Chapter 11

Chapter 11

I stood in front of the general elemental, with my warhammer out. I knew that monsters gained a transcendence every 10 levels, meaning that my new transcendence wasn't going to beat its transcendence. It was basically an ultimate attack that gave me permanent x10 strength and this attack that smashed a bunch of level 75 warhammers into my opponent.

The elemental probably had some sort of fire transcendence. It also had a Truth, being level 80. The only advantage I had was that stats were multipliers, and elementals had low bases, so stats weren't as effective for the elemental. My runes caused cool water to run through the hammer at blinding speeds. We stared at each other, each with the glare of a true king.

I charged first. I swung my hammer at it as hard as I could, burning trillions of stamina in a single hit. The elemental swayed for a second, which let me get it three more hits like that. The elemental burst out a jet of fire from its hands, hitting me in the face.

My armor glowed red. I hadn't needed it since I fought the monster where I found my Truth, but it blocked the fire from this elemental. It started glowing hot.

I sent a pulse of a million or so mana into my ice cool ice affinity rune, cooling the monster. This monster was a mere general. It was nowhere near a true emperor in power.

"This is my planet. Not yours. Die."

I smashed it in the head. It crashed to the ground, melting the ground. Its body spurted fire from all the pores. My visor was down, but some fire got into the eyehole. My eyes were charred, but my high perception meant I could still see, albeit worse. But this thing would die.

I, as the owner of this planet, didn't owe anything to this elemental. It was mere fodder to help my path grow. I fired a jet of water with my basic elemental attack at the elemental. It screamed in agony. I fired water even harder. The elemental slowly got up, while screaming louder and louder. It was the sound of agony. It punched me. It would kill a commoner, but it did little more than annoy me, the great emperor of the Sasomac Empire. I forced my nerves to calm down. It was only heat. Mere heat. It was just energy. I harvested it's sorrow, and turned it from mere energy to essence for me.

I smashed it in the face with my hammer. It's Hammer Smashed Face was so distorted the elemental tried punching it's own face. I took advantage of that opportunity.

I smashed it so much with my hammer that instead of a Hammer Smashed Face, it had a Hammer Smashed Body. It spoke, somehow.

"The infinite life of the phoenix comes through my fire!"

Dammit. I knew that Truth. It allowed someone to turn to ash and then make a new body out of the ash, nine times a day.

The reason someone couldn't just take any Truth they wanted is that only certain Truths were compatible with certain classes, and the wording for the same Truth could be slightly different. The Empire did know what Truths were compatible with what classes, and the possible wordings for each Truth. As a Truth would just kill the user if they were weaklings under level 50, when I was a weakling at level 40-47, I thought my Truth would be "The great power of Warhammer is mine, " but it turned out to be something else. They did the same thing, though.

The elemental glowed white. I decided two could play at that game."I am the Warhammer."

The new incarnation seemed to be peak level 80, whereas the last one was bottom level 80. I was glowing white, as I was one with my hammer.

I smashed the elemental. It hit me with fire, making the water come up on my hammer. It burnt me, but I took that time to smash it. This time, it seemed smarter, and tried to evade the hammer. However, elementals weren't physical focused, so I could scrape the elemental with the hammer, on account of it being a higher section.

It hit me with a pure white firebolt. I screamed. It hurt almost as bad as bursting the seal.

I quieted my mouth. I was an Emperor, above lowly mortal commoners. I would not allow my mortal reflexes to take precedence. I hit it with my transcendence in turn.

A cage of level 75 warhammers surrounded the elemental. All of them slammed inwards at once, crushing the elemental. I knew that it couldn't possible survive, as these hammers were level 75 Greatite.

It said its Truth phrase again, and it was on its third incarnation. It was level 81. The flames were getting truly intense. The elemental was glowing a slight shade of blue. It felt hot, but I would not succumb to mere heat.

I slammed into it with my hammer, harder then ever. It did not falter.

I started using the momentum from my hits to swing us backwards, as I would have more space to move on the open plains. The elemental followed me. Once I was out but the elemental was still in the cave, I jumped over the the cave mouth, and landed on the cave roof. I smashed it with my hammer. The elemental was buried under six feet of rock. I constantly slammed my hammer into it until the elemental shot a blast of white fire at me. I jumped out of the way, and the rocks took the blast for me.

The elemental threw a fireball at me. It moved at such high speeds it got into my helmet. I was rapidly losing health, but I told myself to stay calm. I poured mana into my cooling rune again. My face was blackened now. It hurt. I knew I shouldn't get distracted. I charged hard. I slammed my hammer into the ground, creating a ravine, then ran behind the elemental, knocking it into the ravine.

I jumped into space, and right down into the ravine. I was traveling with such force I not only killed the elemental, but I blasted a hole through the planet, and escaped at such a velocity that when I slowed down, I was face-to-face with the elemental in the neighboring star system. In the middle of space. I knew hitting it into the star would probably heal it. I made a mental note to claim all the planets in this star system for the Sasomac Empire. After the battle.

I slammed my hammer into the elemental again. It was visibly faltering. After a few more whacks, it was forced to use its transcendence again.

The fire was now solidly blue, and the monster was now level 82. I decided I'd use a new tactic.

I jumped onto an an asteroid. The elemental followed. I slammed the asteroid with my hammer, turning it into dust, and scraping the elemental, both with the hammer and the rock. I jumped onto another asteroid, and the elemental followed. I smashed that asteroid, and the pieces hit the elemental.

I repeated that process for an hour or two, when the elemental changed into its sixth incarnation. It would not kill me.

the sixth incarnation was pure white fire, at level 85, moving faster than I could see. Into my face.
