Chapter 179 - Final Steps

Lady Lide-El Tis tilted her head, her piercing gaze locked on Elefrin.

“That is not expected and seems a little bit too much...”

“Sorry, Lady Lide-El Tis, but I am sure there is no other explanation. I have to say that with the power of magic and correct use of spells, Alexander may not be killed but transferred into the body of Gareth.”

Elefrin said.

“Clidhna, who is a real mage and a hidden agent who has been working for almost all magical organizations for different missions, would not be sure of it. If she says that the message she got can only be given to him by Alexander, I think we have to trust that.”

Oprein exhaled sharply.

“If what you have said is true, Dark Father or Frost Elves most likely knew about this. I believe Gareth, or Alexander in the body of Gareth, must take help from one of these factions. I would say he took help from the Dark Father Organization, most likely from Rud.”

“I believe so too, Frost Elves, despite wanting to attack and find a way to deal with Third Circle or Sylind House.”

Elefrin took a deep breath and then smiled as he continued.

“They are too prideful to be working with Alexander or helping him. Rud on the hand would do that in a heartbeat if he thinks it would be useful to him.”

----------------------------------------

Oprein nodded after listening and then started talking.

“Elefrin, go to Rud and talk to him.”

“Tell him that Dark Sickle is ready to activate the Red Rise Plan; also ask him about Gareth. Before asking, tell him that Dark Sickle agrees on whatever Dark Father says until the mission and the events of this ship end.”

“That way, he will tell you what you have to know.”

“Then come back here and tell me what you have found out.”

Elefrin nodded.

“By your orders, my lord.”

Without another word, he turned and strode from the room, leaving Lide-El Tis and Oprein to exchange one last glance.

“This changes everything,” Oprein murmured.

“Indeed,” Lide-El Tis replied,

-

Rud sat in a high-backed chair, a grin spreading across his face as Elefrin entered.

“You’ve come faster than I anticipated,” Rud remarked

“And yet, I already know why you’re here.”

Elefrin, smiled faintly and gave a small bow.

“You always do, Lord Rud.”

“Humor me, then,” Rud said, leaning forward slightly.

“Say it aloud. What do you want to know ?”

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Elefrin’s smile faded as he straightened.

“If It is okay, I would like to know if Gareth is Alexander in reality ?”

The amusement on Rud’s face deepened.

“That is true, I have prepared a spell for him to come back to life, the sacrifices were many but it still worked and in return he works for me.”

Elefrin clasped his hands behind his back,

“My lord do you intends to bind the Dark Father, Frost Elves, and Dark Sickle with the plan “Red Rise”. So together, they will wage war on Sylind House and the Third Circle.”

Rud smiled. “That is true also, Against such force, Third Circle and that bastard named Sylas have no power to fight back”

Elefrin took a deep breath and asked.

“What about Heidrick my lord ?”.

Rud smiled again shaking his head.

“His power is really strong and if he wants to he may stop the battle or if he takes side it would be the end for the whoever group is his enemy.”

“Thats where Gareth, who is Alexander in reality will work.”

“Heidrick trusts Gareth, with his words. Alexander will make it so that Heidrick will not intervene the events.”

“I am sure, Heidrick would not like to intervene such a battle as the backings of any side too much for him to handle.”

Elefrin nodded.

----------------------------------------

He then hesitated for a moment before continuing. “Even if Alexander—Gareth—believes he can influence Heidrick to remain neutral. It would be best to make it sure. In the end, a level five mage has means to check on Gareth. One suspicoun from him would enough for him to cut the head of Gareth.”

Rud chuckled, the sound low and menacing. “That would be hard. Gareth and Heidrick closer than they look. You never know how close they are would you.”

Elefrin frowned slightly. “I am having a hard time understanding what are you meaning my lord...”

Rud waved his hand and got up.

“Gareth is the bastard of the Heidrick, Heidrick knows it but Gareth does not.”

“That is one of the reasons why Heidrick never advances to level six. But that is not our point.”

“Because, he is fond of his son, of course now death son in reality, he will make it hard for himself to trust Gareth so that he may not need to kill him.”

“As long as it is not directly on his face, he will try find ways to stop himself from killing his son.

Elefrin gulped and nodded.

“That, I have did not expected.”

Elefrin then took a deep breath and changed the subject.

----------------------------------------

Elefrin nodded, though his brow remained furrowed. “And what of Alexander himself? He’s not someone easily controlled. If he’s willing to go to these lengths, we have to consider the possibility that he’ll have his own agenda beyond Red Rise.”

Rud’s grin returned,

“Oh, I’m counting on it. Alexander’s ambitions make him predictable in their own way. He believes himself the master of his fate, but he forgets one thing.”

“What’s that, my Lord?” Elefrin asked.

Rud’s voice dropped to a whisper,

“He is bound by the very spell that gave him new life. And I know its secrets better than he does. If Alexander tries to deviate from our path, I’ll ensure his newfound existence is very short-lived.”

----------------------------------------

Satisfied, Elefrin bowed deeply.

“I’ll return to Clidhna and ensure preparations are underway. Should I convey any additional instructions, my Lord?”

Rud tapped a finger on the armrest of his chair, considering.

“Tell Clidhna to focus on rallying the Frost Elves first. Their support will solidify the pact’s strength.”

Elefrin nodded.

“As you command, my Lord.”

“Go swiftly,” Rud said, his tone dismissive.

“And Elefrin—keep your eyes open. We are entering the final stages, and I won’t tolerate any surprises.”

“Yes, my Lord,” Elefrin replied, before turning and leaving the room, his footsteps echoing faintly in the dim corridor beyond.
