Somewhere in the middle of the ocean, there was a boy laying on the surface letting himself sway by the waves. It was a calm day, the sun was shining and no clouds were to be seen. There he lay, a young boy, no a young god.
His hair was as blue as the ocean itself, and his skin was tanned. Well at least his arms, face and feet were, the rest was covered in a blue robe that got darker the more it got down till it was as dark as the deepest depths of the ocean.
As always the young god relaxes after one of his adventures across the ocean. He had seen many things in his short life. A sunken city that was once as beautiful as the sea itself, a giant ship with four funnels, and a palace were many broken ships, and weird metal birds lay sunken.
He didn't like the last one. He was the god of the sea but even he was scared of what lived there. His entire body shivered at the thought of it, yet he smiled. He smiled at all the things he saw and will see in the future.
But now wasn’t the time to remember now was the time to relax, at least that was what he tried to do. But today something seemed off. The young god couldn’t put his finger on it but something was bordering him.
It was as if something was calling him, but he knew that wasn’t possible. The only thing that could call for him would be, for one his brothers and sisters, but they knew to stay away from him when they saw him relaxing. Or two humans.
His face turned into a grimace when he thought about them. The reason his siblings didn’t bother him was because of what happened after the humans did. He didn’t like thinking about it because he got scolded by his oldest sister for that.

Now only a small number of humans still exist. They lived on small islands and they knew to stay away from him, and he did the same.
He shook his head and he was getting distracted. Focusing on that thing that was bothering him, he tried to find out where it came from. Sure enough it didn’t take him long to find out that it came from directly under him.
He sighed. “Now what to do?” the blue haired boy thought. He could, of course, just go away. But there was one big problem. “I DON'T WANT TO MOVE!”
He was lazy.
He pushed the surface of the water with his fist, still laying in the water, to vent out his anger. It took a while, because his sister forbade him from venting his anger in the form of tsunamis. Now he was stuck with punching the water for half an hour, where maybe two tsunamis would have been enough.
But what could he do? His sister was scary when angry, and he didn’t want to get scolded again.
After he was finally done he let out another sigh. “Fine, let's take a look. At least that way I don’t have to swim or walk.” he thought to himself. Taking a deep breath, he made himself heavy and sunk beneath the surface of the water.
The moment he did so his body began to change. His once bronze toned skin became brighter the deeper he went and gills started to appear on his neck.
It took quite some time till the young god finally reached the bottom of the sea. His appearance was now vastly different then it was before. His skin was now white as snow and his hair and eyes began to glow in the deep and dark depths of the ocean.
He looked around in order to find the thing that bothered him the whole time. His vision wasn’t impaired despite the darkness that surrounded him. It would be quite embarrassing if the god of the sea couldn’t see in the sea.
It didn't take him long to find it, a small metal box. It was overtaken with sea life but despite the seemingly long time it stayed under water there was now rust to be seen on the box.
The young god took a step forward and reached down to it. The moment his fingers touched the surface of it his vision began to shift.
_____
The waves rocked the small boat softly. It was a clear day, with no clouds to be seen. And on the boat there sat a woman. She was malnourished and her once beautiful brown hair was splintered and broken because of the salty air.
She placed a small book in a metal box and closed the lid, sealing it so that the waters wouldn’t destroy the book.
With a scratchy voice she spoke. “I hope he will find my story entertaining.”
She placed the box to the side of the boat and lay down, closing her eyes.
____
With that the god came back to reality. He looked at the box with more interest and decided to take it with him to the surface.
Not seeing the broken boat nor the skeleton next to it.
