“Wonderful!”
Jun exclaimed with bright eyes as he shook her hand.
“I do love to see progress in other people. I’m going to enjoy this.”
This can also be considered payback for all the threats you made about me!
Jun soon waltzed away. He needed to get back to the PSI World tutorial after all.
“Bennon and Ciena, please make sure she’s well taken care of. Ciena will dictate her training regimen. Do keep in mind that she’s a delicate little princess… so you’ll need to be that much more harsh on her.”
Myra’s eyes widened after hearing his last statement. She felt a cold chill the moment Ciena cast a gaze in her direction.
“Try your hardest, Myra! For your own sake.”
He then ditched Myra to face her demise at the hands of his trustworthy attendants.
Jun didn’t waste time and swiftly made his way to his own room, which appeared to have been tidied up during the short time he was away.
“Tsk. Ciena is so reliable and thorough.”
He closed the door but didn’t bother locking it.
Both Bennon and Ciena had full access to every room, whereas Myra would be under constant supervision and stress. Regardless, none of the three had any reason to be malicious towards him.
He hopped onto his bed, which was piled high with a mountain of pillows, and retrieved his system token.
“Ah hell…”
He palmed his forehead the moment he remembered something crucial.
“I forgot about that… that stupid dress.”
He mumbled under his breath before activating the device, causing his body to immediately still. His soul transmitted back into the tutorial.
His eyes opened to a familiar scene. A world of white that seemed to stretch on endlessly in every direction.
“Welcome back, user Xin Sugo.”
The system’s voice called out to him.
“I have to ask again, is there any way I can change my clothes?”
He frowned as he looked down at his long and free-flowing black dress.
“Once you enter the tutorial city you may purchase new equipment to assist you on your adventures. This new equipment will cost credit points. Do you wish to continue the tutorial?”
Jun let out a sigh.
At this point, there was nothing else he could do except carry onward. He knew that this situation could have easily been avoided if he hadn’t slept through all of his classes, or at the very least if he had looked up some beginner information on PSI World.
Who was that famous guy again? The father of PSI World?
“Alright, I’m ready.”
His body dissipated into white particles the moment he acknowledged. It was enthralling, watching his hands disappear into thin air. He closed his eyes as if to imprint the scene into his memories.
The surreal moment only lasted a short while.
It’s a bit chilly…
Even with his eyes closed, Jun knew he was in a new environment because he could feel the wind brushing against body.
He curled his toes inward and felt the crumbling dirt beneath his feet. Natural elements were something that the white space had lacked entirely.
“So we have another girl as our final teammate?”
A loud male voice called out from in front, causing Jun to open his eyes.
The young man before him was dressed from head to toe in mail armor with metal plating covering his important areas. Additionally, a longsword could be seen strapped to his side.
The man had an amused look on his face as his eyes wandered up and down Jun’s body, giving the latter the chills.
“Wow, she’s really pretty.”
Another boy called out next, but his voice was much more timid in comparison.
His build was smaller and he looked unreliable at best should a fight break out. It was all too easy to compare the second boy with the other because they were standing right next to each other.
His outfit was made out of layers of cloth and he held a small club in his hand. At a glance, his appearance was somewhat comical, but his redeeming quality was the fact that his eyes didn’t roam like the first boy.
Am I really that feminine?! Ugh, they already assumed I’m a girl. I think in cases like this, I should just stay quiet. I’d rather not deal with the headache of having to explain the situation. Plus, I’m already stuck in this dress no matter what I say.
Jun let out a quiet sigh before casting his vision towards the last person of the group. She was tall for a girl as she was almost the same height as the young man in armor.
Her body was garbed in light leather, and her hand firmly gripped a short sword. Similarly to the man in armor, her eyes couldn’t keep to herself as they scoured Jun’s body as if to devour him whole.
She didn’t know why, but she couldn’t help feasting on the newcomer’s appearance, causing her to repeatedly doubt her own preferences. After a mental scolding, she shook her head and spoke up.
“Hello, now that you’re here, our party is complete and we can begin the tutorial. Um… if I make ask, do you fight with your hands?”
She gestured towards the sword in her hand.
It seems I’ve messed up greatly.
Jun shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. Seeing this, the girl spoke up again but this time to the other two people.
“It seems she was sent in here without any information from her family. Well, the damage is already done and we’ll just have to work together. The first mission isn’t a big deal anyway and is just to gain initial exposure before your class selection. That’s why it’s informally called Mission Zero.”
Hearing this, the two boys nodded before walking away. It seemed that they would form the front of the party, while Jun and the girl would be in the back.
She made her way towards Jun and talked quietly as they trailed behind the other party members.
“Part of your unofficial class selection is when the system asks what you want as starting equipment. Most people have a predisposition on what they’d like to wear into battle. That’s how I have this short sword, and that’s how they have the gear that they have.”
Jun’s eyes lit up after hearing this and he mentally facepalmed. He had no thoughts of combat when he was prompted for clothes, he had even thought of a dress.
“Still, it’s not unheard of for people to show up wearing unorthodox clothing such as yourself. Normally this happens from merchant groups though…”
Her voice trailed off somewhat as they came across their first challenge.
“Climb the tree and retrieve some fruit to eat before proceeding.”
The timid boy read out loud from a signboard that was posted into the dirt. Afterwards, both he and the other boy immediately started scaling the tree to retrieve some fruit.
You’re kidding, in this dress? No chance I’m doing that.
Jun frowned as he contemplated what to do. One had to remember that he didn’t even have underpants!
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
His blatant refusal didn’t escape the girl’s attention.
“Ah! Don’t worry, you don’t actually have to climb the tree, but now you can see why your clothes are a little… unusual.”
Jun sighed in relief but soon pondered.
What happens if you don’t do what the sign says? How is this Mission Zero being graded? Is there even a grade?
“What, you’re not going to go get some fruit?”
An obnoxious voice, belonging to the armored man, called out to Jun. The two men had just returned from their ascent and were casually munching on a blue colored fruit.
“At least keep your indecency to yourself. She’ll be staying here and I’ll get her some fruit myself.”
The girl reprimanded the man before nimbly scaling the tree. His only response was the smirk plastered over his face. While this exchange was happening, the smaller boy stepped closer to Jun as he ate his fruit.
“You’re lucky there’s very little of anything in Mission Zero. The whole purpose of this starter mission is to give a large overview of many things that could be found in the tutorial missions. Gathering is one of them.”
Jun nodded as he listened to the boy. He had no idea what the scholarly boy was thinking, but it seemed like he had mistaken Jun to be equally as timid due to his silence.
“The only goal for passing Mission Zero is to make it across a river that’s found in the forest. We just continue following this trail. There’ll be some gathering, some scouting, and maybe some combat. However, everything is either optional or very easy. So don’t worry too much.”
At this moment, the girl returned with the fruit secured. She tossed a familiar blue ball at Jun before standing by his side.
“Here you go!”
She smiled happily when Jun took a bite into the juicy fruit.
“First mission down. Let’s carry on, my friends are waiting for me to finish this.”
The armored man said in a loud and bored toned as he stalked off deeper into the forest. The rest of the group followed behind him.
I don’t know what’s worse; being mistaken as a girl, or wearing this dress? They’re both equally bad. I can’t wait until I get to the tutorial city so that I can finally change out of this accursed thing.
It didn’t take long for the group to come across their next mission.
“Build a fire for the cold and wet baby turtle.”
The timid boy once again read out loud from a signpost. At the foot of the post was a small turtle that seemed to be shaking on its four legs.
Don’t turtles live near water? Do turtles even get cold? How confusing…
“How is the turtle wet if there’s no water nearby?”
The larger man snorted as he nudged the baby turtle with his plated boot.
“It’s Mission Zero, nothing makes sense in Mission Zero. Leave the turtle alone and help build a fire.”
The girl felt a strong urge to slap the man when she saw the turtle shrink its neck back in fear.
“You should help build a fire too. Although you can skip almost all the tasks in Mission Zero, you still accumulate merit points for doing the tasks. It’s some of the easiest merit points you’ll ever acquire in PSI World.”
Jun nodded the moment he heard this and got to work. He collected some various twigs and dry leaves before piling them up. Then he used a long stick and drew a simple formation around the pile.
The rest of the party watched in shock the moment Jun began his humble masterpiece.
“I didn’t realize you were a formation apprentice. No wonder you showed up in a dress…”
The timid boy commented as he watched intently on the diagram being created before him. He hadn’t said anything about it to the group, but formations were his primary craft.
When the system asked him what he’d like to wear, he immediately thought of his normal scholarly outfit that he wore during his studies. Additionally, he imagined himself wielding the same piece of wood that his professor often waved around.
Thus, although it may seem odd to others, his outfit was perfect for himself, mostly because he never intended to be involved too much with direct combat.
Jun spent a matter of seconds creating a simple heat intensifying formation. It could be considered record speed according to the real formation apprentice of the group.
“Wow… there’s even a little flair in his diagram to indicate the wood nature. A-And look over there! That’s a limiter on the maximum heat output. Oh and this part is…”
The boy’s timid appearance evaporated the moment the twigs caught fire.
He quickly became overly excited over something seemingly so simple. The other two members were shocked by his sudden transformation.
Meanwhile, the turtle happily sauntered over by the fire and fell flat on it’s stomach. It’s four legs were sprawled out to the sides and it’s tiny tail shifted from side to side.
“It looks like our job here is done. Hey, stop freaking out over a dumb drawing. I’ve got places to be so let’s get moving.”
The armored man frowned before walking away again.
Jun gently stroked the top of the turtle’s head with a finger before following after, leaving the girl to pry the enthusiastic boy away from the basic level formation.
Looks like making the formation was a bad idea…
Jun thought to himself. He had bad premonition for the rest of the journey to come, and he was correct in thinking so.
----------------------------------------
“I’m telling you, that was a master level drawing! Hey little girl, can you please, please tell me where you learned to make formations?”
“Leave her alone! Can’t you see that you’re annoying her with all of your questions?”
Thank heavens this girl is here with me.
Jun had been dealing with the incessant prattling of his new devout follower ever since he made the fire. They came across many signposts that detailed other small missions and simple tasks for the group to do, but Jun never acted again.
It’s best to just keep my head down and get out of here as soon as possible. If I can at least find some pants then I’ll feel much more comfortable to let loose.
At the start of Mission Zero, the armored man was without a doubt the lead of the group.
However, with the girl’s overprotectiveness and the smaller boy’s desperate thirst for knowledge, Jun somehow became the new leader. This was all without saying a single word!
Whenever he walked in a direction, the other two followed. Whenever he stopped to ponder over anything, the other two stopped with him. This caused the obnoxious and arrogant man to become frustrated, eventually fuming silently to himself.
After a few hours of adventure, the sound of rushing water entered the ears of the group. A wave of relief washed over Jun that very moment.
He could already taste freedom from being trapped in the confines of the dress.
“We’re almost done with Mission Zero. It’s a pity that you didn’t collect many merit points while you had the chance, but don’t worry, there’ll be many opportunities in the fortune.”
The tall girl smiled sweetly at Jun as they casually made their way towards the river.
“Ahh! Please stay in contact with me after this mission is over! My username is Terranford Morbol! Please, please keep an eye out for me!”
The enthusiastic boy pleaded in desperation now that the river was in sight. Jun only silently shrugged in response. He didn’t know the first thing about staying in contact with someone anyway.
“Oh! And my username is Minnes Fluer. Um, you might not know, but after this mission ends we’ll all be transported to different instances of Tutorial City. So we might not see each other again, but I hope we do.”
The tall girl also gave her contact information in a hurry while also informing him.
“Ugh. Let’s cross the bridge and be done with this. I can finally get away from you people. This has been such a waste of time!”
The armored man closed the gap to the only bridge leading across the river. Much to the man’s displeasure, there had been essentially no combat at all throughout the entire adventure.
However, as soon as they made it to the other side of the bridge, movement could be spotted shuffling about in the bushes.
”Awoo!”
After a long howl, three wolves sprang out from the forestry and quickly surrounded the group. Their coats of fur were pitch black as they bristled in fury. They snarled threateningly and inched closer while remaining in sync with each other.
“Finally!”
The armored man loosened his shoulders and drew his longsword.
After spending the entire mission dealing with lame tasks and boring chores, he could finally vent his frustrations with this paltry amount of combat.
The wolf that was closest to the man paused in its tracks while its body tensed up. The man didn’t pay it any heed and immediately pounced towards the wolf.
“Take this you dumb dog!”
He yelled at the top of his lungs as his strike went wide, missing his target entirely. On the other side of the group, the timid boy called Terranford brandished his club at another wolf.
“I’ll take on this one, you two can handle the one in the middle.”
He shot off towards his own prey and took a wild swing. The wolf easily darted to the side as they soon began a dance of their own. Between the two men, it seemed like the smaller boy would take longer to kill his opponent.
“S-Stay behind me.”
Minnes announced boldly and wielded her short sword towards the front. Despite it being the easy Mission Zero, this was still a combat scenario, and she didn’t make light of the situation.
She carefully stepped forward as the wolf hunkered down low, ready to pounce.
Off to the side, Jun inspected each person’s individual battle and made his own assessment.
Interestingly enough, it appears the Terranford boy with the club is actually the more proficient fighter. That buffoon with a sword is full of openings. Fortunately for him, his opponent is a dumb wolf.
“Hiyah!”
Minnes struck out with her short sword.
The air swooshed apart as the blade barely missed the wolf’s shoulder. The beast dashed to her side, but she remained undaunted and readjusted her position. It seemed that this was a reasonable first challenge for her to take on.
“Arrp!”
The sound of wood connecting to a wolf’s skull followed by a yelp could be heard from the side. The scholarly boy had just landed a heavy blow onto his foe and only now needed to finish the job.
“Come here you!”
On the other side, Jun saw the armored man chasing after his own opponent.
Tsk. What an absolute moron. He has a long journey ahead of himself, then again, so do I.
Jun shook his head at the ridiculous scene and turned his attention back towards the girl’s battle. Her hands were shaking as she strafed to the side, but her eyes looked determined.
The wolf made a vicious snarl before pouncing at her once again. The girl leaped to the side before swinging her blade down onto the wolf’s back.
It’s over.
Jun thought to himself as he turned his eyes in the direction of the final wolf, which to no surprise, was currently sprinting away from the armored man. The only issue was that the wolf was barreling straight towards the tall girl, who was didn’t seem to notice at all.
Jun lurched forward to intercept the wolf, and that’s when he noticed something peculiar. Even in this situation, the armored man’s eyes were currently ravaging his body as if he were a delectable feast.
Even in a combat scenario? Does he have a peanut for a brain? How about this then!
The wolf leaped into the air with its paws stretched forward and mouth wide open. Time seemed to slow as Jun shifted his weight, but he wasn’t the only one that time crawled for.
Bum-Bump.
Behind the wolf, the obnoxious man could feel each beat of his tiny heart. His vision was locked on Jun’s rising leg, which seemed to take an eternity as it soared through the air in the perfect form of a high kick.
Bum-Bump.
His eyes enlarged and his mouth took the shape of a lustful smile as he saw the dark folds of Jun’s dress ripple about.
Cr-ack!
The sound of a skull shattering on impact echoed the moment Jun’s foot connected. Simultaneously, both Terranford and Minnes had just finished off their own foes.
“Mission, success!”
The system’s voice echoed in the minds of all four of them, causing everyone’s eyes to light up in excitement—that is, everyone except the armored man.
His stared blankly at Jun with a shocked expression as his brain processed what he had just witnessed.
Just what was hidden underneath that silky dress? A delicate pair of panties?
No.
It was a man’s sack and meat.
“You’re-“
He was just about to conjure some words of disbelief when all four of them disappeared from the spot, forcing the unfortunate man to deal with his own nightmares.
