Extra Chapter 39: Back Home

What is this cute thing which hide behind mother’s back as soon as I got home?

I always thought a little sister would be detestable, but this child is so cute.

She is called Johannah. Or Anna for short.

She has mother’s eyes and father’s hair. But she’s also happy, calm and… just cute.

I don’t think we ever had someone with this kind of temperament here at home.

Someone who is smiling at all times. Jacen would smile when we gave him things, and All when he achieved things.

But the small one is happy whenever we are near her.

I guess she likes people. That’s how it is.

For a few days everyone was a bit tense. Grandmother told us that something was happening to Alvin, and managed to scare us a bit.

However, it didn’t matter much for me.

Grandma’s technique for raising one’s aura aggregate demands that I keep my heart calm and my mind focused.

So I didn’t feel it as much as the others.

I would share their concern during meals, but that was it. Training took all of the rest of my time, and in the end I managed to make progress.

I can feel my Aura Aggregate Amount increasing at amazing speeds. Grandmother’s technique shall give me an edge above the other people at the tournament.

My opponent will probably be one of the finalists from last year. They are strong, but I can do better.

Let’s pat Anna’s head for a bit. Your older brother will be fine.

She thanked me with a hug to the sides.

This child is adorable.

Alvin is back.

He has grown a bit, but he’s still….

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

I haven’t thought much about what we did when I left home, but suddenly I…

Uhmf.

The cuteness of a young boy is different from the one of a young girl after all.

I should go talk to him.

It seems his [Spiritual] talent has fully bloomed and he doesn’t need to sleep anymore.

A little bit of late night talking should be good for the two of us.

Maybe he has discovered something about grandmother’s technique, something to make it better.

His face is really ripe, isn’t it?

Jacen is a bit too old now. I can start seeing hair on his face, and his shoulders are getting larger.

I don’t like this. He’s becoming too… argh, I don’t know. I don’t like it.

But Alvin’s still on a good age.

He’s still…

***

Jacen doesn’t say anything.

He has peeked a couple times, and probably saw Alvin’s smile. So he’s not worried about what we’re doing.

Maybe he’s even a bit relieved, I think.

Grandmother is a lot angrier, however.

I don’t know if it’s because of what we are doing, or because I have been training less.

I’m waking too early. I’m not getting enough sleep.

I should stop this.

What am I doing, putting Alvin ahead of my training?

Ain’t I going to do something with my life? Ain’t I going to become a knight?

That’s right.

Enough of this.

I have gotten carried by something. I need to return to my training.

Once every two nights should be good, but no more than that.

Otherwise I won’t train as hard as I can.
