In that very place, there had been a war many months ago, undergoing various different states, after all, since the events of the end of the Kiri war and the end of the rebellion, the village suffered a bit more from great chaos.
Since after the final fight, they had to calm the entire population that had just nearly been destroyed by the Biju Dama by the very Mizukage himself. After that, of course, there were problems in organizing the entire village. Initially, the citizens did not accept the rebels and some people were against them after everything.
Later, the rebels were defeated and there were some protests, but most were afraid, which led to the expulsion of some citizens. All these groups that were against the victory of the rebels were neither executed nor imprisoned, just expelled from the village, since they had done nothing against the rebels, but also could not remain, as they did not accept the new government.
The following months were all focused on rebuilding the village and organizing the new regime with a new Mizukage. It didn't take long for the village to begin to transform and grow again, rising from the ashes.
Even so, there were a few more problems with organizations outside the border of the water country. Other villages tried to take advantage of the delicate state the village was in, adding to the fact that the village had far fewer ninjas than during the Third World War, many spies tried to enter the country to gather information and take advantage as best as possible, some even considering gaining territory.
For months, Kiri shinobis began to prepare to fight against any nation that tried to invade and conquer them, but without a world war, things were pacified in a good way and somehow, all the spies who entered the Water Country disappeared without managing to deliver any reports to their allies.
Then the village began to grow again, but continued to isolate itself from the eyes of the world, not even diplomatic invitations, such as those from the Leaf Village wanting to get in touch, were authorized, since the country was completely closed and could not be opened to any foreign scrutiny while they were not fully recovered.
A year later, the village seemed normal as people lived a routine similar to that of the Leaf Village, although the trade was quite different, people wandered through the fog-filled village, buying things here and there in open shops, while ninjas ran across the rooftops.
In a specific building with the symbol of the Mist Village, known as the Mizukage building, rebuilt after the battle Naruto had with the masked man, Mei was reading the latest reports while Ao was by her side.
"Well, it looks like we had an influx of 10% into our forces, putting us at 60% of the old Kiri... it's good that a new batch of ninjas has started to emerge and new ones are being trained..." Mei looked satisfied at the report.
But soon her gaze turned somber... "However, this is not enough, the mist really lost with all this war... but it was them or us... however, this leaves me in relation to other nations..." She murmured.
"Yes... Even though we recovered a number closer to our old frontline... we'll have half inexperienced genins... which is very disadvantageous for a conflict if that happens in the next few years..." Ao commented on the obvious.
"We have to be very careful in the coming years, after all, we cannot just place the weight of a fight against other nations on a few capable people in the village." At least we have a jinchuuriki who ended up becoming perfect, the Cloud Village is not the only one that has one.
"There are rumors that the Leaf Village also has competent jinchuurikis..." Ao commented.
"Be careful what you say, Ao. You're lucky he's not here, you know how dangerous he gets when we touch on the subject of his family, he would disagree with you in a way you wouldn't like." She warned and Ao ended up nodding.
It was no secret to the woman sitting at the Mizukage's desk that Naruto was the son of Konoha's Yellow Flash. But it was a subject that Naruto did not like to discuss and Mei knew this since she entered the rebel camp more than 2 years ago, but it was also not so hard to notice.
"But I've always wondered... between him and his father, who is the fastest ninja in the ninja world..." Ao couldn't help but murmur.
"We don't know... but something tells me that Naruto surpasses his father, anyway... let's continue." She ended the discussion and started to reread the report.
"Going back to the new batch of genins, many of them come from our camp while we were hiding..." She commented.
While Kiri was being bombarded by thousands of rebel ninjas in their right to counterattack, a part of the rebel army stayed to protect the camp, but there were many of those people they protected who were already training to become a ninja.
There were also ninjas who surrendered, who after the fight had two options, either accept the new management without prejudice against users of Kekkei Genkai, who would be spared and reintegrated into the system or had to be executed.
Naruto helped a lot to find out who had good intentions and who did not, with plans to betray the regime later, so a small execution began among these ninjas without choice, although the majority still accepted to join the ranks of Kiri again.
Mei sighed. "At least, we don't need to hide anymore, nor does it seem that just over a year ago, we did... it seems like a dream," She commented, looking at the fog running through the middle of the village from the window, while everything seemed peaceful.

They were about to touch on another topic when an explosion occurred at the door, as it was forcibly opened. A girl with black hair and eyes stepped out, and Mei looked at her, frowning.
"Did you need to break the door?" She asked.
"I can't control my strength sometimes." The girl replied.
This was Akame Uchiha, a member of the Uchiha clan who had come to this village and was accepted after fighting alongside Naruto, despite many people being cautious with her Sharingan, due to rumors of the Mizukage being a puppet of those eyes. However, her association with Naruto made anyone not raise any voice against her.
Akame also saved the village more than a year ago. That was enough for her to earn great respect. After all, what had reversed the time for that Biju Dama that would have exploded the whole village were Akame's eyes, an ability of her Mangekyou Sharingan.
And Naruto, undoubtedly, became the central point of the entire village, playing the main role in the battles. His powers were a great mystery to everyone, but even those who had some hostility looked at him with fear and respect, after all, he was a ninja who could take down thousands of ninjas generating a wave of chakra from his body.
In addition to his role that completely shifted the weight of the war in favor of the rebels, he not only managed to defeat the masked man who controlled the former Mizukage but also killed the Mizukage in Biju form along with Sanbi, something no one ever imagined witnessing. But he did it with a sword, starting to be recognized as the eighth blade of the mist, the executioner's blade, or the blade of light, as some began to call it later due to his strange powers. Naruto had the chance to accept any of the 7 swords of the mist, but chose to wait for one that better suited his style to appear.
"Where is he?" Akame asked again with an arrogant tone, typical of an Uchiha.
"He left 30 minutes ago... Went to investigate something in the west." Mei commented.
"Tsk." Akame seemed quite dissatisfied with that and she just nodded. "He didn't take me again... so I'll go train..." That was all she did before grabbing the doorknob and closing the door, with such force that it went inward, breaking in the middle.
"I'm going to be without an office this way..." Mei complained.
"So you already take this place as yours..." Ao asked with a playful tone.
"You know very well what I'm talking about." She looked at him with a tone of annoyance, before sighing. "Well... I hope he's doing better than I am..." She murmured, after all, Naruto was finally leaving the Village after years of resolving his issues.
Naruto was now traveling at high speed over the water, going alone after all, as he wanted to check something. As he continued leaping through the air above the ocean and heading towards an island finally in sight on the horizon, he hadn't brought Akame with him, wanting to be quick about this since he had another matter to attend to on the continent and wanted to resolve this first, a mystery that had not left his mind for over 2 years.
He hadn't changed anything about his style, still wearing his shirtless cloak, but his body was longer and more muscular now that he was 13 years old. Moving forward, he approached the ancient land of the Uzumakis, he quickly passed through a place that was quite familiar to him, heading to the center of the island, to a specific point where there was something he had long wanted to see, back when he stopped on his journey after Utakata and had sensed it with observation haki.
He landed in a corner of Uzushiogakure and touched the ground, feeling it was hollow. He looked around, the presence of ghosts grew stronger, he could even hear some of them if he concentrated, but he brushed that aside before transforming his arm into armament haki and punching the ground.
This caused an explosion that blew up the area the next moment. Naruto descended through the created hole, falling with the debris until he reached a room that was sealed, filled with fuuinjutsu seals with a huge door connected to them.
"Why are you here?" He couldn't help but ask, curious, and seeing all those seals to further strengthen the place, his curiosity grew even greater. He touched the door but the seals prevented it from moving.
But Naruto had an ability that could break this. He touched the door again more firmly and immediately, the seals glowed preventing him, but he continued pushing without being able to open.
"This can't stop me," He taunted and began to pull with even more force, while the seal kept glowing. Then he released a quantity of King's haki, after all, this was the will of his soul.
Then, the explosion began to envelop the entire island, but there was no one to witness such a thing. As he forced, the seal began to break and, gradually, he began to open the door more until he finally managed to break it, blasting the door backwards and watching it slam against the other wall of the debris he had already created. His gaze returned to the front into a room as he approached, looking curiously at a person trapped, the room had even more seals, making Naruto realize they were even more powerful.
The one trapped was a girl resembling Akame. Her hands were bound with adamantium chains as he could tell while she was suspended in the air, a blindfold covering her eyes, with many seals. She seemed to have some kind of doujutsu if Naruto were to guess.
He had a calm look, this person was alive somehow, and Naruto didn't feel she was someone dangerous or with a malicious presence, which made him question out loud.
"Why were you imprisoned here? Who are you?" He murmured, but then came the voice of someone young.
"I am known as Nanashi Uchiha, and I was imprisoned here due to the power of my Mangekyou Sharingan... a visitor after 100 years..." The voice was heard by Naruto on the spiritual plane, as he looked surprised, wondering who this Uchiha was.
