her, then I’ll make her wish she was never born.
Jun’s eyes flashed a frosty light, and his peaceful humming could no longer be heard.
Stop fighting back! Ugh, good thing I paid off security. I didn’t think this would happen, but I prepared nonetheless. No cameras, no bodyguards, no one to save you.
A few moments later, Jun arrived in front of a door.
The rising sun shone through the windows behind him, casting his shadow over the door’s surface. Without any hesitation, he opened it with a creak.
“Who the fuck?”
The sun’s rays illuminated the small room, which appeared to be a utility closet of sorts. Hidden within the shadows, a shirtless young man with curly black hair glared at the entrance with squinted eyes.
“Ugh, interruptions.”
He viciously swung his fist down at the body beneath him. A muted but painful cry responded, followed by small whimpers.
Only a delicate pair of feet could be seen poking out from behind the pile of stacked boxes.
The young man stood up menacingly, eying the silhouette that stood in the entryway. Due to the bright sunlight, it was impossible to distinguish who his guest was.
“Do you know who I am? Huh??”
He took a few steps forward, entering the light. Jun could see blood dripping down from his knuckles, along with numerous scratch marks on his arms.
“You’re dead, you know that? I was just about to finally taste her too. This day just keeps getting worse. Hey, I’m talking to you!”
Jun lazily scanned the man up and down before responding.
“Rubeous Donatelli. The young prodigy of the Donatelli family. Grandson of Seamus Donatelli, a council member of the world court. I know who you are.”
Rubeous grinned hideously once he heard Jun’s voice. At the same time, two wildly different thoughts could be heard.
Great, now that he knows who I am, it should be easy to send him away. I can take care of him later once I get his name.
Simultaneously, the other person in the room sank further into despair.
A man’s voice… it’s not Hina. I’m going to die here. I’m so sorry Hina.
“Look pal, I’m finishing up with my girlfriend here. Why don’t you take a hike? Leave me your name and I’ll remember this favor.”
Jun’s mouth formed a small smile while his eyes glinted dangerously beneath his hood. Unfortunately, Rubeous was unable to identify the immediate danger he was in as he was fully confident everything would go his way.
“Do you know what the problem with society is?”
Jun muttered while stepping forward, causing Rubeous to frown and narrow his brow. Unconsciously, the young man flexed his muscles as if he were preparing for a fight.
“You sure you want to do this? I don’t care even if you were the son of the legendary Maelstrom himself; your backing won’t be able to save you.”
Jun took another step forward, officially triggering Rubeous’ instincts to fight.
“I warned you…”
Rubeous lunged forward, swiftly closing the gap between them. His arm ferociously swung wide while his lips unconsciously curled into sneer.
The air powerfully swooshed, but the satisfying impact Rubeous had expected never came. Instead, a cold chill ran up his spine as he felt a presence behind him.
A delicate hand wrapped around his neck like a snake, pinching his trachea with an uncanny level of strength. For the first time in his privileged life, Rubeous felt a profound level of fear. The man wheezed in a quick breath of air as his body went still.
A small whisper sounded next to his ear.
“Animals like you. Do the world a favor and kill yourself when you get the chance.”
Thok!
With a swift crack to his head, Rubeous crumpled to the floor like a sack of meat.
Well, I can’t really kill him. If I did then it would probably implicate this dumb girl.
Jun turned around and stood before the stacked boxes that hid the girl. A series of whimpers could be heard as she feared for the worst.
He should have ran… He should have ran… He should have…
Her thoughts spiraled endlessly like a broken record the moment she heard the fight end so quickly. From her perspective, who could defy Rubeous Donatelli?
Whether physical prowess, status, or backing—Rubeous was a man who had it all.
Jun paid her thoughts no heed and shifted the boxes to the side, discovering the battered and beaten form of Little Chi. Blood smoothly ran down her face, while the majority of her clothes were ripped in sensitive locations.
Her fingers were bent in odd shapes. They were clearly broken. Upon a closer look, Jun could make out dried blood beneath her fingernails, likely from Rubeous’ arms.
Around Little Chi’s neck was a glowing emerald pendant with intricate patterns etched into the sides.
Interesting, this is a silencing talisman. No wonder she could barely make any noises… Best leave it on for now.
Jun closed the distance and inspected Little Chi from top to bottom. That’s when he noticed something peculiar. Two prominent streams of blood were pouring from her eyes.
He gouged out her eyes… was he really planning to kill her here?
Jun glanced back towards the unconscious man before shaking his head. He placed a steady hand on her chest. She grasped, dragging her body away like a startled and broken rabbit.
“Rubeous won’t bother you anymore. You’re safe now.”
The moment Little Chi heard his voice, all of the adrenaline coursing through her body disappeared. Her frightened expression transformed into one of sorrow.
Soon, hiccupping sobs emanated outward, which were still being heavily muffled by the silencing talisman around her neck. Jun patiently waited in front of her as he contemplated his next course of action.
The easiest thing to do would be to call either Amon or Hina. I could also call Myra. Hmm… calling Hina would likely start a war between Luo and Donatelli. Calling Myra has uncertain results… Amon is my best choice.
Jun swiftly contacted Amon, only telling him his location and to keep quiet. At the same time, he sat next to Little Chi’s broken form and carefully pulled her body into his embrace.
With so much happening in such a short little time, Little Chi’s mind was too full of chaos to process Jun’s actions. However, in the same moment her thoughts disappeared entirely.
I will find you…
Even if the sky falls down…
I’ll be around…
Jun’s honeyed singing soothed her heart like a warm fur coat in a winter storm. Little Chi instinctively pushed her body closer to the young boy, and for the first time in a long time she was at peace.
Minutes later, a hulking man stood at the door’s entrance.
“Come on in Piggy. Have your knife on you? Give it here.”
Jun called out to his friend while stroking Little Chi’s hair. She had long passed out in his arms, which was for the best.
Amon ambled his way past Rubeous’ body before arriving in front of Jun.
“Yo, what happened here. Isn’t that Rubeous Donatelli?”
“Yea. This girl is hurt pretty bad. Get her some care but keep it out of public eye. Be careful when handling her, she has a few broken parts.”
Amon turned his attention back toward Jun, when he noticed Little Chi resting calming in his embrace. He procured a small blade, which he placed on the floor while curiously looking at the sleeping girl.
“That’s Little Chi, the one that follows Miss Luo.”
Jun lifted Little Chi off the ground in a princess hold before handing her off to Amon in a similar fashion.
“Stop talking so much and shoo. You’ll want no part of what happens next.”
Amon shook his head before glancing at Rubeous’ crumpled form with pity. Just as he was walking out of the door, Jun called to him from behind.
“Don’t worry about cameras, this idiot shut them off for the day. Just close the door behind you and get her taken care of.”
Jun watched Amon disappear from the doorway, which was then sealed shut, removing almost all light from the room. An insidious smile crept onto Jun’s face as he curled his lips in thought.
“Now… what to do with you.”
