34: The Trials of Sith III

=====+=====

Jedi and Sith alike needed to sleep. This much was evident as both the Republic and Empire had people working around the clock across various worlds to keep things running smoothly.

As for Erebus, even a Gold-tier cultivator needed to sleep and the last time he had any sleep was during his last night at Hogwarts. The powerful yet mysterious Ancient Magic within the castle served to help soothe the damage to his soul core that his first death (not by the Killing Curse) had caused, but now that he was back in his Voidship (Vengeful Wraith), the only thing that would help to stabilize his damaged soul was only the Force itself.

It would prove to be a difficult task for the Force to keep some form of stability for Erebus' remnant soul as all Star Wars fans know that the Dark Side tends to act when it does. This further makes it difficult as Erebus was near Korriban--a place known to those familiar with game lore of being a Dark Side focus--and at a high risk of acquiring further damage to his healing soul.

Despite being somewhat aware of the potential risk in sleeping, Erebus took the plunge when he felt his body become too heavy to move due to exhaustion.

A dark abyss floated around Erebus. Echoes and whispers of bygone and future people rang out in this strange void--beckoning him.

A shattered world with the tallest living tree ever-helpful in guiding people in the Light.

A familiar castle--Hogwarts--standing tall with children running around happily with mischievous adventures through its hallowed halls.

A sandy world--Tattooine--eclipsed in light and darkness as if contested with its heavy destiny.

Six gemstones shining brightly amidst a starry night sky.

He didn't fully understand what was happening here, but there were clues Erebus could decipher. It had been clear to him that the Force was showing him places he knew but had not yet traversed. The shattered world was unfamiliar to him in the most part, but he knew it was the Spiral from the game Wizard101.

He also knew that this version of Hogwarts was different compared to the one where he had visited during the events of Hogwarts Legacy. This was the castle in which young Harry and his friends would meet and learn magic together despite the plans of Lord Voldemort.

That made Erebus slightly angry in knowing that Voldemort's shadow will soon loom over the trio for the next several years, but he quickly calmed down in the knowledge he will soon screw over the bald eggman using his Shadow Magic.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

As for Tattooine and the six gemstones, that was obviously telling Erebus that he'd soon have to deal with Anakin Skywalker and the Clone Wars in the near future. The gemstones were obviously about the Marvel Universe, but depending on the amount of content in his destination, the difficulty of such things will have to be determined.

Upon realizing the severity of his task to heal his remnant soul--in traversing these worlds--Erebus slowly felt himself lose control. He slowly began to plunge even deeper into the darkness...

In another dimension...

A powerful vision echoed through the mind of Ikorra--a warlock Human female--as she observed the ever-fluctuating timeline. She bore witness to a sight that made her question what its true meaning was.

She saw a man cloaked in darkness yet emanating powerful Light--even bleeding golden light--wielding strange power that carried powerful connotations of other dimensions. She saw him fighting against dark forces stronger than anything she knew--including the Fallen in the old Cosmodrome.

'Is this your will?' she thought to herself as she looked up at the Traveler in its place above the Last City. 'Is this man going to help us?'

It would be a very long time before she got her answer, but that will be saved for a later time.

The dead are plentiful in the world. The last embers scattered throughout the four winds, but in a lone decaying church, a priestess had been granted a vision unbound from the dark depths.

Just like Ikorra, this very same priestess will not get her answers until much later.

Outside of Dreamland, Darth Vowrawn and Marr began their discussion. It had been about the ability of Erebus' to hide from most people's perception (aka his Cloak of Shadows skill) for a limited time along with the forewarning about his goals.

They would eventually agree that it was best if they kept an eye on him in the Academy and out of the influence of Zash or Baras. Both of them knew that Baras was not the true Voice of the Emperor in thanks to the mysterious benefactor of Erebus' confirming their suspicions while Zash--if she got her hands on him--would prove to be disastrous since the ancient ritual she was preparing for wouldn't work on him.

As for the Jedi's side...

Satele Shan--along with the Republic's SIS--were looking out for any signs of Erebus Axus. They had even made up a file in the Republic's system especially just for him that was labelled as "confidential" for most of the Republic's governing body save for the Chancellor, Jedi Council, and General Garza.

What had even proven to be troublesome to the Jedi and Republic was that--unbeknownst to them--the Emperor's Children and Hand were aware of Erebus' existence. As they had been informed by Vitiate long ago that a powerful Force User was now within the empire's grasp, it was only natural that they'd do whatever it took to keep Erebus away from the Jedi.

"The Trials are not yet over, young one," a mysterious voice echoed out through the dark void surrounding Erebus' consciousness. "The Way of the Sith is rife with struggle and bloodlust, but great rewards. Your teacher is no true Sith, but with the foundations laid, it is time to seek out your Master. Wake up, Acolyte."

With those words, Erebus woke up.

Unbeknownst to him, his cultivation started to grow once again.
