A Pirates Journey for Candy!

A world filled with many dangers, trials and tribulations, filled with unknowns, lands unexplored and eager people filled with the spirit of adventure. One of those people is Alisha, a young Lunar Mystic Fox, born from a monster and human. While a rare sight, it was usually met with joy as her kind is said to bring luck to those around them.

Almost identical to a human, she had long smooth black hair, a pair of fox ears and blue eyes, while a black coloured tail waved behind her. Dressed in long pants and a white sleeveless shirt, she wore leather armour that covered her chest and knuckle dusters on her hands. Humming a tune, today is her day, the day she longed for.

Happily bouncing a big bag of coins between her hands, she was on her way to buy her very first pirate boat. That’s right, this young girl’s dream was to become a pirate and she wanted to achieve her true dream, finding a treasure that only she wanted!

“This is it Alice, we finally get to sail out to sea! Have we got everything? Map check. Money check! Snacks? Double check!” “Kraa!” Her trusty partner, a Raven by the name of Alice, answered her back. Giggling, Alisha says “That’s right, we need water too, and plenty of meat! We can always get that after we buy our ship!”

With a skip to her step, Alisha made her way to a building, an old creaky wooden shack with a plaque that read “Earl’s Might Ships!” Entering, Alisha loudly declared “Old man Earl! I’m here for my ship!”

“Quiet girl, your loud voice will cause this place to fall apart!” Barking at her was an older man, dressed in shabby clothing with a white beard and hair was Earl. He was the town's shipmaster, someone the town of Snackers trusted. Outsiders only saw him as a questionable drunk, but there was no denying that he was easily one of the best.

“Here is the money you asked for Earl. Where’s my ship?” Slamming the coin purse on a table, Alisha crossed her arms, attempting to look cool but coming off as someone who would demand the manager instead.

“Girl you think I can just fit a boat in this tiny shack?! It’s at the pier, now shoo. You’ll know it when you see it.” Picking up the coin purse with haste and waving his hand like he was swatting a fly away, Earl shooed the pair away. “Oh, and I’ve had the ladies at Hogs Platter fill your ship with food and water, I figured you would’ve already spent all your money on snacks.”

Flinching at the accuracy of his words, Alisha had indeed spent nearly all her money on snacks and drinks. Potato chips, ginger beer, even Ice Cream that would melt fast was not spared from her purchase! Bowing quickly, Alisha quickly says “Thank you Earl! I’ll come visit again!”

“Yea yea, you’ve paid me so shoo girl, get on with your little trip.”

Waving to Earl, Alisha sped away, faster than you might think is possible for someone carrying a bird on her shoulder and a bag on her back. A few moments after she left the shack, old man Earl sighed, looking towards the pier.

“Girl, the waters are more dangerous than you think. You best take care of yourself. This village will miss its little princess.”

Alisha had been raised by the residents of the town of Snackies, she had no blood relatives but the residents didn’t mind, nor did she, for they raised her well and she always had a home with them.

Arriving at the pier, her eyes sparkled when they rested on a certain ship. A sailboat, big in size and built for one person to sail. A flag perched on the flag post, white in colour with a Raven painted on it, identical in looks to Alice with a cookie on it. Most would find the flag cute, like a drawing a child had brought back from school, but to Alisha this flag had a meaning. Nodding in approval, she was about to jump on when someone spoke to her.

“Well, it's your big day isn’t it dear.” An elderly woman named Janet approached her, smiling. “You’ve always been one for adventure and today you get to sail out on your very own one. Remember dear, you’ll always be welcome here.”

Running up to the elderly lady, Alisha hugged her tight. “I’ll miss you Granny Jan. I’ll make sure to come back and share all of my treasures with everyone!” Patting her head lightly, Granny Jan laughed.

“Well, make sure to bring plenty for everyone!” Nodding, Alisha let go, wiping away a few tears. She would miss Granny Jan the most, this sweet old lady had always been there for Alisha, through the best and worst of times.

“I’m going now Granny. Tell Teacher Lee I’ll prove to the world that his fighting style is the best!” Giggling, Alisha waved as she ran towards her ship. She had said farewell to all she could already, and now was the time for her to leave.

She knew how to sail, she’d learnt from those around the town, she’d even sailed the fishing boats! This time she was leaving the town of Snackies, and she was quite nervous. Pulling up the anchor, she slowly drifted out. Letting down the sails, she started picking up wind, and looking back at the town she bowed once more. A gesture of farewell and thanks, she knew the waters she wanted to travel were dangerous and unknown, no man had explored them before, and there was no telling when she’d return.

She however wanted to explore them, for one thing and one thing only. Opening up her map, she found the oceans she wished to explore. A trip that would take weeks and cross many towns.

“Alright Alice! Let's make everyone proud. We’ll conquer these waters, and we’ll claim the one prize everyone in the town wants! The Legendary Candy!”
