Class 9B
Sam and the rest walked back into their class. It felt like an eternity since they had last sat on those chairs. Rick was still sending daggers towards their group as he walked in a few minutes later. A trainer unknown to them walked in with a list in her hands.
She got atop the podium and stretched the paper out in front. "Is everyone here?" She ran her eyes through the students and found all seats full. "Good. These are your assigned guests for the time being. If any changes happen we will notify you immediately." She started reading out the names one after the other.
"Mark, you will a company Lady Rosebud"
"Stella, Lord Ruphius."
"Jimmy, Lord Vicious fang."
"Kenny, Lord and Lady Cassandra."
"Jim, Lady Agustus."
"Sam, Lord Carnage."
"Dona, Lady Little Dino."
"Rick, Lord Filament."
…
…
"Justin, Lady Lasy Healer."
"And Maya, you will accompany Lord Brutal Savage."
"Make sure you guys don't piss them off and try and learn as much as you can. You can all leave now." The woman walked out of the class towards the next without waiting for a response.
"What's with the attitude? Sure they might be a bunch of high tier questers but still, what do they want with us?" Jim asked, furious. They were supposed to have fun playing the game, yet these assholes made him go become chamber boy for a bunch of high tier assholes.
"Since we are assigned to them we should use this opportunity well. I heard if they like you enough to get appointed as apprentices under them. Even for you, this might be lucky Sam. I'm pretty sure your mom won't be free to take you on any dungeon tours." Dona said, turning her head a rough 180 degree.
"Besides don't apprentices get a decent amount of skill tomes and gold each month? We would receive enough to gain a few strength boosts and reagent pills sooner than we thought." Added Maya. "Looks like we are sorted heavily towards the other sex." Mark who was sitting behind Sam said joining the conversation. "Anything to gain favour I guess." Replied Sam. "How is your wound?"
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"It's healed. There is still a scar but I'm fine." Mark a tad with anguish in his voice and the two started at Rick before leaving.
"What to do now? Get back online?" Jim asked as the five went out looking for Astra. Astra was found skulking around at the back of their house talking to herself.
"What's wrong?" Sam said, rushing to her side. "My guest already came. She asked me to join her in half an hour." She looked at Sam with her puppy eyes. "It's fine. It's only for a few days. Nothing will happen ok. I promise to take good care of him." Maya patted her shoulder consoling him.
"Looks like you can't join us today. Hope you don't mind. We plan on playing a bit later." Jim said. "That's fine. I'm already level 10. You guys have a lot to catch up to." Astra said smiling. "Got to go. I haven't yet packed up. I'll see you in a few days." "Who are you assigned to?" Asked Sam. "Lady Vinceline," Astra said before leaving for her dormitory to pack up.
"She should be fine. Don't worry too much about it. Besides, she is a retainer to House Valerie. Who has the guts to hurt her." Maya consoled Sam and they walked off to join the game.
"Shouldn't we register our place as party quarters? I'm afraid the girls won't be able to stay late otherwise." Jim said while Sam opened the front door. "It's ok. I notified the administrations. It's all done."
The five got in and started up their modules.
You have entered Jester Wildlands.
The system incited them in with open arms and a gift.
The event, Zombie raid night, starts in 2 days. Time remaining: 1:23:54:22
"Fuck." Jim screamed out involuntarily. The zombie raid night was legendary for its ability to kill new players. Tier 1 and 2 gamers had no chance of surviving the nights. By a miracle, if one survived, they would receive unimaginable experience and a ton of other rewards. To the Little Blue Hills, this was practically a death sentence unless they could somehow survive the ordeal.
Thinking up a plan, Sam decided to test out his luck. Zombies had a hive mind. As long as none of them finds anyone from their party, Sam knew he could survive. Figuring out how was the real issue. Thankfully Sam had learned a few tactics. Instead of attempting to hide from the zombies a better method would be to show themselves under a controlled environment.
Sam kicked the party into high gear. They had to figure out a party house. Someplace sturdy enough to hold an assault from a few weakling zombies but not too strong that the game would force a few to spawn inside. The best place to look for would be a bunker or miniature vaults but neither of them was present in the wildlands. Sam had to improvise.
Maya, on her map, scouted out potential stops for them. They had one day to find out the perfect spot. As Maya walked through the few spots Sam started working on his magic circle to create his spell as well.
They found a few good spots. The Jester Wildlands highschool. The place was large enough to survive a few zombie raids. There were enough rooms for them to trap a few waves inside. If Astra could get some free time, everything will work perfectly. They could even grind a few zombies into levels.
Then there was the abandoned Police station. The place had a few holding cells and a small bunker inside. This wasn't ideal due to the smaller size. The crowded the place was, the more feral the zombies became. But still, the place was much better considering the bunkers are strong enough to withstand for a few days let alone one night.
Seeing everyone work so hard, Sam was left with no worries but a determined heart to make the most out of this event. Death didn't mean much in a game anyway.
