CH 22: ATTACK OF THE WIZARDS (1)

Azrael closed his eyes as he tried to regulate his breathing. He could feel sick all he wanted later. Right now though, it was time to plan.

After finally calming himself, he entered a state of pure silence. All the informations he received swirling in his head.

The window of action was short.

The witch of the East was yet to be present, and out of the tens of magicians besieging the house, only two were a real danger to him.

The enemies still thought that he was in the house. The barrier he created made sure of that. As such, they should all be at the house.

Diethelm was no slouch. Despite being a healer, his physical capacity would put many frontliners to shame. He was also a very skilled sniper. So they should be alright as long as his barriers are held.

Do I have any reinforcement? None. The nearest church was too far. It would be too late.

Should I try calling for the angels? Too much time needed. There is no portal in Kuoh town.

Conclusion ? I can only rely on myself.

'Sigh… To think I would be in such a situation after my first outing. Japan is really a dangerous country. Thankfully, the situation isn't hopeless. It will just depend on luck and talent.'

The moment he thought that, 3 pairs of white wings appeared behind his back. At first view, those wings weren't different from any angels. But when looked at closely, little hints of gray could be seen.

' Let's go at full speed'

*SWOOSH*

Behind him, the two apprentice mages were seated. They were still breathing, but their expression was totally blank. As if they weren't even able to think anymore.

It was truly an eerie sight.

----

How fast was he when he went all out?

He didn’t know. He never used his full speed, and rarely flew.

But, right now, as the wind formed a barrier around him, and seemed to want to stop him from advancing, he knew that he could reach a speed near that of the sound.

But,

‘This isn’t enough. Right now, every second is important. This is still not enough.’

It was with this mindset that he continued to fly, while ever so slowly increasing his speed.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He was just in time to see the barrier he put explode, *Bang* but this didn’t stop him, he accelerated, and finally stopped, outside the barrier they had created.

He couldn’t help but frown. In terms of quality, this barrier was a few levels inferior to his. But, it was powered by a very large number of mages.

His frown deepened as he counted their number.

‘Fifty. Out of those, 25 are powering the barrier’

At this rate, things would turn really bad.

{If you use me, this barrier would break easily}

He didn’t bother answering.

“Everyone. STOP!!!”

He infused his voice with his own power. Transforming a simple roar into something close to a sonic boom.

The battlefield immediately fell into a lull. All the mages turned to face the source.

----

Eleanor, who had her snake, and her spider next to her, stopped looking in the direction of those four and turned to face the source of that voice. She was briefly stunned before suddenly exploding in laughter.

“Hahaha!! Oh my god!!! That Moron really came.”

The outcast from the Shinra clan simply touched his glasses as he said,

“I do not see how this situation is funny. He might be alone, but he is strong enough to make us suffer severe casualties.”

Eleanor let out a sneer, as a sinister glow flashed in her eyes, the words she uttered were absolutely merciless

“So what? That old bitch was clear. Our mission is to capture that moron. As for the sacrifice made? What does it even matter to me?”

Shinra Seijiro simply gulped and closed his mouth, he always knew that woman was ruthless, but now it seemed like he had still underestimated her.

After saying that, she screamed,

“GUYS!!!! GET HIM!”

Afterward, without caring about those she sent to what could possibly be a massacre. She began to walk toward Diethelm and the other. A cunning light in her eyes. She was crazy, not stupid.

‘If that moron dared to come despite the odds, then it means he cares about those four. Hehe, this is so funny.’

She had to have a trump card. After all, in which world could some low-class mage beat an angel? Even if it’s a hybrid.

---

Azrael watched as ten mages left the barrier and began to fly toward him. Mages could fly and didn’t need wings to do so. Even though, as low-class mage they were rather slow, but, well, in the present situation they didn’t need to be fast either.

“This is my last warning. Surrender I will not hurt you!”

This time, he didn’t shout, but still infused his voice with power. But, all he got as an answer was a barrage of spells.

The sky was covered by a wide array of magic spells. Ice, water, fire. Everything was thrown at him.

Still, Azrael didn’t even try to escape. He looked at those magic circle with complete disinterest

“This is a waste of time.”

A golden light covered his body, forming a sort of circular shield, before all those spells raining on him

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

----

The mages observed the spot where all their spells landed, the dust was still covering their views. One of them couldn’t help but murmur,

“Did we get him?”

“...I think?...No way he could alright after that right?”

Sadly, as if mocking them. The dust slowly settled before showing him completely unharmed. It was when they were seized by a feeling of dread that they heard him slowly murmur,

“I think this is enough. Flash”

*Snap*

All they saw was the boy snapping his finger, then, they were bathed in a light so bright they could see nothing else

*ARGH*

They immediately covered their eyes in pain, blinded by a sudden flash of light. When they opened them, they were surprised to see that he was nowhere to be seen, then, well there was no then.

They only felt a deep pain in their gut and blacked out.

---

Azrael slowly flew toward the barrier without looking behind him. There was no need to in the first place, those ten had no chance against him. It wasn’t just a question of class.

As humans, their bodies were simply too weak. If they at least used a boost spell, they could have offered some sort of resistance, but it should be their first fight against a supernatural being. They couldn’t even react to his speed after losing sight of him.

“10 out, only 35 to go.”

The 15 who weren’t busy seemed to have learned the lesson from their predecessor. They stayed behind the barrier and began to launch spells one after another.

{Even now you do not want to kill?”}

“Please, if you have nothing else to say, could you simply shut up?”

He spoke under his breath, before gathering light in his hands slowly clenching it in his fist.

“I have never done that, but I don’t have time to play around.”

He didn’t hesitate to rush toward all those spells in front of him. As if...He wanted to punch them.

*BOOM* *RUMBLE* *RUMBLE
