Day 7… Still no changes. The few slimes I had cut off have now grown into more slimes. They seem to be on par, perhaps slightly weaker than the original slime they were cut from. The creation of an unlimited number of troops could be possible if I managed to tame the slime. Nothing has seemed to work so far. Mind control, taming, even slave collars do not work to control it.
Some of the experiments I've done so far would be cooking the slime down. At first, it was a glue like substance, as I continued to cook the slime down it eventually turned into a plastic like substance. This would cheapen the cost of any plastic like inventions down tremendously. This process was very smelly and would take someone without the keen sense of smell to do regularly. I've also been experimenting with the slimes dissolving features. Only dissolving anything organic make them very good for trash disposal of uneaten food.
I'm moving on to experiment number 28 now. I'm going to apply a philosophers stone to it and hope it changes into something I can control. I exit the building I was keeping him in… I have no idea how big this slime is going to get… Perhaps it will evolve into a rainbow slime… I doubt that, it will most likely take a different growth path the second I apply this philosopher's stone to it. I start to get a little excited. I have no idea what he will change into, he could just grow in size for all I know.
I place him down into a clearing near my laboratory I built just off to the side of the fortress. I push the entire vial containing the philosopher's stone into his body. Slowly the liquid drains from the vial… After a few minutes the slime realizes that the vial isn't food and pushes it out of its body… I watch as the liquid swirls around, twirling around inside it. I start to assume it doesn't work until the liquid pools into the center of the slime… Then it hardens… Besides that, there were no changes to the slime.
I feel slightly disappointed that the change wasn't that dramatic… I guess I shouldn't have really expected much from a slime. I put him back into my laboratory, I'll decide weather to kill him or not later as he might still give me a blue mage skill. I toss him back in with the remaining slime, perhaps they will recombine and get bigger… I hear a voice call out from the direction of Shienta.
“Ah! A human, may I ask you for a bit of your time concerning a situation that has arisen from around here?”
I turn to see this person… It is an elderly man, he is attempting to hide an incredibly fit body in normal peasants clothing. I can tell he is an experienced killer just by his eyes… This man is dangerous. I speak to him now.
“What might your question be by chance?”
“Ah! I was just wondering when this fortress was built. It looks very new, I've come from the front lines of the war. Both sides seem to be falling back for now, I take it as a sign that the war will soon be heading towards all out conflict soon. I decided to visit my home town and visit my grandchild but the part they lived in was burned to the ground. I went to speak with the mayor and he said that the displaced citizens were put up here.”
“Yes, that is correct. I am the leader of the mercenary group that has built this fortress. You are more than welcome to find your grandchild, I can even offer you a tour of the building to see they are being well taken care of.”
“Ah! That would be wonderful young lad.”
We head back to the fortress, which isn't a very far walk. He walks in front of me, I can feel that even with his back turned he hasn't let his guard down even in the slightest. We get to the gate… He makes an odd remark at this time.
“Ah! Gnolls… Yes, I could see them making good guards as they are quick and loud. How did you force them to serve you so completely?”
This put me aback slightly. I've seen racism before but this is the first blatant showing of it that I've seen. He definitely said it loud enough for the gnoll guards to hear… This can't be left as it is.
“These gnolls are a valuable part of the army, they are more than welcome to leave at any time and I trust them with my life. Their are no slaves anyone who wants to is allowed to leave whenever they want.”
“Ah! I didn't mean to offend! I just didn't expect non humans is all, gahahaha!”
He bursts into a loud laugh as he pats my back very roughly. We enter into the fortress and he is put back by all of the commotion going on inside. People sparring and going through training. The sight of maybe some of the people he knew being put through rigorous training. The sight of many structures designed for jobs. The sight of the hot springs. Finally the sight of people using new and strange weapons he has never seen before. What would normally put most people into a spiral of confusion to where they would ask endless questions doesn't phase him in the slightest. He only yells out.
“Ah! Zelda!”
He is looking directly at a group of children playing outside. One of the girls looks up at us now and screams out.
“GRAMPY!”
The little girl throws the paintbrush and canvas she was using to the ground and rushes towards us now. She jumps towards him and he throws her into the air. The height is just on the verge of being too high for me to still feel comfortable as she flies into the air. He easily catches her without any worry and twirls her around now. She yells out again.
“GRAMPY! GRAMPY! WELCOME BACK!”
“Ah! My little Zelda, where is your father at right now?”
He is holding her with one hand looking down at her. I would guess that she is 4 years old. She doesn't say anything, only points towards the group of recruits we had gotten from Shienta. He starts to walk towards the group now. Not paying attention to anything else happening around him. Walking directly through those sparring. Right through a group of troops that are force marching at a joggers pace, bumping into those and causing some of them to fall down. The slight bumps don't seem to move him. Finally through the sparring match of Gobber and Green… Both seem to stop for a few moments to look at the odd old man cutting through the middle of their match.
He gets to the edge and someone is already out of the lineup of those firing their bows. I assume it is his son as he is standing up straight now facing towards the old man.
“Welcome back father. I take it you're back to get us for the war?”
“Ah! Nope! Just came to visit my granddaughter… So you seem to be doing well. Why are humans grouping together with these non-humans? Even those from the slums are better than non-humans. Why are you living with these… Pieces of trash would be the best way to put it.”

He once again says it loud enough for all of those close to him to here. I feel a twinge of anger start to form towards him, perhaps more than I normally would because of Wrath. I'm about to say something before his son cuts me off.
“We were from the slums. All of us would have been fodder for this upcoming war. When the portion of the slums we were from burned to the ground, I though my life was going to get much harder… And it did. It was honestly hell the first few days we were here… The leader put us through such intense training that many of us still have nightmares about it… But not even once were we mistreated by anyone else here… If you want to keep being an idiot you are more than welcome to do it back in Shienta where it is welcome… Otherwise please keep your bias to yourself.”
The old man starts to look slightly angry. Then very angry, he raises his hand to hit the man but stops. Not because he wanted to, because my hand was grasping his. I speak now.
“You might not want to do that.”
He doesn't even turn around as he speaks to me.
“Ah! What I do to my son is my own business.”
“You touch anyone in this fortress it is my problem. Please leave before I do something I regret.”
Everyone is now quiet… The crowds of people training have all stopped to look at the spectacle I am putting on now. I feel a huge strength pulling against me. If I hadn't spent so much effort on training he would have easily broken my grasp. Even with my incredible strength he still starts to force my hand down. Every inch I start to feel Wrath poking more of himself through. Finally stopping his hand where it was… Than moving it back to where it was. I speak… Or I should say Wrath speaks now using my body.
“Please do something stupid. I'd love to rip you apart in front of everyone. Show them just how trash fights.”
He now turns to face me… Instead of seeing a rage filled face, I see a smile on it. He now chuckles as he speaks.
“Ha! I knew there was something inside you. I could tell at the first moment I noticed you. That building beside the fortress was out of the way, how did you not notice I was intentionally trying to make you mad!? Gahahaha, you were so easily tricked!”
His other hand now pokes mine, in a split second my hand unclenched enough for him to squeeze the hand I was holding out. He now speaks.
“I am very sorry for being so rude to you. My curiosity gotten the best of me and I had to se-.”
My hand swings towards in an arc from underneath. It even catches me off-guard as it strikes the old man. Wrath had taken a swing at him. My body goes to move forwards on its own but I fight against it. My body shakes and seizes as I fight against myself. What I thought was a clean hit against him was a glancing blow that barely connected and most of the momentum was lost by him moving his head back. He doesn't do anything but take a step away from me and look at me now.
“Ah… It's worse than I thought. You have no control over that evil inside of you… You need to get it under control or it will get you killed.”
I hear Wrath speak now in the back of my head.
“KILL HIM! HE IS MOCKING US! WE NEED TO KILL THIS SHIT STAIN OF A MAN!”
“NO! He might be able to help us!”
“You mean help you! He wants you to get me under control! If you don't kill him right now, I'll!”
My corpse hand now starts to move with undead power. He used lich form on it and is controlling my hand completely now. I can't fight him! It is taking everything I have to keep my normal body under control! He yells in my head again.
“I'll kill these troops right in front of you!”
My hand points towards the troops standing behind the old man. NO! I yell out.
“Arm! Restraint protocol!”
The automaton I made for my arm now forces the hand down right as a gigantic fireball comes out of my hand. Scorching the ground and leaving a hole big enough to come up to someone knee if they jumped inside it. The crowd starts to panic now, people start to run away from me. Gobber and Green come to restrain me and hold my hands down as well. Wrath yells again.
“THIS ISN'T ENOUGH TO STOP ME! I'LL FUC-.”
A voice calls out. “STOP!”
My body stops fighting against me. Full control is given back to me, I turn to the voice, I already know who it is without turning towards her. Leaf is looking angrily at me. She yells out again.
“What do you think you are doing!?”
“S-sorry.”
I look down and she continues to yell at me.
“You swing at someone who has just shown up and you don't even apologize! Turn and apologize to him!”
I turn back to the old man. The smile he had on his face is now twice as big. I go to speak but he cuts me off.
“Ah! Sorry missy but it wasn't his fault. I purposely agitated him to see if what I felt inside him was really there… It is as much of my fault as it is his.”
“Fine then! Apologize to the troops who's training you 2 have stopped for this ridiculous reason.”
He looks sort of shocked by her answer than turns towards the troops now, some still returning after my attack. He bows his head and speaks very loudly.
“Ah! Sorry everyone!”
“Y-ya… Sorry.”
We both bow our heads… I am embarrassed, I'm the leader of this army and I'm being forced to apologize... I don't want to keep Leaf angry at me so I get over it quickly. I do apologize to the old man for taking a swing at him and I eventually show him around. It turns out his name was Wayne and he is actually a high ranking general in the army.
