Chapter 283

Monarch Departure was a skill that allowed Aiden to blend into that shadows. In this state, he could go completely invisible without revealing even the slightest energy fluctuating. However for normal Magis, this didn't make them completely go invisible considering the fact that utilizing this Hex consumed their beta force, and no matter how they tried, they couldn't perfectly mask the fluctuations of their beta force energy signature.

As long as someone or something had a trace of beta force, weapon force or rune force, they possessed a distinct energy signature.

However Aiden was an oddity. He could neither weild beta force, weapon force or rune force. In his base form he was merely an artificially made Vampire thanks to the system. On a normal basis he barely emitted the slightest energy signature and now coupled with a skill like Monarch Departure, he was like he didn't even exist in the plane of existence!

However unlike popular belief, the Shadow Magis could cast their Hexes both during night and day time. However their Hexes tended to receive a sizeable boost under the cover of the dark.

Under the effects of Monarch Departure, Aiden easily made his way through the city. Just like he was informed, the whole place was like a military base, reeking with patrolling Winged Panda Men soldiers. He also came across their Weaponsmiths, healers, etc.

To put everything in simple words, Aiden was surprised to discover that the Winged Panda Men were not complete savages as he thought. Apart from the fact that they lacked the technology the Human race back at Nightshade Kingdom had, they were not any much different from them.

"This must be the castle" Aiden stared at the tallest building structure in the whole of the City. However more then half of the structure was nothing but a pile of rubbles, with the premises buzzing with Azure Generals and Azure Rangers.. and there was a lot of them.

A bleak aura hung over the atmosphere as they seemed to be engrossed searching for something.. or someone.

"Marie..." Aiden sensed a familiar presence.

"She did this?" he could still sense her energy signature from the bleak state of the Castle building.

"Wait.." he was about to head into the Castle building when he suddenly paused.

"She's not far away from here.." although he could hear the faint beating of heart from a distance, he could tell from her slow rate of breathing that she was in a really bad shape.

.

.

"Damn it. There's no human in sight" Marie cussed weakly as she hid in between two huge slabs of rock.

The Capital City of Hallowmere was actually built at the foot of a huge mountain while the Castle was built at the very peak. Whether it was as a sign to show off the power of the Royal family, Marie didn't really care.

Infact she was happy, considering it was these huge slabs of roughly shaped rocks that was concealing her. However judging from how almost half of the mountain was now crawling with Azure Generals and Rangers, it was only a matter of time before she was discovered..

Although that previous attack of hers packed a lot of power and helped in her swift escape, it had completely sapped both her beta force reserve and her latent energy.

As if to make matters worse, she was a Vampire.. one of the races hated by the world. This meant the time it took for her to naturally recovered her lost beta force was far longer than the average Magi.

However being a Vampire also came with its benefits. She could speed up the process by consuming blood.. however life always loved playing dirty tricks. The reason Vampire were hated in Utopia apart from the fact that a majority of them were Mercenaries was actually because of their diet.. Humans were their diet.. their blood cows. Although they could consume the blood of other races, it barely had an effect on them. Infact, it tasted extremely unpleasant.. only Human blood could satisfy them.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Unfortunately or Fortunately, the Human race were populous, more than enough to satisfy the appetite of the Vampires, however that also meant the Humans had the advantage of numbers and their golden finger (being blessed by the world).

So although Vampires depended on the Human blood for survival, they were also hunted down by these same humans who were their food. It was a ridiculous twist.

Just as Marie was mulling how long it was going to take before she starved to death, she suddenly felt a cold palm brush against the skin on her shoulder.

"Shh.. it's me" Aiden's voice rang besides her as he switched off the effect of Monarch Departure, appearing visible.

"I knew you were going to come looking for me" Marie smiled in relief when she saw Aiden.

"Tch. Unfortunately you were a last minute priority. My real target is still inside the Castle" Aiden clicked his tongue as he observed Marie sharply..

Although Vampires had pale skin, it was mixed with a touch of beauty. However the current Marie was extremely pale, with dried skin that almost looked like the slightest wind could peel them off her bones.

"You need blood" he grunted.

Although she wasn't showing on the outside, Aiden could tell that she was undergoing her own Bloodlust. However as an Adult Vampire, Marie had the self control not to show it on the outside..

"Isn't that obvious. As if to make matters worse, there's no Human amongst our group.. " Marie hissed angrily.

"Well, there's Oge?" Aiden's lips curved.

"Tch. You want me to feed on a child? she's so small I don't even know where to start!" Marie rolled her eyes before giving Aiden a puppy eye.

Except in her current state, it came out extremely wretched.

"That's not going to happen!" Aiden swiftly shook his head, already seeing through what she was thinking.

"I have already drank your blood. Its no big deal " she pouted.

"Oh are you going to just let me die? I thought we were friends " she added, feigning a sad expression.

"Think again " Aiden glanced briefly at the Castle in the distance before sighing deeply.

"However I won't deny the fact that you've proven useful up to this point. But I can't be your blood cow. In your current state, it would be a miracle if you don't suck out all the marrow in my bones "

"That's if you were a regular person. However as a Progenitor your blood is more potent even if it's in small amount "

"Is that so? then how much do you need?"

Marie paused a little bit as she greedily licked the tip of her left fang which was already protruding out from her teeth gums.

"Thirty drops" she held out three fingers.

"Ten drops then " Aiden nodded as he rolled up his sleeves.

"I said thirty!" Marie whined.

"And there's no way you were going to give a honest reply. Ten drops or you get nothing " Aiden held up his right fist.

Taking a look at his pale skinned wrist, Marie gulped heavily before greedily sinking her fangs into it. Aiden winced a bit as his tough physique offered not even the slightest resistance against Marie's fangs.

Vampires fangs were even more deadlier than their claws.

"We're done here" Aiden forcibly yanked his wrist after three seconds..

"I just barely started!" Marie scowled as she licked off the blood stains on her fangs.

"I'll consider the extra five drops as your future renumeration of our earlier deal " Aiden rolled back his sleeves, covering up his bleeding wrist that was refusing to heal.

"I need to stock up on Health Points or I am not going to survive this place " he mused to himself, completely ignoring Marie's whining besides him about how he had cheated his way through their deal.
