Isaiah
“Alright. It’s ready.”
Both standing in a large several hectare formation Aalam had set up using his energy to carve runes into the forest’s trees and ground, Isaiah caught the spear Aalam had been using several minds to forge over the last twenty minutes.
The spear was entirely made of a green transparent metallic substance called Living Amber Titanium, an Epic grade E rank resource Aalam had found within about an hour of starting to search the forest, and it was very flexible, feeling almost perfect in Isaiah’s hands. Due to Aalam’s Triforce Construction skill, the weapon had been strengthened well beyond what was needed to withstand Isaiah’s high grade Law Larva of Blazing Destruction, and, even though its blade wasn’t anywhere close to as sharp as Aalam could have made it, the spear allowed for Isaiah’s resources to flow incredibly smoothly, so, even in its unfinished state, it was already equivalent to a Rare grade E rank artifact.
Order Unto Undeath - Unfinished (E-Rare)
An unfinished artifact designed by the Heavenly Spark Soul King to absorb the power of undeath so as to bring death to the living
Effects: Conductivity, Undeath Absorption
Requirements: The Heavenly Spark Soul King or one of his servants
According to what Aalam had explained, the weapon would absorb the power of undeath that animated things like living skeletons to use as its own power until it had enough to fundamentally transform, finishing the second step of its forging process and becoming an Epic grade artifact. Then Aalam could forge it again and turn it into a weapon Isaiah could use hopefully until the end of the War of the Chosen.
The amount of undeath energy required, however, was equivalent to the total energy needed to animate over 10,000 normal E rank skeletons or about 1,000 Crypt Lords, so, basically, Aalam’s plan was to use the entire enemy army as a set of weapon forging materials, starting with those chasing Diana. And the only surprising part about this insane plan was how no one in their group, not even Nitya or Irena, found it at all surprising.
It took about half an hour for Diana to finally enter into the formation region Aalam had set up, and most of her mana was completely depleted while her projected body was wet with sweat from her exertions, something very rare among E ranks, but at least she was safe.
While running, she’d repeatedly sent her spirits one by one to distract and delay the enemies, repeatedly having them sacrifice their bodies when their energy was mostly depleted so they could instantly return to her. But each time she did it cost her half the mana from the spirit’s respective Mana Well, and she only had eight spirits, so, even with her impressive mana recovery from her 9th level Yin Yang Cosmology, she was still only able to do this fourteen times.
And, right before entering into the formation region, she’d used up her very last usage.
“Relax now,” Isaiah said as Diana collapsed into his arms. He and Diana could only use their servant bonds to communicate with Aalam or Mila, not each other, so he had to speak out loud. “We’ve got this.”
Then, as the four Crypt Lords and three Blackviolet Dread Liches entered into the area of the formation, Isaiah handed Diana over to her brother and stepped forward.
The runes carved into the ground and trees hadn’t had any energy flowing through them, so they weren’t easy to notice, but, given Aalam had reached the 9th level in the best cultivation technique in the universe, the Twelve Element Primal Code, he was able to activate the huge formation before their opponents were fully able to notice, and that was a game changer.
The formation’s name was Region of Life and it wasn’t a very complicated formation. Aalam hadn’t even learned it from the Yin Yang Sage or from the contents of the two runic legacies he trained in, instead receiving it from Epecteos. But it was one of the most common formations used to fight against the undead for a reason.
The Region of Life formation did exactly what its name would imply. It gathered life energy from all around and greatly raised the percentage of life element mana in the region it was set in.
According to Isaiah’s master, it was originally designed as a formation to boost the yield of crops, but the undead found life element mana as poisonous as most creatures found death element mana, so it quickly became a staple used by any force when facing the undead.
When the formation activated, the Crypt Lords and Blackviolet Dread Liches, who would normally be carrying treasures to ward off life element mana, had to use more than half their resources to fight against the life element poison while, given Isaiah’s own powers, the regeneration provided by his Dragon Heart racial ability was tripled.
With the unfinished Order Unto Undeath Spear in hand, Isaiah then began to battle with all seven undead at the same time.

Personal Servant of the Heavenly Spark Soul King: Increase the effectiveness of the Soul and Attunement stats by 12.5% and raise affinity with all Laws by 25%.
Isaiah’s total stats were considerably weaker than Mila’s, Diana’s, and especially Aalam’s, but the average boost to his stats was the highest of them all. With free stats provided by Diana, he’d raised his Aura and Attunement stats to match his base stats, his Power of Balance racial ability now giving all his stats other than Luck an effective boost of 125%.
Due to his draconic race, his cultivation foundation was also flawless despite having a weaker cultivation technique than the others. And, with Diana’s help, he’d boosted his bloodline to become much more powerful.
Primordial Strong Soul Primal Human (Fabled)
The bloodline of an elite human who has traced the power of their ancestry back to before the beginning of their race
Effects:
Increase the effectiveness of all stats by 12.5%
Raise cultivation speed to double that of a Strong Soul Primal Human’s if your race would make it less
Lowers the barrier to awakening a strong soul variant race when undergoing racial evolution
With the boost to his bloodline, the boost to all his stats from his Human Blood Adaptation racial ability had increased from 0.5% to 2% as well. And, given he’d been in E rank the longest, his skills were closer to full mastery than those of the others.
Finally, and most important, he’d benefitted the most from Epecteos joining them.
If he had the same level of stats as any of the others, even with Aalam and Diana’s ridiculous level of Laws, they all agreed he’d dominate in a straight up fight.
Mostly, though, this was still due to the nature of his Laws, each of which was perfectly aligned to help out in combat.
With Aalam supporting him from the side with the new domain skill he’d gained from advancing his second class, Heavenly Spark Domain, the power of Isaiah’s Laws was slightly boosted while those of his opponents were slightly decreased. And, after Aalam left the formation with Diana and started using Telekinesis to launch dozens of rocks towards the undead at a time to disrupt their actions, he also activated a second formation that made it difficult for both Isaiah and the undead to leave the area of the Region of Life, meaning all the undead were forced to fight Isaiah in an area where they were greatly weakened.
The battle against the weakened undead then lasted around five minutes, Isaiah using his berserking skill Dragon Drive the entire time. And he didn’t hold back his resources at all, using Tempest Steps with every step and Advanced Power Attack with every stab of the unfinished Order Unto Undead.
He was able to catch one of the Crypt Lords off guard at the very start, killing it instantly and causing its energy of undeath to enter into his Order Unto Undeath spear. Then it was mostly a matter of trading attacks.
Two of the three Blackviolet Dread Liches were mages along with one of the Crypt Lords, the Region of Life formation lowering their abilities even further than the warriors, so Isaiah was able to just tank their weakened attacks with his Iron Defense Law infused into the purple scales of qi and mana generated by Dragon Drive.
The strength of these scales was even further boosted by the interaction of the Dragon Drive skill with his Dragon Scales racial ability, so his defense even without his Advanced Guardian skill was quite strong. With Advanced Guardian on top, however, which he was skilled enough with to directly increase the strength of his scales rather than create a separate layer of armor, even the Blackviolet Dread Lich warrior could only draw blood when it struck him with its greataxe, not break any of his bones.
This allowed Isaiah to take up to two hits from any of the warrior undead when attacking, so, as there were only three warriors total after his initial surprise attack, he only needed to dodge one of the warriors at a time while attempting to injure one of his opponents. Order Unto Undeath then directly absorbed the energy of any undead he stabbed, and, as a result, while Isaiah was a bloody mess at the end and his qi and mana were both almost gone, all the undead died and he, while completely exhausted, was physically uninjured.
“Please try to release that plague before they find us again,” Isaiah sent to Aalam as the latter deactivated the formations. Then, as Aalam caught him in the arm not holding the now passed out Diana, Isaiah fell unconscious as well.
