Class 9B Lunch break
The lunch break was the best opportunity for the students to get familiar with each other and the campus. Our five heroes after their quick lunch went out to explore. The first trail dungeons entrance will happen in five days, which all of them were excited over.
"Shouldn't we get to the fitting room and check out the clones?" Asked Jim.
"Clones won't be used anytime soon. They are only used for the first few questing. We won't be seeing a real quest till we are at least second tier." Sam continues, "I think she was just trying to get us excited. Besides, the clones are used only for trainees. It's impossible to get the same reaction speed when we use clones."
"So, it's a no?" Asked Dona from behind Sam.
"No, let's go and check it out." Sam had never seen them this worked up before. Even Justin looked a bit perkier.
Sam took out his ID and swiped it to enter the fitting area. They still had over half an hour left of their break.
Seeing the new set of pests arrive to cause her trouble the manager started fuming with anger. He said, "what is it that you're looking for?"
"We are here to check out our clones. Thank you, sir." Jim requested the manager.
"The clones aren't yours, ok. They belong to the academy. They are also mass-produced. Let me guess, you must be sent here by that demon." He was gritting his teeth hard. They had to make a new clone for Lady Violet due to her body exceeding the normal parameters. This was true for all tier 6 and above questers but to tell a bunch of nobody kids they will receive custom clones was just… He knew she was just messing with him.
"Kids, you will learn more about clones and it's operation when you reach tier 1. You still haven't gone through your initialization. Just wait a few more days and you will understand. Feel free to walk around and check out the clones. You will understand." He said walking back to his chair muttering, "I should just lock the door."
Jim and the girls soon realised the issue. All the clones looked the same. The only difference being the height and built. White as a paper with no facial features. They were all ugly.
The rest of the excursion was boring. With Astra already constantly chatting about how great the school was, it was impossible to find anything new for them. Being an artificer, clones might have been the only things she couldn't have accessed. Seeing the restrictions they realized that wasn't the case. It's just that her tier was too low.

"Let's go back. The class will start soon." Jim said walking back towards the stairs.
"When did you become interested in history?" Dona and Maya were curious. Jim was never interested in any theory classes. He was always one for the practical ones.
"I heard the teacher is hot." Sam clarified with thumbs up.
The class became full right as the afternoon classes started. Getting settled in their seats, they waited for their teacher.
The teacher came. She had a plain robe and a witch hat on her head. Smiling she took a headcount verifying if they had anyone missing. They soon realised how wrong the rumours were. There was nothing sexy about their new teacher.
She started her introductions similar to the others. "You can call me Selvy. I will be taking your history basics this year and next year. I'm not a quester, but a historian. So, I'm only tier 2. You will all soon surpass me when it comes to strength. Haha."
She smiled, she laughed at her little jokes and then she started her lecture.
"So, what era are we at right now?"
"Era of questers." Someone from the back replied.
"When did the Era of Questing start?"
"3600?" There was a little doubt in his voice.
"Almost. The Questing Era officially starts in 3800 but the first quests appeared in the early 3600s. You could say it as little probing into the abilities of us humans. We lost a lot of great heroes during that period stumbling through the dark."
She continued, "Our first book this year is the Early Questing Era. It's a must to score at least 30% in this book to receive a passing grade. So, always listen to the lectures carefully, unless you want to go back and read the whole book yourself."
"Another question. What was the Era before Questing?" She asked.
"Era of Great Drought?" Someone sitting behind Sam answered.
"No, that was the era before. Before the era of Questing, was the era of culling. Before it was the Gaming era and long before those were the Great Drought era. If we were to plot a timeline, the great drought started in the late 2000s and lasted for 200 years."
"Then came the era of machines which lasted till the 2600s. The VR era took over and lasted till the 2800s. Then came the gaming era and the era of culling. The era of culling only lasted 200 years from 3600 to 3800. Try to at least remember the order of the era as they might come in handy when you go through questing."
"For the first month, we will be studying the Culling Era. Who can tell me why it's called the Culling Era?"
"Because of the Unification Wars." Said someone from the first row.
"Correct. You will learn a bit more about the unification wars at the end of the year. Just the outlines will be enough for the test."
Selvy stopped and looked at the clock, "if my memory serves right we should get an announcement in a few seconds."
As if preplanned, the speaker turned on.
"Attention class 9 students, you are required to complete the physical trial within Saturday. If you have any difficulties please report to the office after class."
The announcement rang three times and quieted down.
"You should all take the physical trial soon. It should help them start your initialization soon. I will warn you, it's not easy to complete. Make sure you get to know the rest of your party members well before." Selvy warned them before she left the room.
