Chapter 11 - Going to End

Leo lets out a sigh. Just weird girl who's way into vampires. But she's cute. Should I fall in love? Is that allowed for the undead? Or are there rules against that? Whatever. If no one stops me, it should be fine. Leo decides.

“Hey, so we should do this again. Maybe as more than friends?” Leo asks with a smile.

Penelope lets out a groan. “Damn, I knew you were going to ask that. Well, fine… I wouldn't mind going out for a date… But only because I think you're a vampire! Sparkling in the sunlight… Who do you think you are?” She reluctantly agrees.

Leo’s smile becomes even brighter. “That’s great. Maybe you could give me a few pointers for my fanfics. That’s kind of been my aim lately, to become a big fanfic writer.” Leo says, the conversation wandering off into another direction.

Penelope lets out a snort. “No one writes fanfic to become big. They write it because they have to. Because they can’t get their mind away from a possibility. So they write it down. So they know that it happened. If you want to become good at writing fanfics you’re going to have to feel that obsession with your soul.” Penelope says with a sigh, as if she was mourning for all the hopeless lovers out there.

Leo’s eyes widen. “Well. That sounds intense. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been that horny.” He comments carelessly.

“What does horniness have to do with it!?” Penelope exclaims before taking a moment to consider it. “Okay, it has everything to do with it. But you don’t have to say it, damn.” She says with a shake of her head.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

Leo lets out a chuckle. He looks to Penelope and a thought crosses his mind. “Oh, Penelope, my muse. I think you just inspired the perfect original character for my vampire fanfics.” Leo says, thinking aloud.

Penelope’s eyes widen. “Don’t tell me you’re going to write about me!? No! You can’t! But if you do… Make sure to ship me with Johnny. Young and hot. It’s right where I want to be…” She says, getting lost in the idea.

Leo smiles. I guess I’m writing Johnny as myself. You can’t blame me, Penelope! If the horniness is there, I’m sure as hell going to write with it! Leo decides.

Leo was rolling around in bed like a giddy schoolgirl, writing fanfics inspired by him and Penelope, when he receives a phone call.

Leo picks up his phone and clears his throat. “Hello?” He says with a deep voice, as if to compensate for how he’s been spending his time recently.

“Hey, buddy, ol’ pal. It’s me Sal. The guy who gave you your keys. Just calling to check in. See how you’ve been handling it and all that.” A voice says over the phone.

“I’ve been doing fine. My subscription to the human experience is going to end soon. So I assume I’ll just be an unfeeling bastard after that.” Leo says, unamused.

Sal lets out a chuckle. “Oh, don’t sound so glum. You’ll get the chance to experience it all again. Speaking of, have you found a job?” He asks.

“Ugh, no. I’m kind of trying to earn work points by writing fanfiction. Seemed quick and easy at the time.” Leo admits with a sigh.

“What? Well, I guess that’s valid. But you should still get a job. You can get a decent amount of work points by just working. For you, I wouldn’t recommend the IT manager route. If I were you, I’d go the consultant route, or even just service desk for a managed services place. You’ll get more work points that way. Also, try going back to school. Take night classes or something. You won’t need to sleep anyway and the undead can never have enough skills. Time is a non-issue for us. You can even squeeze in your fanfic thing.” Sal suggests.

“Damn, man. Is not sleeping really going to be that easy? My first thought is that it’s going to mess with my mind a bit.” Leo says, expressing his concerns.

“Well, yeah. You’re going to have to sleep eventually. And you should sleep every once in a while, just to keep things clean. But one or two days without it shouldn’t be too bad. You’re body is kind of built for that experience, so it wouldn’t be the same as a normal human going without rest.” Sal explains.

“Fuck. I’m going to dread this undead thing.” Leo says with a shake of his head.
