After easily exterminating the group of not-so-bright but good-natured fish, the snake unlocked its first skill, which it graciously accepted. Though useless now, it would come in handy when they would venture on land one day, the tiny snake thought, joyfully slithering along the water currents.

As it continued exploring the cave, which was shaped like it was meant to shield the lake, it discovered a dark tunnel, at the end, a dim light shone.

“Is this the exit?”

As it followed its curiosity, it noticed a bigger-shaped fish peeking from behind a hidden recess in the stone wall.

The bigger fish was living a simple and lazy life. It discovered long ago that the small fish frequenting this area were not worth the effort of a serious hunt and made itself comfortable in one of the recesses in the tunnel, which would lead to the dangerous open sea with death lurking in every corner. It was happy, content with its life of a coward, hiding away from any potential danger.

That was its way of life, and it never regretted it, but today something troubled the bigger fish. “None of the small fish came near here yet.” Normally, on any other day of its dull, boring life, the small fish would commute through the tunnel to the outside every morning and come back in the evening. It still puzzled him how these brainless fish survived the harsh outside world.

As its worries began to grow, it started contemplating whether it should leave its cozy spot and look for them. Unbeknownst to it, the bigger fish had grown fond of its silly, derpy-looking food and made a choice it would come to regret.

It moved slightly outside his shielding recesses, attracting the attention of a new predator.
