Determining rewards…
“Mrs. Samantha spoke quite highly of you, you know.” Matthew noted evenly as he handed me the silver coin. “For just a day of work, apparently you made quite the impression on her. I was skeptical about allowing a newcomer to work with Jasper of all our monsters, but she’s also taken quite the liking to you I suppose.”
“It wasn’t all that difficult.” I shrug nonchalantly, conveniently leaving out our little… escapade.
“Even still, that speaks well of your disposition, no? Tell you what, Mr. Koth. Would you be willing to hear me out for a moment?”
Must be for the hidden rewards given the game hasn’t given me them yet, so… “Sure, why not?”
“Would you happen to be involved in a profession as of the moment?”
…A profession? No, not to my knowledge. I’m a freshly spawned character.
“No, I’m not.”
“Excellent! Tell you what, would you be interested in becoming a Monster Tamer?”

Monster Tamer (Common)
Usage difficulty: * * * * * * * *
Note! The more stars a class is rated, the harsher its use conditions and skill requirements are considered to be! The maximum number of stars is ten!
Make use of tamed monsters in order to cover a wide variety of skill sets! Maintain your line-up of powerful summons to become a massive threat on any battlefield.
Skills
Recall-desummon any currently active monster of your choice. Monsters not currently summoned will recover 1% of their hp every 3 seconds. Monsters cannot be recalled within 3 seconds of being damaged. DoT status effects do not activate this restriction.
Summon-Call any currently desummoned monster of your choice to the material plane. Monsters cannot be summoned unless they are at max hp. Consumes 1 MP.
Tame LVL 1-Attempt to tame a targeted monster. Chances of success scale off of multiple different factors. Successful taming allows either positive interactions with said monster, or the taming of a monster provided the user has slots to spare. Tamed monsters may rebel depending on varying circumstances. Tamed monsters are lost FOREVER upon their death, barring certain situations. Monsters that lose over 20% of their hp from PvP damage will not be lost upon death. Consumes 10% of max MP per use.
Passives
Capacity LVL 1-Increases the maximum number of monsters you can tame by 1. (Max 2)
Communication LVL 1-Increases your ability to understand and communicate with your tamed monsters, as well as wild monsters.
Efficacy LVL 1-Slightly increases the stats and skill effectiveness of tamed monsters.
Shared Effort-all experience gained is split between yourself and currently summoned monsters.
Coordination-orders can be shared with subordinated monsters through a limited vocabulary scaling on the level of Communication.
Change classes?
Y/N
OOOOOOooookay! Wow, that’s a lot to go through! Let’s take this slowly for a second here.
Raising a hand to Matthew’s expectant face, I speak a moment later. “Give me a moment to think about it.”
So, this class is supposedly really difficult to use? Eight out of ten stars, and more stars means more difficult. And I guess I can see it. The first two skills paint a micro-management picture. You can summon and unsummon your monsters at will, so it’s on you to keep them alive. As for tame…
Bla-bla-bla you can tame monsters, they can rebel, that’s kind of weird, and-oh. That’s why this class is rated eight stars, huh?
Losing a monster permanently on death seems a little… ah, fucked up? I mean, there’s always going to be something jank in the game, right? Like, what if my monster gets one shot? What do I do then? I mean, maybe it’s not that bad, let me keep reading for a bit.
Alright, not losing monsters in PvP makes more sense.I can imagine if this class exists, that there’s also a good chunk of other cracked classes that can do some crazy shit too. This one is already pretty out there, and it’s only eight stars on the “difficulty” scale. There’s probably a few other classes that are super difficult to use but have huge rewards on proper usage.
Anyways, there's a bunch of passives…
Capacity, straight forward enough. Communication, also straight forward enough. But I do have to wonder how talking to like… a dog, would work. And Efficacy. Which just, buffs the monsters I have. Alright, fair enough if they permanently die. Now Shared Effort… oh my god this is a masochist class. Wait, no, no. Let me think of the positives here.
If you have multiple people farming at the same time that are all funneling towards one person experience wise, I suppose it could get out of hand pretty damn fast. Like, ten or so individuals all sweeping one location constantly, that could rack up experience very quickly. So, it kind of needs to balance out so you couldn’t just like, get a bunch of capacity and swarm a low level area. And with this experience share, it wouldn’t be an issue for new monsters in your group, it’d be great to have experience share. You could boost a new monster up to a high level in record time actually.
Now, on the other hand, it’s a problem because that monster which you’ve funneled so much of YOUR experience to, will just kind of… die, and uh, lose all of it!? I mean, I guess there’s a level cap in game so it’s not like you’ll lose an infinite amount of progress from some super souped up summon dying… but still, if leveling takes a while, that’s gonna be something that HURTS.
There’s also the distinction that it only gives experience to monsters currently summoned I guess, so you can try and micro-manage the experience gain as well… but constantly doing that in a battle with multiple enemies probably wouldn’t be a good idea. Only really applicable for boss fights.

And… Coordination. I guess that’s just how you speak to monsters, maybe it like, auto translates?
Alright, official Koth review for this class.
You’re micromanaging your forces on the battlefield without any proper skills of your own. You’re basically a commander, if that makes sense. I could see this being REALLY busted, because if you get a bunch of different strong monsters and level them all up, you’re basically a dozen different classes all baked into one singular character. But on the other hand, this is like some Untitled Battlegrounds shit cranked up to a thirteen.
You become a giga boss raid… but you can lose literally almost everything you’ve worked towards in one day if you’re not paying attention…
Hey, why is my hand moving?
Yes
While this isn’t exactly the speed blitz kind of class that I’d usually play, it does seem strong. And it seems like it can be a lot of fun too. And, and! This basically epiphanizes everything I love in a game. Huge risk, huge reward. Besides, I told myself I’d try some new ideas on this game too.
…And I’m not gonna keep my hopes up, but I can prooooobably get some kind of synchronization skill in the future, to like, manually control a monster. And if I use that on a fast one…
…Just a gut feeling.
“Alright, I’ll do it.”
“Excellent! I don’t think you’re much of a stationary type, so I imagine you’ll be doing most of your work out in the wilderness. But, feel free to bring monsters that you manage to tame here to do business.”
Class change complete!
New class, Monster Tamer!
“I’ll be right back with your official license, marking you as a reliable source of monsters for other Tamer’s Guilds. And as a show of good will, I’ll allow you to pick a monster we have on hand at a discount to start you off.”
Pretty good offer, I nod in approval as I once more restrain a smile.
“I’d appreciate that.”

What’s that? Why do I have two level two passives?
Oh, you know, nothing too major… just… just AN ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!
You are the first player to become a Monster Tamer!
+2 skill levels!
Oh mah gah. You get “achievements” for doing certain things in this game. And this is like, a permanent, buff, to my character, right??? It’s marked on a separate tab that just showed up on my character page too. Literally dubbed, “accomplishments”.
I don’t know how often you can buff your skills, so I just went for two things that are surely good in the long run. Straight buffs, and more monsters to use. I wasn’t sure about Tame or Communication, since both of those seem like things that aren’t really necessary to upgrade to me.
I don’t know how much time passed. I was, clearly, much too flabbergasted with this wicked development, but eventually Matthew returned holding a small card in his hand.
“Here you go sir.”
Obtained Monster Tamer’s license!
You can now sell docile monsters to any Tamer’s Guld. Whether they’re properly tamed or not. The price of a monster is determined by its use for labor, its quality, and its rarity.
“Thank you.” I nod quickly, and before I forget about it…
“Now, what was that you said about a discount?”
“Ah, yes, yes. Follow me, I’ll show you the monsters we’ll be willing to part with for cheap.”
