CH 20: SHIT IS ABOUT TO HIT THE FAN

Azrael walked in the house with a rather good mood. Behind him, two people were floating in what looked like bubbles made out of light.

Holy power was a rather interesting form of energy. Even more so if it was used in ingenious ways. This skill was called holy barrier. A skill that allowed him to create a dome around the user and protect him from external attack.

Simply by inverting it, a protection spell could became a prison. Most likely, there were more practical spells for binding. But what could he do? His shitty father never taught him anything, and he was too proud to ask the others, Miracle Child what they're told. Of course, he knew that useless pride gave nothing. But some feeling can't simply be tamed by reason.

He continued to inspect the house as he walk. For the house of a high-class Devil, the interior of the house was rather plain-looking. Still, when he looked around, he could see that it should have been a cozy home.

Sadly, everything was destroyed now. Seeing the state of the interior, it was a true miracle that the house didn’t fall.

He looked around and sighed.

‘Holy father above. I pray for the soul of those two beings. I hope that they can reincarnate and be happier’

He truly hated this feeling. Why did angels, fallen and devils hate each other so much? At the end of the day, they were all from the same origin.

Situations like this made him understand how far away his wish was. But, he wouldn’t give up.

“Now, when are you going to stop feigning sleeping? I didn’t hit you that hard. Also, don’t bother trying to send message. This bubble of holy power is completely interfering. Now, who will be a good child and tell me why you guys are here?”

The two stayed stubbornly silent. He didn’t know what should he do. He didn’t like violence. Even more so since they were human.

{Hypocrisy at its finest, my master.}

He didn’t bother answering Evermillion. He understood that it was truly hypocritical. But what could he do?

All his life he had been trained to kill monsters and devils. Even though he always knew that devils weren’t any worse than humans, this kind of propaganda left its trace.

{Even more excuses.}

“Enough. I have more important things to do.”

He didn’t have time to deal with her. He turned back his attention to the two magicians who seemed to have been a little scared.

“*Sigh*, look I am not asking for much. Simply tell me why you guys are here and I will knock you out. No will know.”

They still stayed silent. Well, there were many ways to get secret out without resorting to torture. He scratched his head and said,

“I guess the magicians of Hexennacht must have a pretty bad opinion of the church. But frankly, I don’t care about whether you guys are stray mages or not.”

They visibly flinched at the mention of the name, as such, they were clearly from Hexennacht. His desire to let them live greatly diminished. He had no bad blood against the magicians in general.

But, basically all stray were criminal. Magicians were a rather crazy bunch. For one to be branded as a stray, one needed to be even crazier.

Still, he didn’t let his thoughts show on his face, he began to lazily around and said,

“Since you guys are from that organization, does it mean that the magicians of Oz has began to move?”

*Flinch*

His expression became graver and his eyes narrowed. Hexennacht was just a minor organization. Behind it was one way larger and close to equal to Grauzauberer and Golden Dawn. This wasn’t at the level of a game anymore.

‘I thought that the Wizard of Oz were occupied with the five clans. What are they doing here? Let’s hope that none of the four witches moved. Otherwise, this situation will go from easy mode to insane mode very fast. No, simply hoping is stupid. I should continue to gather information. Since Hexennacht seems to be at the helm, then...’

He looked back to those two with a serious look, he really hoped that this wasn’t the case,

‘Holy father above, please everything but that.’

“Is the Witch of the East about to reach this town?”

Sometimes, silence was worth more than a thousand words,

‘SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!’

Cold sweat begins to cover his back. It was no joking matter. Despite only entering high-class. He was sure that he could win against most average high-class beings or flee if everything else failed.

Even more so because of who his father and mother were. He was only mid-class because of his skills. But, in terms of holy power, he was without a doubt high class.

But the witch of the East was different. She wasn't just any high-class magician. She was also the wielder of the Longinus [INCINERATE ANTHEM].

Frankly, this situation was shitty. It was like playing a game, entering the level 1 zone, and somehow meeting a boss class monster.

He unconsciously touched the mark on his hand,

'Would Evermillion give me an edge against her?'

It was then,

~du du du du~

~du du du du~

His phone began ringing. He took it out and saw Diethelm’s name on the screen. A bad feeling gripped his chest,

"Hello, Diethelm ?"

"Hello, *Boom* *Boom* You're highness, the situation is dire. We are *Boom* under attack."

Azrael could hear the sound of explosion on the other side,

"Diethelm. How bad is the situation? I am coming immediately."

"NO!!!. Please Don't come back!!! Your *Boom* highness. It seems like you are their target. Please flee!! I will do my best to hold them back here."

~Tu tu tu~

He slowly closed the phone and looked at the two in front of him. His expression impassive.

"I will ask for a last time. Will you tell me why you came here?"

They stayed silent. They heard the situation and understood that if they could hold on a longer they could be saved. Even more so since this guy here seemed rather kind.

"*Sigh* At least I tried to do it the right way."

He began to walk toward them and passed his hand through the magic bubble before posing them on their head,

"See. I was born with a certain kind of talent. Not the good kind sadly. I didn't want to do this. But you have no else to blame than yourself."

'What is going on?'

Was the last thought that went through their head.
