Academy (1)

Johan woke up early in the morning. After yesterdays talk with his grandfather and later his learning session with Bahamut made him realise that he had to get accustomed to this world quickly. Thankfully, Bahamut was on his side.

Leaving the main mansion, Johan took a drive to the academy. This time around, the commute took three hours since the academy lied in the capital of Germania, Frankheim.

He departed from his parents and his sister yesterday evening, after Videl told him about the fact, that the academy had planned a crash course for newbie Rankers. Other than Adrian, who had told him earlier about his attendance of Euros Academy, the girl named Hwaa, was also enlisted to go there. This was a good opportunity to meet other Rankers and assess one's own abilities.

Arriving at his new dorm, Johan remembered that he is from a filthy rich family and the new 'dorm' was actually a pant house. Not even a regular one, no, one of the biggest in that area in fact.

In the entrance, two bodyguards with the von Parseval Group logo on their suits were on duty. After greeting them, Johan went in and met an unexpected guest. Videl was wearing a maid outfit and preparing beverages. Noticing Johan, she immediately greeted him and offered something to drink.

"Videl, I wasn't expecting you here. Are you going to be working here from now on?"

"Yes, Lord von Parseval. From now on it is my duty to take care of you. The patriarch ordered this."

"I see. Well, you can continue what you were doing. I'm going to explore the house a bit more."

"As is your command."

Johan started looking around. The reason why he wanted to explore the house, was to see if there was a place where he could practice alone. He found a gym and even a swimming lane. Sadly, there was not ware house for enough training place.

'Well, I've got loaded parents so that shouldn't be a problem. I do have to get some of my own resources though.'

Finishing the exploration, he called his father and asked for a private training facility near his house. He would have to temporarily rely on his family for support until his feet had set in some sort of business. He definitely needed more power if he wanted to find out what had happened to his brother and why the family crystal was broken.

Meeting Videl downstairs he asked her a little about herself and how she became a maid in the von Parseval family.

"Usually, maids are girls either from orphan houses or they are children from side families whose Ranks are too late to be really invested in. Their potential as a maid for a higher ranked individual is higher than trying to get their own much higher Ranks. That is only for girls though. Guys become bodyguards or Butlers."

She looked a little nervous when she talked to him.

LORD JOHAN, SHE IS HIDING SOMETHING. SHE WAS NOT AS NERVOUS BEFORE.

He didn't really know her yet so waiting until their bond had strengthened, seemed like the better option.

"I see. Do you like your job?"

Putting her finger on her lips, she looked sideways.

"Well,,, it's alright. I'm grateful that I can work for the von Parseval family." Seeming a little uncertain, she gave a half-answer.

"Well, make sure to feel like your at home. From now on you have to take care of this place when I'm not here. Oh, also are you a Ranker?"

"Yes, I already had my ceremony."

"Alright. I just called father and he will get a training facility ready. Make sure to check it out when the his butler comes over."

"As is your wish."

...

Johan was thinking about the past few days. Not only did he get some sort of abilities but also got a entirely new vision about the world. He had so many questions but it seemed like it would take some time to get the answers.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

'Bahamut, did you get the stats of Videl, Adrian and Hwaa?'

YES, YOUR LIEGE. I CAN ALSO SHOW ADDITIONAL DATA. SINCE YOUR ABILITY TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE'S STATS ON A LOWER LEVEL YOU CANNOT SEE SOME OF THE NFORMATION. YOU WANT TO SEE THEM?

'Yes.', Johan said with a surprised look on his face. He had used his ability to see Videl's stats but he only saw the regular ones.

'How good are these stats and what does the potential mean?'

THEY ARE VERY DECENT STATS FOR A BEGINNER. HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET STRONG QUICKLY. TANKS HAVE EXTREME ADVANTAGE IN THE EARLIER STAGES AS A RANKER. THE POTENTIAL SHOWS THE MAXIMUM THAT RANK CAN GO TO IF TRAINED PROPERLY. THAT IS VERY RARE THOUGH. USUALLY VERY FEW PEOPLE CAN ACHIEVE THAT.

'Interesting.'

STATS:

Videl da Silva

'Woah! An SS Rank potential. How is it that high?'

WELL HER CORE IS SEVERLY DAMAGED DUE TO AN INJURY. YOU CAN HEAL SOME OF THEM WITH YOUR ABILITY CALLED 'LIGHT ABSORBTION'. IT CAN HEAL OTHER PEOPLE'S DAMAGE TO A CERTAIN DEGREE AS WELL. IT IS LIMITED THOUGH BECAUSE IT IS A C RANK ABILITY.

Johan out both of his hands together.

'So if I heal her she gets to have some of her abilities back.'

Johan after pondering for a while had a smirk on his face.

'Let's do that.'

STATS:

Hwaa von Parseval (Lee)

SPD: 51

MANA: 42

SPA: 1: Roaring Phoenix (A) (Potential: SSS)

2: Quick Sword (B-) (Potential: S)

Ability: 1: Can utilize fire power and form fire attacks. Ultimate form requires a lot of Mana and makes the user transform into a phoenix. Stronger on full moon and new moon.

2: Assassin of short swords. Agile but fierce.

Limits: Transformation limit. Two bloodlines. One unavailable.

AS I TOLD YOU YESTERDAY HER BLOODLINE IS EXTREMELY STRONG. SHE CAN ACCESS IT IF SHE FINDS AN ARTIFACT THAT UNLOCKS IT.

'An artifact that helps her unlock it?'

YES. IT IS EXTREMELY RARE BUT CAN BE ACCESSED THROUGH DIMENSIONARY GATES. PERHAPS THE FAMILY EVEN HAS ONE.

'That would make it a lot better. If I could do that then making her a Shadow Slave will be worth it. Same with Videl.'

Looking back the driver reminded Johan that they had arrived. In front of them were extremely prestigious buildings. It was like in movies. Everywhere students were either talking to their comrades or reading or even checking out different abilities. Compared to his old school this was like an otherworldly place.

In his classroom he met around ten people. It seemed like the class groups were relatively small compared to normal schools. Surprisingly one of them was Adrian.

Sitting down next to him, Johan talked about the first lesson they were having. The school curricula consisted of three parts. Then physical, the magical and the mental. The first two were ability based training and the last one was somewhat different and was for ones connection with the aether.

Closing the door behind her, the teacher went to the front of the class and coughed twice. Immediately the class fell into silence. In front of them a lady in her late thirties was standing. She had a light smile on her face but also an upright posture.

"Good morning everybody. I'm your new class teacher, Mrs. Schmidt. I will be teaching you the basics for newbies and I'll also be your magics teacher. I'm very pleased to meet you. You guys are officially my first own class, so I hope that we get along with each other for the next two years. So who wants to start their introduction?"

After nearly two hours of explaining where what was and showing them around the training facilities, Mrs. Schmidt and her students said goodbye to each other and left for their first physics lesson. The physical classes were in a different building with a different coach.

Arriving in the next building, Johan and Adrian started discussing what the first lesson would be about. About twenty minutes had passed and the teacher still had not arrived. Becoming increasingly impatient the students did not notice a shadowy figure approaching them from above.
