CH 29: SOMETHING TO PAY BACK

"So, I wasn't wrong."

After seeing those wings, he had a hunch, but hearing those words he obtained the confirmation. Hakuryuukou or the Vanishing Dragon. Only the wielder of the Longinus, [DIVINE DIVIDING] could wear such a title.

Showing a fearless smile, the kid spoke with a little laugh in his voice,

"Ahah. Old witch! It seems like you recognize me. Indeed. I am the Vanishing Dragon of this generation."

If Augusta was offended by calling an old witch, she didn't show. Still maintaining her smile, she asked,

"If you are present here, then your Governor must have sent you. What does the leader of Grigori want with an old woman like me?"

"Humph, exactly. He said, *Ahem* I do not care about your goal in coming to Japan. But, kuoh town is a place I like very much. You better not bring anymore destruction to it, or I will have a valid reason to act personally."

"I see."

She simply nodded and began to walk away,

"Walburga, let's not overuse or welcome. We have more important things to attend to."

"Ehhh? Too bad!! I wanted to play around a little more."

Walburga slowly floated down before landing close to Walpurga. The moment she reached her, a large magic circle appeared under her feet,

Seeing them on the verge of leaving, he began to relax a little, then, his eyes snapped opened as he screamed,

"Shit. DUCK!!!"

------

At the moment Agusta was drawing the teleportation circle, she murmured under her breath,

"It would be a shame to simply leave like that. Let me give you a gift as a goodbye. Reduce everything to Ash [INCINERATE ANTHEM]

*ROAAAR!!!! *

The moment she said those words, a four meters giant made out of fire with a crucifix on appeared behind her and released a loud roar that shock the surrounding. Then, he raised the crucifix and and swung it in a wide circle.

*WOOOOSH*

The result was immediate, everything in 3 hundreds meters radius was completely set ablaze by purple flames.

Nothing was spared. Not even the magician who were still present and who screamed in pain as they were completely swallowed by the flame.

Thanks to seeing the future, Azrael was able to create a shield to protect himself. But he was too weak right now. Burn could be seen slowly forming on his clothes and his body.

Thankfully, before he became unable to maintain the shield, the fire stopped as fast as it appeared.

Azrael barely stood as he looked at the surrounding in daze. Nothing remained. Be it the house, the the three or the magician. As she had said, everything had been reduced to ash. The only survivor being him and Vali who seemed to have headed his warnings and fleed from the danger zone.

A voice brought him back to his daze,

"This is a lesson to you son of Michael. Know that in front of true strength all trick are useless. Good day to you. I am sure we will meet one day."

"Bye-bye, handsome Onii-chan~! Let's meet another time."

Azrael watched with clenched fists as Agusta vanished quietly with her disciple. He never feels so humiliated and powerless. Just one sentence from someone who wasn't even present made this witch woman flee. Whereas his own threat of a potential war didn't even deter her.

'She even dared to attack me.'

He looked at his hand before slowly clenching them. He didn't pay attention to the wound that opened and the blood that flowed. He simply had to give his all to not scream in frustration.

Still, his body was completely wracked in pain. His clothes were riddled with holes and the skin on his hands was charred. One attack from her dealed much more damage than one hundred monsters created by Eleanor. Truly a deplorable sight.

He sighed before simply laying down on the ground,

"Evermillion, enter dormant mode."

He simply murmured and the spear in his hand vanished. He was tired enough as it was. Keeping her materialized was just a waste of energy.

Still, he was grateful. The only reason his body was only wounded to this extent was because of her blessings of toughness. Otherwise, shield or not, half of his body would have been charred at least.

'What a eventful night'

He thought as he watched the starry sky. Right now, he wanted nothing more than to simply close his eyes and fall into a blissful sleep, but he still couldn't do so.

"White Dragon Vali was it? My name is Azrael Gemini. I am grateful for your help. Your arrival was really timely."

The young boy that came back after escaping from the blast of fire scratched his head a little before slowly landing, his wing blinking away.

"You do not need to be thankful for I am just doing my mission. It was that old man who sent me. Still…" Looking around he said, "It seems like my presence wasn't very useful. That old woman was crazy strong. I missed a very good fight."

It was Azrael's turn to awkwardly scratch his head. After all...The house and everything in the surrounding few hundred of meters was razed to the ground. This situation was truly one of death and destruction.

Still he couldn't help but feel sad at the numerous life that were lost today. As such, he simply decided to change subject.

"So, let's be a bit more serious. I heard that witch calling the one who sent you governor. Only one person is called Governor. The leader of the fallen angel, Azazel also known as Darkness Blade Governor. Why would such a man help the son of the leader of the pure angel?"

Vali let out a smirk, but just as he was about to answer, the plushy doll on its shoulder opened its mouth and speak,

"Hello, little Azrael, I am Azazel. I really didn't believe it when I was told that Michael had a son, but I guess you're the living proof."

The voice coming from that plush was a deep and calm voice. Azrael frowned. He really wished for peace between races, but when the leader of a faction enemy spoke to you with respect and calm, then it's better to ask yourself if you aren't being set up.

It seemed like the plushy caught his reaction,

"While I'm not above scheming, I would never scheme on a little boy like you. I am currently in this town. It's pure coincidence that we meet. Or is it providence?"

"Excuse me, but what do you mean by providence?"

"Here isn't a good place to speak and you don't seem to be in a good state."

Azrael rolled his eyes. He didn't seem?

"*Cough* *Cough* Follow Vali and come here with a spatial circle. I will explain everything to you then. Also, before you try to flee which is admittedly a rather good solution, let me show you something."

"What about those magicians and the damage this part suffered?"

"Some members of my organization will take care of it. They will also wipe out the memory of every peoples in this city. This should be enough."

Azrael nodded, one of the reasons the supernatural world was never discovered was that most if not all supernatural beings had the ability to mess with normal people's memory.

Now that it was taken care of he took his phone and began to write a message to Dulio and Griselda with trembling hand.

'Seem like I will need a new phone soon. Too much blood and filth on this one.'

He thought as he finished writing him. Then began to write to Vasco Strada.

The place where the talisman sent people could only be opened by miracle children and some leaders of the church. No communications were possible while there. He needed Vasco to go open the gate. Otherwise Diethelm and the other might be forgotten there.

'Diethelm is a great healer, so there should be no problem physically, still, their mental problem is a different concern. I hope Vasco will be able to calm Irina and Xenovia.'

All this while, he could feel an intense stare on his back. As such, when he finished, he turned and faced the boy,

"Hum...Do you want something?"

The boy nodded with a serious expression, and finally said with shining eyes,

"You seems strong. Let's battle."

"....Huh?"
