[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
The Land of Sea.
...
...
Naruto had finished while Kisame was no longer there; he returned to his group as they headed north afterward, going towards the Land of Water in the coming days.
"Did you really defeat him?" Utakata asked as they continued over the sea, with Naruto using Geppo and the others running on the water's surface.
Utakata was still amazed by what he had seen, watching Naruto fight on equal footing with someone who had almost defeated him while easily overcoming Kisame, even making Kisame flee. Moreover, he saw the power that defeated him while he was out of control, now believing that the masked man had done everything his apprentice had reported.
Naruto sighed at Utakata's question, which had been constant since they left the Land of Sea. He kept muttering, and Naruto decided to answer once more. "Yes, we managed to make him flee..." He murmured into the air.
They followed this path until they entered Uzushiogakure once more before entering the Land of Water, resting in another destroyed area.
"Light..." While they were amid a bonfire, the jinchuuriki called his attention.
"Yes?" Naruto looked at him.
"I'm going to talk to the rebels, but I will have some conditions. If they don't comply with what I want and don't let me leave... can you help me with that?" Utakata asked while Naruto, looking into the fire, nodded; he would help if forced to.
After that, they rested and set out the next morning, spending two more days at sea, crossing into the Water Country's border, while entering blind spots by the Mist Village's patrols.
After bypassing the sentinels and entering a forest largely covered in mist, they stopped in a clearing. "What's the plan?" Akame asked Naruto while Utakata stayed silent with his apprentice, after all, he knew nothing about the rebel group that was against the Mizukage.
"They passed the information in the scroll, although it's quite risky... It should be here, a valley between two mountains," Light spoke as he pointed to a corner of the map he opened at that moment.
"Let's go tomorrow before sunrise, so rest up and we won't make a fire here," Naruto said, and everyone nodded.
As dawn broke, they continued through the Land of Water, dodging patrols with observation haki and finally found two enormous mountains in the distance, surrounded by mist.
They proceeded into the area and despite the vision, but Naruto led them as they arrived, finally in the middle of a valley as the area had much cleaner air as they approached the place, and Naruto quickly felt numerous people approaching them with hostile movement.
Naruto raised his hand, while everyone understood the signal and stopped on the ground behind Light, waiting for the rebel ninjas to reach them.
A group of more than 20 ninjas soon approached, stopping in front of them, looking cautious and ready to fight against those 5 people, while _____ prepared to defend her master, but Utakata raised his hand to her.
"Who are you and what are you doing here? You have one minute to respond, otherwise, we will attack," he spoke with a cautious and hostile tone.
"That's Utakata-Sama!!!" one of the ninjas exclaimed in shock, pointing at the Jinchuuriki.
"He's back... but who are these people!?" Most should not know about the mission of searching for the jinchuuriki going to mercenaries, so they were confused.
Naruto simply picked up a scroll and threw it to one of the ninjas who opened it and began to read. "This!" He spoke in a stunned tone as he returned to Naruto. "We will pass the information to the command. Wait here for a while," he said before disappearing.
Utakata saw this and turned back to Naruto as at least 15 ninjas there were waiting for them. "Remember our deal, Light," he spoke, as Naruto looked at him sideways and nodded, agreeing with the man.
Suddenly, a group of about 30 ninjas emerged from the forest and landed along with the others. "You've returned, Utakata..." An middle-aged man spoke, looking at the Jinchuuriki with narrow eyes.
"Hozuki Seijun..." Utakata murmured, his face turning grim, this man was not one of his favorites, far from it, this man was malevolent and even dreamt of having the power of the bijuu in his hand, as he had no chance against the Mizukage, Utakata had been his target many years ago.
"This is good. Take the Jinchuuriki to the side of my camp and it's better not to leave these mercenaries alive, after all, they know our location," he suddenly spoke, instructing the ninjas not to risk Naruto and the others leaving alive while his hideout was in the hands of a mercenary.
All four behind Naruto prepared for the fight, as did the rebel ninjas, especially the last 30 who had arrived. 'This is not someone I negotiated with, some spy said he would talk to the command, must have informed him beforehand, his goal would be to intercept Utakata before someone found out. So be it...' Naruto thought quickly and drew another sword from his waist, which he had taken from Akame's scroll during the journey.
"It seems we'll have to kill everyone, I'll end this with one strike," Naruto suddenly said, as his sword began to glow. He could not afford a fight with Akame and Kimimaro, or even Utakata and his companion being hurt, so he would act against those 45 ninjas and eliminate them in the next second.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"What is this?" Seijun was slightly surprised by the glowing blade in the hand of the masked man and sensed a danger as did his men, unable to imagine what would happen once Naruto unleashed his power.
And he was about to attack, with his companions already wanting to move away from the area, but Naruto sensed another group of people arriving while he had not attacked yet.
Mei arrived at that moment, with a group, following a red-haired woman as they quickly ran to the site, while Naruto held his glowing sword, delaying his strike to disintegrate the area.
"What is happening here!?" Mei landed in front of the two groups, one with 46 ninjas holding kunais, while the other side had the famous Light, holding a glowing sword, which made the woman frown, imagining that he could cause destruction on the scale she saw in the bingo book and that would be very bad, after all, such an explosion would echo throughout the area and her hideout would be discovered by external forces.
"We are eliminating the mercenaries, we cannot risk them having our location, Commander Mei," Seijun spoke as if he had not been trying to capture the Jinchuuriki until a moment ago, at least he was honest about the issue with Naruto.
"If you want to ask me as well..." Naruto began in a calm tone. "I was about to eliminate a large group of your men, since I intend to kill anyone who tries to attack us here," Naruto said, already assuming that Mei was the one commanding the rebel force.
"Who gave you that order, Seijun? The mercenaries are handled by me and my men, you shouldn't do anything..." Mei spoke with a questioning tone.
"You want to leave these mercenaries alive?!" Seijun spoke again.
"Can you decide? Or are you going to keep chatting or when can I start killing you?" Naruto suddenly spoke and while the ground beneath him began to explode, with the sword beginning to tremble, reaching the limit of what it could unleash.
Mei frowned even more while all the ninjas in the area started to be cautious around Light. "Wait. Seijun, get out of here, you have 10 seconds, otherwise, I'll declare you a traitor," she spoke in such a serious tone that she even released her chakra sweeping the area while Seijun himself was afraid.
"Let's go." Seijun had to swallow his pride and look at his men. "I just hope you won't destroy us for this, Commander Mei..." He spoke as Naruto began to stop making his sword glow, not sensing any hostility from those new people.
"So, you are Light?" Mei looked at Naruto with a calculating gaze. As she watched him for a few seconds, she took her eyes off him and went to the group behind him, more specifically to the tallest man of them. "It's good to see you back, Utakata," she said calmly.
"Mei, it seems you are full of responsibilities now," he commented, as she nodded.
"A lot has changed since the last time we saw each other. Anyway, it's good to see you back. If you're here, does that mean you've chosen to come back and fight for this country?" she asked, somewhat relieved inside, since having Utakata back would help the rebels in this civil war.
"Not exactly, Mei, but we can talk. Since I need to confirm some of my conditions, otherwise, I will leave," he spoke seriously, while Mei narrowed her eyes but just nodded.
"Ao." Mei called him, and Ao, who was beside her, stepped forward, taking a scroll and tossing it to Naruto. "Here is all the money you asked for the mission," he said, satisfied that Naruto had fulfilled what he had promised.
Naruto nodded and tossed the same scroll to Akame, for her to keep. "This should be enough money for him to last years due to the large-scale mission, like capturing a jinchuuriki."
"I would like to talk with Light, Dragon, and the last member of the Kaguya clan," Mei said, "but first, I want to talk with Utakata, can you wait a while?" Mei said, but Utakata responded before anyone else.
"I do not intend to speak anything out of sight of the people who escorted me," he spoke seriously, while Mei raised an eyebrow at him, with no choice, she looked at the other 15 ninjas who were there and those accompanying her and asked them to leave. "You, leave," she said.
And the clearing quickly remained only with Naruto, Akame, Kimimaro, Utakata, his companion, and on the other side, Mei, Ao, and a bodyguard, a little boy who carried a large sword on his back and did not have a very confident look on his face, as he trembled a bit looking at Naruto's sword, while it no longer glowed, but one could see the cracks in the blade.
"I would like to ask why you want to say this in front of Light and the others, but that doesn't matter now. Tell me what your conditions are," Mei said and went straight to the point.
"Do you really want me to fight for Kiri? I will be honest, I love my land. However, I can no longer risk myself here. I've seen things I'd rather try to forget. Yet, I will fight under one condition," he spoke seriously.
Mei just watched him, giving him permission to continue. "My condition is this: I want Light to fight this war against the Mizukage with me. Otherwise, I'm leaving," he spoke, leaving everyone there surprised.
Even Naruto did not expect something like this. After all, he accepted this mission precisely to help take down the one who controlled the Kage of this country, with suspicion of that man being behind the control by a Sharingan as Ao had mentioned, and he knew very well that he could not participate in this war, even if he wanted to take down that man. So, Utakata's statement caught him by surprise.
