The Poly Spirit

The entire training facility lit up under the beautiful shining light of Yufinella. It was as if the sun came down to Johan and showed its wings.

She truly looked like an angel. Almost white was her hair and the little wings fluttered in an elegant manner. She had her eyes closed and was floating around.

"Wow!!"

Johan was flabbergasted. She looked out of this world. As if she knew what he was thinking about she flew towards him and put her hands on his cheeks.

"Master, I am from far away. A world called 'Mythra'. Once my teacher lived there with many other books and manuscripts but after we were taken away by... a certain someone, I was the one who had to accompany this book. Once I came down here, the book went from one person to the other. At last it ended up here."

Johan petted the Yila on her head and started bombarded her with questions.

"What does this book contain that it needs a protector? Why is it so protected?"

"Well, obviously it has contents about the Light attribute in it. But other than that the information it contains is very sensitive. Once you grasp the fundamentals it tells, bit by bit one will understand that it guides through each and every layer of what can be achieved with the Light attribute.

Now since the book is tens of thousands of years old, people have been trying to get a hold of it in the hopes of learning Light abilities and becoming incredibly strong."

"Well, that's great I guess. As long as they're not looking for me. Anyways, since I am the new owner of this book how about you tell me more about the light element. I really want to learn about it. There isn't much information out there."

"As you wish, master. First of all..."

Johan and Yufinella continued talking about the book and it's content for a while until he got a connection from his sister.

'Johan.'

'Hmm? Vide- Who's there?'

He immediately recognised that it wasn't Videl's voice.

'It's me, Hannah. You're sister, dumbass.'

'Ohhh. Well, you never told me your name. What's up? Why are you connecting with me?

'Just wanted to check up on you. How are you adapting to your circumstances?'

'... strange. There is surely more to your call. Just tell me. If you really are my sister even though dad never told me about it, you should be honest.'

'Well, it seems like I can't hide stuff from you. Like father like son. I'm in a dire situation. My army and I are fighting against Mdrassi and his forces. He is the one... who killed Anton.'

silence

'... I see. Do you need me there? What can I do?'

'No, not here. But you have to et stronger immediately. We don't have much time. He has immeasurable amounts of power on Mythra. Soon enough we will have to take care of forces that are going to come over to Eil. Until then you should be strong enough to defend yourself and the people around you. Since Anton gave you the black stone they are going to do anything to get it. Get accustomed to it or else they will take it away.'

'I will. I just got something for the Light element. Soon I'll master the basics. I don't know how I can help you over the-'

'By taking care of yourself. That's it. Don't worry about me. I'm stronger than anybody you know. So don't worry about me. Anyway I have to leave. Take care and... I love you.'

Hannah cut off the connection immediately after that. She just wanted to know how he was doing.

"Let's continue. I want to get the basics done very soon."

In the beginning Yila talked him through the essence of what the Light element even is and how it differentiates from other attributes. Light is an element which was the second one among the first three. Aether, Light and Earth. These three made up the first world. It then developed into different forms of Aether, ranging from little subgroups to hidden attributes which have still not been revealed, Light and Darkness and at last many forms of other elements came to fruition from Earth.

Light however has always been a special element hence almost everything pure is made from it. Every star and even the sun. In the beginning the existence of Light was common sense. It was used everywhere up until a certain event occurred which divided the world into different realms. Eil, Mythra, Skog, etc. and at last, the biggest one, Nova. That was also the place where the Light attribute was mainly present, up until the Darkness forces started establishing themselves and built an admirable force for themselves.

Right now only Nova had a Light presence because the other worlds had either lost it due to ignorance or war.

"As I've shown you, read these pages over and over again and practice what is written in them up until you've internalised the contents."

"Aight. I'm getting fired up anyways."

...

Johan spent the rest of the day training, not knowing what was going on in his house. When night arrived, Videl connected with him.

'Master, something happened!'

'... What is it?'

Johan himself became a little nervous when he heard her worried voice. He had never experienced her being this nervous before.

'Well, you know Cebrina, who tried to kill you? I heard a cry from her room and when I arrived there, she was already... she passed out. But she doesn't wake up when I call her. Her eyes are also weird. They look like... there is no soul in there. The entire room has a slightly green hue as well.'

'I'm on my way. Don't worry about it.'

'Yes master.'

SEEMS TO BE A POLY SPIRIT. WEIRD. THEY USUALLY DON'T APPEAR IN THESE AREAS.

'Then why are they here?'

SOMEONE PLANTED IT. IT POSSESSES A HUMAN AND TAKES OVER THEIR SOUL. USUALLY THESE THINGS DON'T GET OFF THEIR TARGETS UNTIL THEIR SATISFIED WITH THE CONTROL OVER THE HOST'S BODY. THAT'S WHEN THEY MAKE THEM GO CRAZY. IT IS SIMILAR TO SCHIZOPHRENIA.

'Wow. How convenient. This way I don't have to lift a finger. On the other hand it is weird that somebody put that thing on her. Who are you bruv?'

...

"Hahahahahaha! My grandson went after me didn't he?"

"I'm sure he did."

Carla von Parseval smiled as she took a sip from her cup of tea. Her instincts were telling her that Johan wouldn't be as strong as his cousins but she came out wrong. Completely wrong. He was already strong enough to fight for the school's top position. Only his older sister managed to do that. At least up until to the point where people still knew about her existence.

"I'm feeling refreshed after this meeting. Life if starting to make fun again, isn't it?"

He seemed very fired up. So much so that even his pupils became slightly red. He gripped his hands tightly and grinned even wider than before.

"Let them come. They'll see what I will do to them."

"Be careful. They're going to prepare as well."

"Ah, my little Carla. Don't you dare underestimate me."

He put his hand under her chin and lifted it up slightly. Her cheeks blushed a light rose colour.

"I didn't do that. I'm just worried that something... might happen to you."

Thimaeuss suddenly lifted her up and looked her in the eyes.

"You cute little pumpkin. What should I do with you?"

He asked her sarcastically.

"Stop! Put me down."

She blushed even more as the servants looked up and saw her being carried by the patriarch.

...

"There you are, master Johan."

"Rachel, how are things going?"

"Very weird. She seems awake and asleep at the same time."

They went up to her room and to Johan's surprise, it almost looked like a dream. The atmosphere was very sluggish. Almost unreal. And there was this musty stench that made the two of them a little nauseated.

"Hmpf. What- what in the world is this?"

"Didn't you check on this, earlier?"

Johan asked her surprised. He thought that Rachel had seen the Cebrina's possessed body.

"No. It was only Videl who did. She didn't allow us to go in because she had no idea what was going on."

"Hmm, I see. Anyways, open the window first."

The body of Cebrina was leaning against the wall. Videl had moved it there after she had tried to wake her up. It looked like a dead body from a movie. The eyelids were slightly open and her mouth had a gap.

DEFINITELY A CASE OF THE SPIRIT.

'What am I supposed to do now? Lifting the spirit?'

I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT'S GOING TO BE SUPER DIFFICULT BUT IF YOU CAN PULL IT OFF THEN YOU'VE BASICALLY MASTERED THE ART OF SPIRIT BENDING.

In deep thoughts Johan didn't notice Yila jumping to the side of the body and carefully observing it.
