"Not bad.." Jason mumbled in between mouthfuls as he took another bite from the wrapped up snack in his hands.
Bènorīta..
According to what Dr. Damian told him, this was the trademark treat for the Old Harvest festival. Although the other party refused to disclose what it was made out of, the only words of reassurance he gave was that the snack was 'out of this world'
Being the skeptimist like he always was, Jason decided to try the snack for himself and prove Dr. Damian wrong.. as the son of a corporate monarch, Jason had been to several buffets and tried different Continental treats.. there's no way a random street snack would be able to beat them.
"You must be a tourist?" he suddenly heard a comment..
Looking over, he noticed a beauty standing behind him. Jason had met a lot of beautiful females both young and mature however for reasons unknown, he could feel some invisible strings tugging him towards this one before him.
She had burnt orange hair, supple skin and a well developed body, neither fat or frail. She was of considerable height and had a birthmark on the left side of her lower cheeks. Her lips were a natural pink and whenever they curved into a smile, the whole world around her seemed to blur, making her stand out even more. Her flowy well glossed hair was drapped behind her shoulders, accentuating the blue U neck bodycon maxi dress she was wearing.
"How were you able to tell?" Jason flashed her a smile as he extended his hand.
"Jason.."
"Jason Chris.. yeah I know you.." the red-haired replied with a small smile.
"You are a teen celebrity.."
"My name is Lara.." she added, attempting to accept Jason's handshake when the other party knelt to the floor, kissing the back of her palm.
"What's this? a King Author knockoff?" although she was saying this, the blush on Lara's cheeks was very evident.
"I wonder what the heir of a multi billion dollar fortune is doing in this small town?" Lara curled her lips.
"Heh. So you know. I'm pretty sure every news channel has been talking about me for months now.." Jason beamed with pride.
"That's the strangest part. Nobody is talking about it. The only reason I was able to recognize you was when I went to Memphis City to chase a modeling gig.." Lara replied.
"So how was your first shoot?"
Lara squinted her eyes as she gave Jason a smile.
"I was rejected. Apparently, you said I wasn't interesting enough.."
The pickup line that was at the tip of Jason's tongue instantly disappeared like a puff. This is embarrassing.
"I-I must've been blind then.." he coughed awkwardly.
"Don't worry. It happens. So why are you here anyways?"
"On a little trip with an extended uncle. I'm new here, so why don't you show me around and tell me more about this Old Harvest festival?" Jason quickly suggested, easing up the tension.
"Sure. Why not. I'm waiting for someone but they're not here so I think I might have some time to spare for a tourist.." Lara nodded in agreement.
"Great. Can I hold your hands?"
"No"
.
.
"That shiny gate you see over there is Peach Blossoms High. Almost every kid in town goes there.. " after about thirty minutes of touring the town, Lara brought Jason in front of a shiny school gate..
On the fence was a plaque, depicting the school's name, slogan and mascot.
"Dream It? Achieve it?" Jason read the slogan aloud with amusement.
"What?" Lara laughed, pretending to take offense.
"Nothing.. and your Mascot is actually a Bear?" his lips twitched.
"Well, don't look at me. The school football team believes the bear is the ultimate animal. Its huge, fast, tough and powerful.. just like they all want to be while on the field.." Lara retorted.
"And what do you think?" Jason gave her a look.
It was unknown whether he did it intentionally or not but he leaned closer, making their faces so close that they could each sense the heat in each other's breath.

"You're too close.." Lara smiled awkwardly as she took a step back.
"Honestly.. I think they're just being.. boys.. you don't seem to be impressed.. what was your school's mascot then?" Lara's eyes flashed with interest..
"It's very long to pronounce. Why don't you give me your number so I'll text it to you this night?" Jason grinned cheekily.
"So girls at Memphis City fall for that?" Lara's lips curled in amusement.
"Yup. Every single time.." Jason smirked with confidence.
"That's a shame.. you are a long way from home.."
Glancing at the watch on her wrist, Lara face plamed.
"I almost forgot my date with Julian.." she mumbled.
"Julian?" Jason felt a sick feeling in his stomach.
"Who is he?"
"Right here"
Looking over, Jason and Lara noticed an athletic looking guy making his way over. He had blond hair styled in a buzz cut. Although Jason was confident in his build as a teenager, he had to confess his inferiority when compared to the newcomer.
"Julian.. this is--" Lara stepped forward about to make the introductions when Julian walked past her, arriving before Jason.
"Who the hell do you think you are huh?" Julian shoved Jason to the ground.
"Stay away from my girl!" he warned in a possessive tone.
"Julian it's fine. Jason is just a tourist who asked me to be his tour guide. right Jason?" panic flashed in Lara's eyes as she gave Jason a pleading look to play along.
"Y-Yeah. She's right.."
Lara sighed in relief. She was just about to suggest Julian leave with her when Jason's next words caused her entire body to stiffen.
"..But if you weren't too much of an insecure prick, you'd have realized that..are you so unsure of yourself that you're scared of a little competition?" Jason grinned.
"Bastard!" Julian's eyes exploded with fury as he grabbed Jason by the collar, landing a punch on his face.
Crack!
"Julian! let him go!" Lara cried in panic when she heard the sound of a nose being dislocated. Julian obviously held nothing back when he landed that punch.
Pui
Jason's spat out a mouthful of blood as he grinned, exposing his bloodstained row of teeth.
"For Lara's sake the first one is free.. try that again.. and it's going to cost you.. pvssy!"
"Bastard!" veins exploded on Julian's forehead as he raised his right arm, clenching it into a fist.
Pah
A hand caught the punch before it could land on its mark.
"It's you!" Julian's eyes regained their clarity when he saw the culprit who caught his punch.
"Go home.." Dr. Damian coldly spat as he released his grip on the other party's wrist.
"It's your lucky day.. enjoy it while it lasts.." giving Jason one last cold look, Julian actually obeyed Dr. Damian's instruction as he arrived in front of Lara.
"Let's go. We both need a serious talk.."
Only after the both of them are left did Dr. Damian focus his attention back on Jason.
"What did I say about not making any trouble?"
"Tch. That insecure mad dog came at me first! I'm the one with the dislocated nose.. damnit it hurts!"
"Hmpfh. Quit pretending.. if I hadn't shown up when I did, what would you have done? use your Aura to knock him unconscious?" Dr. Damian sneered.
"You!!" Jason's pupils constricted..
How did this bastard know?!
"You really like the girl don't you.. to think she was the final key to breaking past my seal on you.."
"Seal? what are you taking about?" Jason frowned in confusion.
"How many times do I have to tell you Jason? we Kincies are forbidden to use our abilities outside from our jurisdiction.. our job is to deal with rogue Malevolents.. nothing more nothing less"
Without waiting for any word of refute from Jason, Dr. Damian added.
"The Old Harvest festival has ended. Let's go.."
