9: An Outworlder's Desire

9: An Outworlder's Desire

You must be wondering why the Dark Side of the Force-unlike both canon and other fanfiction protagonists-has such tremendous fear of Erebus? Why the Light Side seems far too tame compared to what is commonly described in both canon and non-canon media? Well, aside from how his [Soul Core] was designed by Mortis when he first entered the Variant Timelines, it is easily explainable as to why neither side of the Force seem to truly affect Erebus' mind.

It is due to his unstable foundations through his traumatic death of which he can never truly forget.

To put it in comparison, not even Lord Voldemort (aka Tom Riddle) who had split his soul into several pieces, created Horcruxes to cheat death, and was conceived under a love potion could radiate the sheer agonizing madness and traumatic experience as Erebus. Most fanfiction protagonists (like Aedan Bones or an alternate version of Harry Potter) would have the chance to come to terms with their deaths before being reincarnated into their new world, but Erebus didn't get killed by Truck-Kun or suffered a far less darker fate.

For all he knew, Erebus' homeworld was nothing more than a barren inhospitable rock orbiting a yellow star in another dimension outside of the Variant Timelines.

It was with this in mind that Erebus slowly degraded into insanity while on Dromund Kaas. The knowledge that if he didn't get enough power, his home will remain barren and lifeless for thousands or even millions of years until nature fully recovered.

Thus not even Crucio, Imperio, or Avada Kedavra could silence the desires of the Outworlder. Anything dark or gray will hardly affect him positively, but instead it turn him further down the dark spiral of self-loathing and slowly forge a true psychopath that could rival Voldemort or any Darth.

'The pain will be there with me forever,' Erebus thought to himself as he slowly emerged from the Dark Temple to a sight he never expected to happen. He saw a squadron of Imperials and a few Sith Acolytes beginning to direct their killing intent directly at his emerging figure.

It appeared that to them, he violated the law to enter the Dark Temple illegally. In their minds, they were unaware that they were about to regret ever coming near him while bearing witness to an extremely dark point in the Empire's history.

'Murderers,' he thought to himself as he looked over them all like sheep in wolves clothing-his mental trauma slowly turning into a state of psychosis. 'I was so happy with my family mere moments ago and stuck in an endless cycle of depression while simply waiting for my death by that meteor. I hugged my siblings and shared in their sorrows while praying to God that we would be saved...'

Neither the System nor those gathered there that were directing their killing intent at Erebus could detect the true depths of his growing psychopathy and the mental damage everything had happened to him just within the last week gave him. The memories that were forever tainted by darkened knowledge that his soul was nearing a state of pure destruction and could never see his family's smiles again triggered something deep in his soul.

Something beyond even the mystical Abeloth's ability in the Force could dare to touch.

'We prayed, cried, shouted, and hoped that we would be saved,' Erebus continued to think as his emotions started to fray. 'No one came that day. No heroes came to save us as everything we knew was going to be destroyed in fire and ash. We were a young civilization just discovering the stars, but was it really our time? Was our fate designed to end there with a FUCKING METEOR set to wipe the board clean?! HOW DID WE SIN AGAINST YOU GODS SITTING UPON YOUR GILDED THRONES?!'

The group slowly grew to include a few stray Sith Lords who sensed the huge amount of killing intent focused onto a single point through the Force, but there was only one out of dozens of Imperials who sensed something was wrong. He didn't know why, but the one they were all intending to eradicate felt cold.

Getting closer to Absolute Zero in terms of coldness.

It didn't matter too much for him because the danger revealed itself as they all saw Erebus' beautiful sapphire blue eyes turn completely black and a fierce killing intent swept through the crowd.

'I HATE YOU ALL! YOU DIDN'T SAVE THEM! I'LL EVISERATE YOU ALL UNTIL NOT EVEN YOUR SOULS REMAIN INTACT!' Erebus thought as the psychosis triggered.

[New Skill Unlocked: Shadow's Epiphany,] the System mechanically announced in Erebus' mind although it was drowned out by the endless chaotic emotional storms churning within. [You have entered the Rage State. Very little will be equal to you in this state and even the providence of those chosen by the world's will shall falter against you while in this state. Logic and reason give way to intense desire (+500% Damage Output; +200% Incoming Damage) for a short duration.]

[Time Remaining: 00:59]

Erebus raised his hand towards the imperials-who were starting to feel like something was immensely wrong-and his fingertips started to emit a dark purple color that was getting slowly closer to pure void black. Most of the acolytes who were within the crowd slowly felt primal fear as they stared at this psychotic killer like they had done fucked up royally.

Only one of them (the one mentioned earlier) didn't feel fear. He felt immense sadness and a strong twisted desire for something he felt like he couldn't have anymore from deep within his soul. This one acolyte didn't know it yet, but he would among one of the few men in the Variant Timelines to help ease Erebus' pain and travel to the world of Terra in the future.

A little over half a minute passed as the Imperials shivered in fear from Erebus' state of psychosis. With only ten seconds remaining on his current state, Erebus committed his own act which silenced the entire Galaxy.

"[Wrath of the Immortals]!" Erebus shouted the incantation.

Then came the flood of System notifications and the birth of an Outworlder's Desire.
