After the school bell rang, Lyle and the rest of class-A gathered in front of Mirin-sensei. They are now in the arena ground for their Magic practical Training exercise.

Everyone were not seated neatly according to their student numbers like in their classroom, but scattered around sitting or standing as they liked in a loose group as they prepared for the lesson.

Center of attraction was of course, the princess of the Malic kingdom as well as the prince of the Zorc kingdom who have their own big group.

Lyle was just sitting naturally in the corner alone while leaning on the wall of the sitting area inside the arena ground. Feme wanted to sit beside him but he rejected it because it might cause a problem in the future if everyone saw them together, especially for a certain someone.

One person who was sitting slightly further away caught Lyle’s attention. He has two horns sticking out in his forehead just like a demon race, but unlike Belial and the other Demon race, he has fur in his arms as well as a wolf tail. Truly a male student who gave off the impression of a demon wolf.

He has bruised on some parts of his body, his eyes drooped and quietly distancing himself to the other students. Sometimes he would tremble whenever someone passed by him as if he was cowering in fear.

‘A bullied person, I guess!’ thought Lyle.

“Okay. Listen carefully,” Mirin said. With that, the lesson started and Lyle shifted his attention back to the sensei.

“Because we have a new student, I will start at the basic. Mages used mana to cast spells based on your own element aptitude. If you have high-affinity toward an element, you can easily cast a spell. Also note that, there are various type of magic a mage can use, this are: Attack magic, Defense magic and support magic. Attack magic is magic mainly use to attack same as defense magic who is use to defend. Support type magic can gives buff towards your allies as well as gives debuff to your enemies.

Well, I guess that’s it for today’s explanation. Today for your training you will fight a demon beast.”

Some students immediately frowned and put on a helpless expression, as if Mirin-sensei had read their minds.

“But don’t worry for this demon beast is only below C-rank, so try to defeat it. SHin-kun, don’t be worried. Because your aptitude for magic hasn’t even been assessed yet. You will just watch them on the side for today!”

Lyle nodded his head and stood up, casually walking towards the sitting bench on the corner. Meanwhile, everyone immediately started forming their own teams, though save  for the guy Lyle saw earlier he didn’t stood up and was just sitting quietly their as if afraid to make some noise. Oddly enough, no one seems to mind him as if no one can see him.

Seeing this, Lyle was now doubting himself if he was the only one who can saw him. He immediately lay down on the bench closed his eyes.

“Okay. Now that you have each of your teams, I will now explain the training. For today’s training, I called several summoning masters to summon a C-rank demonic beast for us. So are you ready?”

“HO HO HO~ let’s begin immediately, I will show you how good the great Misuzu Malican really is! HO HO HO~” said the princess while raising her head proudly and stood up.

The students let out a cheer.

“Bring it! We will be the one to defeat it, right guys!” Belial said.

“Good! Now BEGIN!”

Immediately a “CRACKED~~ CRACKED~~” noise was heard. Not a description, but a literal sound. It’s as if there was a wall of glass in the air which is breaking. Then suddenly the sound stops.

“Eh, is that it? Where’s the monster?” said by one of the student.

All the students looked at Mirin-sensei who is also staring at the ceiling bewildered.

Then….

“SCREECH~~ SCREECH~~”

A black colored wind immediately gathered in one spot. All the students looked at it with expectant looks and readying themselves, but not Mirin-sensei. She felt cold sweat running on her back. Her throat dried as she can’t utter a single sound.

The ceiling above them was now dyed with red and became ominous. Maybe feeling something strange, some of the students became restless and slowly backing away.

This is the first time something like this happened in the middle of a summoning for Mirin-sensei. Although she is trying to calm herself, the SCREECH SCREECH SCREECH noise is getting more serious.

Destruction. Shattering.

The magically reinforced ceiling above them was totally destroyed, and a spiderwed-like cracks radiated to it.

“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

Screamed a girl in the class. Big boulders rain down on them. Mirin-sensei immediately cast a barrier around the students to protect them.

“Brace yourselves! Is everybody alright?” Mirin-sensei shouted. Seeing that all the students seemed okay, she immediately contacts the summoning master via telepathy.

“What happened? Hey! Answer me! What happened?” she asked but no one answered. As if there is something interfering, she  couldn't get through.

Giving up, she ran towards the student to assist them. At that moment––,

An incident, which should have never occurred, occurred.

“Guuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

“…!? This sound is––!” said Mirin as she looked at the big shadow covered by dusts and dirt.

When the dust dissipates, they could now see the creature clearly. A humungous being as big as the cyclop Lyle defeated before was standing while holding a big axe. His lower body is that of a human, but his upper body is a cow. His mouth and nose was letting out smoke and his eyes are blood red.

“ROOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!”

“Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!?”

“I-is that a M-minotaur?”

“W-Why would a m-minotaur suddenly appear in a place like this––?! Is that what we should be f-fighting? I thought it’s only a C-rank but that’s an A-rank demonic beast”

“Is that…, a bull type monster recorded in the books!? A Minotaur!?”

The entire student is terrified upon seeing the ominous beast. Some were screaming, some were crying.

Most of the students are still D-rank or C-rank; they can’t hope to defeat a ferocious A-rank demonic beast.

“Everyone, calm down! Students don’t attack, prioritize on escaping! Gather without panicking and take shelter in the school building!” shouted by Mirin-sensei.

‘I can defeat it but there are still many students here, I might involve them! Damn what the hell is happening here?’ she thought.

Mirin-sensei is an A-rank mage, so she is confident that she can defeat it, but she was afraid she might involve her students on the fight. She has no choice but to wait for either the reinforcement to come or for the students to safely escape.

“Now run! Escape from this place!”

All the students were frantically running away while crying and weeping.

“Aaaaaaaaaaah!” two students charged at the Minotaur while one boy is holding a sword.

Because of this, the entire student stops from running and turned their attention at the two students. Seeing it they widened their eyes because they recognized them.

One is the princess of the Malic kingdom; Princess Misuzu Malican and the other one is the prince of the Zorc kingdom; Belial Zorc.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU BOTH DOING!? COME BACK HERE! IT’S NOT A BEAST YOU BOTH CAN DEFEAT!” enraged by their sudden reckless actions, Mirin-sensei screamed.

“Don’t worry sensei, if we fight it together, we can defeat it!” Misuzu said, her voice filled with confidence.

“Yes sensei! Most of all, this is supposedly our training, we better do it!” belial said.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING, COME BACK HERE IMMEDIATELY!” Mirin was now burning with rage. ‘Just what the heck are these two saying; they are just C-rank mages while the opponent is an A-rank? That’s like throwing away your lives’ she thought.

But the two didn’t obey, instead they charged at the Minotaur without hesitation.

“Flash of an instant, instant of flash; give me speed rival that of gods ”

Shorted incantation. Belial used shorted incantation. Mana enveloped his legs giving him flash like speed, making him moves faster.

“Fire that burns everything, gives me power to incinerate my enemy ”

Just like Belial, Misuzu also did shorted incantation. Crimson fire emerged around the Minotaur.

Belial suddenly appears beside the Minotaur and strikes him then vanished.

“Roooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaar”

The minotaur let out a thunderous growl. If the attack hurts him or not, no one knows. Watching the spectacle, the students started cheering.

‘HO HO HO~~ see the magnificent me! Now praise me, worshipped me! HO HO HO~~’ Misuzu inwardly said.

While Belial was grinning from right ear to his left. ‘hahaha an A-rank demonic beast? So weak? Maybe it’s already over, hahaha see that! I am the strongest! Now look at me’ he thought while turning around to look for Feme. But she was nowhere to be seen.

“Fools! It’s not over yet, don’t turn your back on it!” Mirin shouted, quickly running towards them.

Just as Mirin said that, the Minotaur stood up like it was nothing and raised its axe.

Belial and Misuzu were dumbfounded and can only look at it stupidly.

BOOOOOOOOM

The axe was swung down on them. Fortunately, they were not hit directly and were only hit by the shockwave of the attack that sent them flying.

“RooooooaaaaaaaaarRRR!”

“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

Again the students scream while running outside the arena, but because of the rubble blocking the exit, they started to sit down on the ground while crying.

Minotaur growled. As if smiling, it charged at the nearest Belial lying in the rubble. It again raised his axe and swung on him, but fortunately this time, Mirin arrived where Belial is while slightly gasping out of air due to running.

“Earth that protects, Earth that gives life, make a wall that stands high ”

She immediately chanted. Wall made of earth rise in front of her. But maybe because it was too slow, the Minotaur instead of the axe, used his hand to swap the incomplete earth wall, as if swatting a mosquito.

Unguarded, Mirin was sent flying from the unexpected attack of the Minotaur.

“Run---“her last words before she was hit but it seems Belial couldn’t hear her because instead of running, he was just sitting there not moving.

“Hiii----“he shrieked as he saw the Minotaur’s burning red eyes. The raised axe was now gliding down on him.

But before it hits, the Minotaur’s hand shift slightly not hitting Belial, as a shadow hit it. But because the man used his entire body to rammed on the Minotaur’s hand he was lying in the rubble.

“Run now, nii--!” he said. From looking at him, he was the guy with two horns in his forehead and animal fur in his arms and bodies that caught Lyle’s attention before.

“Hiiii-----!” Belial then now stood up, the run in the opposite direction, away from him and the Minotaur.

The displeased Minotaur, maybe because interfering with his fun, was now glaring at the lying student. This time again smoke came out from his nose and mouth as it raised his axe to kill the interfering student.

Mirin who was lying in the rubble, saw it and desperately tried to stand up. “Stop!” she muttered. Staggering and trembling because of the pain, she still held her ground and stood up. She now started to chant but still ‘I wouldn’t make it!’ she thought.

Then suddenly….

A sound as if it came from snap of finger resounded from the arena.

As the Minotaur swing his axe down, a crimson dragon with snake-like body suddenly appeared out of nowhere and coiled around the Minotaur’s body. Then it squeezed its body while the dragon’s mouth opens and swallowed the Minotaur’s head. Then….

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOM

The crimson dragon suddenly exploded along with the Minotaur’s head and crimson fire enveloped its body.

“Roooooooooaaaaaaaarrr!”

The Minotaur let out a scream then *plop* fell down burning.

The entire student present was silent. Even Mirin-sensei who didn’t know what is happening could only stare at the sudden spectacle with wide-eyes.
