C43-Atrophied Wings

I’m not even able to get out of bed for a few minutes, which is, erm… why is it that I bought this room again? God… I play too many single player games. What, was I expecting the entire world to just fast travel and suddenly a day would pass? Get a full heal maybe, with my already topped off health bar?

I guess I wanted to get all of my summons a room to sleep in? But in that I must also question, do they even need to sleep? I know Jasper almost certainly doesn’t, unless she gets rest from being de-summoned whilst I’m logged out. Can’t say with certainty if that also holds true for Jerry and Screech, but…

I dunno, maybe Jasper is just a whole bundle of false positives. Cause Screech eats, or at least really wants to, and presumably they’ll also probably want to sleep?

“Sooooo what are we doing in here anyways? You just kind of vanished so I just kind of decided to hang out while she-” Screech raised a wing in the direction of Jasper, whom was still firmly parked on top of the covers, and more specifically over me. “-was freaking out but what the heck did you want us to do in the first place?”

“...I dunno, sleep?”

“Oh! You know that’s actually not that bad of an idea I am kind of tired but personally I’d rather sleep-er, what did you call it? While de-summoned? While de-summoned thank you!”

“Oh, uh, alright then-”

“Right now please!”

…You know what? I’ll just roll with it this time.

“Ok-”

“Right now please!”

[Recall]-[Summon]

Right outside of the window.

“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-”

[Recall]

“You should work on that sass.”

“So should you!”

“...Shattup.”

“...”

…No response? That can’t be right-are they-are they already asleep?

[Summon]

…I summon her one last time, and… she just hits the floor, wings splayed out with her chest rising and falling, completely unconscious, nighty night, lights out.

[Atrophied] surely cannot be THAT awful. I kind of glossed over it earlier, what was it again…?

Having meddled with the wrong side of the arcane in various ways, your body has become permanently altered. Each point of vitality, strength, and endurance are 0.5x as effective. Using MP consumes stamina at a heightened rate, stamina cannot be recovered without proper rest.

HOLY Ffffffffffudgsicle? Okay wait a minute, I know I didn’t take as close as a look at her stat block as I should’ve, being in a hurry to get to town and all, but surely I didn’t miss something that crucial? What even is her stamina right now?

31/121

Dearie me, am I the asshole?

[Recall]

Okay… despite everything she can do, Screech is clearly a little bit more… specialized. I gave her a general glance prior to now, but I really should read up on this before I do anything else. So… here we go! Character sheet, open!

Skills

Basic Healing LVL 2-The caster may choose themselves or any target within 1 meter of themselves, healing them for 2+0.45% of their max HP rounded up for 1 MP every 0.45 seconds for as long as they choose to keep the skill active.

Enchanting Call LVL 1-Let loose a cacophony of birdsong, affecting those nearby in a variety of ways. Allies are healed for 10+3% of their HP to a max of 20 and gain a 10% boost to their agility, strength and vitality for one minute. Enemies are damaged by 1% of their max hp to a maximum of 100 and are “disoriented”, randomizing their agro to any nearby foe. Costs 30 MP, 30 second cooldown

Song of Wrath LVL 1-Let loose an ear piercing shriek, dealing 10 true damage to any individual that hears it. Individuals that are damaged by Song of Wrath are “disoriented”, resetting their aggro to its base state. Enemies outside the direct field of damage are instead aggroed towards the caster. Costs 10 MP, 5 minute cooldown.

Grasp Of Morrigala LVL 2-Target an entity and attack their mind directly with your full focus, heavily restricting their movement based on intelligence and level difference. With a wide enough gap, targets can be completely suppressed or harmed according to the user's will. MP cost scales according to target.

Morrigala Metamorphose LVL 2-Alter your form into whatever you so desire, diverting invested stats into any other category so long as it remains in line with the chosen form, stats converted can be penalized based on whether or not the chosen form makes sense. When inflicted with 10 or more damage at a time, the transformation is cancelled and 10 stamina is lost. Costs 20 MP.

Passives

Elemental Magic LVL 1-Gain the ability to create basic attacks of either water, earth, fire, or air. The strength of these attacks vary based on environmental factors and MP used in their creation, uses magical power for damage scaling instead of physical power. Magical power is determined by intelligence as opposed to strength.

Seeker Of The Divine-Having come into contact with a shred of divinity, your consciousness has undergone intense changes. Each point of intelligence is 1.6x more effective, each point of mana is 1.3x more effective. Your perception of magic is heightened by vast amounts, various illusions will fail to affect you.

Atrophied-Having meddled with the wrong side of the arcane in various ways, your body has become permanently altered. Each point of vitality, strength, and endurance are 0.5x as effective. Using MP consumes stamina at a heightened rate, stamina cannot be recovered without proper rest.

Diminished Presence-Receives less aggro.

Okay, so, I think I kind of got caught up in Song of Wrath and her two “Morrigala” skills beforehand. Read her “seeker of the divine” and crossed it off in my brain as another thing that’s similar to Jerry having a multiplier to his strength, side bar, how did that register as not important to me? Things for later.

What I suppose I should be concerned about here is… “having come into contact with a shred of divinity”?

…Excuse me? Okay, guess gods actually are a thing in this game, but I’m also not sure if they are the kind of gods I think they are. After all, it doesn’t seem like Screech is a follower of this god, given she… found a “shred of divinity”, as opposed to being blessed by this Morrigala? I can’t imagine the god in question would curse a follower of theirs with a passive as utterly god awful as… [Atrophied].

That’s a serious dampener on my plans to be honest, there is a finite limit to the amount of spellcasting that Screech can perform before she just conks out entirely without any room to argue. And it’s not like that limit will be easy to bypass with literally halved stamina scaling.

I suppose that’s why she was so hit and run, despite her obvious power. It would also explain why she didn’t use [Grasp Of Morrigala] against me or Jasper, since it talks about having the casters “full focus”, and if she failed to suppress us entirely… then it would basically be lights out using so much MP on us. Though I do have to wonder how she did so much in our first encounter without running out of stamina entirely…

She casted, I think seven fireballs, of great power mind you, so she had to have used a fair amount of MP… then she started flying around at mach something something eleven… actually, wait…

Her intelligence scaling is sixty percent higher, so if she puts her intelligence into a different stat via metamorphose, does she still get that sixty percent scaling…? Then… moving that fast without incurring significant stamina loss would make sense if your agility was around seventy… if that’s really how it works, she could even bypass her stamina faults pretty handily by just dipping everything into endurance, then hanging back and spell spamming…

Alright! I’ve decided! Enough rambling on and on to myself, I’ve got an idea of how these all work, therefore this must be put to the test on the field.

“...Jasper?”

She’s still blocking my way though.

“Mmmm.”

“Jasper I need to go do things.”

“Mmm!”

“Non-negotiable.”

“...”

“Okay, slightly negotiable, but you can’t keep me in bed all day. Things have to get done.”

I’m not playing this to lie in bed all day when I could lie in bed all day, but for realsises! I mean, I kind of already do that-SEMANTICS!

“...Mmh.”

And thus, the cat rises.

And thus, so too, does Koth. Get ready world, the god gamer approacheth.
