War always has casualties and war always has conquerors. One thinks of the nature of war as immediate destruction but really it is in the nature of war to find balance. The ancient texts of the world used used the word "culling" for war.
That is, not simple slaughter -- but a guided killing. When you have a limited number of resources and too many inhabitants you reduce the number of people to match the current crop of resources until the latter has proliferated.
It is thus in the nature of war to find balance.
Out of this cosmic series of events. A new balance sought to form.
The magistrate with the legion of the Dark Ones had claimed victor of the second Eternity War and he had been raised to the status of Emperor Supreme as a result.

However all the death that loomed in the background as a result of his seeking and forging a secret weapon -- the transfiguring of a human soul into a mythical armament -- upset the very nature of the cosmos.
The fates took pity on the fallen and out of this imbalance, out of this dark cloud of death that had arisen. Welled up a beast of the apocalypse: an angel of death.
When gas gets heavy it turns to water and out of this dark pool of the horrors of the world arose a balance.
The forces of the Dark One led by the magistrate and his disciple the Dark Graal thought by keeping the balance of the Time Flux and the Beyond in-sync that they were free from the constraints that met all mortals who sought to channel the cosmic background processes of life.
Thus in their darkness they transfigured a human soul into a cosmic weapon. And thus in their darkness they won an Eternity War by slaughtered all those that opposed them.
It was also thus in their darkness they thought they could return a human girl, formerly a cosmic weapon, to her original timeline without disrupting the balances of the universe.
The Time Flux and the Beyond were indeed not disrupted. Not because the wounded girl has been returned to her rightful place but because an emotional balance arose from the universe.
It was on this day that Liz, formerly known as the "Cannon of God" to those massacred in the Second Cosmic War, was returned to her homeworld in the correct timeline right before the moment she had originally been kidnapped by the Dark Graal.
It was as if the events, speaking in terms of present and future timelines, never occurred because she was back to the moment before it happened. Before she had been used as weapon -- only the events did occur and they burned into her the vicissitudes and emotional trauma of war.
It was also on this day that Sam I' El the angel of death accompanied Liz on her reunion of soul within space-and-time...This day saw two rebirths, not one.
For Liz, it was a day of walking into uncharted waters for she was back to being human yet now had to reckon with her former life as the "Cannon of God". For the Legion of the Dark Ones, it was also a day of entering uncharted waters for the imbalance caused in the cosmos summoned up a great tidal wave of destruction now formerly called Sam I' El the angel of death, the beast of the apocalypse.
