Elemental lord of fire’s point of view
THIS MOTHERFUCKER! HIS ATTITUDE PISSES ME OFF! NONE OF MY ATTACKS HAVE BEEN EFFECTIVE! I WANT TO KILL HIM! I WILL! I’LL KILL HIM! I DON’T CARE WHAT MY GOD SAYS ANYMORE, HE’S GONE TOO FAR! I’LL LAUNCH MY STRONGEST ATTACK AND WIPE HIM OUT! THAT MOTHERFUCKER IS PISSING AROUND WITH MY PET NOW! DIE! DIE!
I launch my biggest attack! I gained this power by becoming the elemental lord. I haven’t needed to use this attack in a very long time. The last time was… When I blinded Zephyrus. The little fuck throws something out, a big see through vial of blue liquid. Whatever it is, it is going to be blown up along with that little bitch.
I build up the rest of the pressure I need to launch the attack. Boom! The shock from the attack throws back waves of heat. The flame is a different color than all of my other attacks. It absorbs all the possible air in the surrounding area to work, meaning I can only use the attack once per area until the air thickens again. There is no way he’s going to be able to dodge this! He’s dead! DIE YOU PIECE OF SHIT! It connects with the blue ball fir-.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! I thrown back from an explosion. Shards of ice and jets of flame strike me. The fire does nothing to me but the ice actually hurts! IT HURTS! WHAT IS THIS!? I’m thrown back more than 50 feet (15 meters) from the explosion. I dig into the sand before throwing myself back up. Shit, that attack knocked 6% of my health out of me. That little fucker almost did 10% of my health. If he had brought his army to fight… This could have been far worse.
My tent is completely destroyed… He took all of my harem… He stole my ice maker that I paid 2 gold for… MY ALCOHOL! Did he destroy my alcohol!? I run over to the scene of the explosion. Giant chunks of ice and glass made from fire touching the sand cover the remaining tatters of tent that were left behind. Sheets of paper also cover the ground and say something on it but I don’t give a shit right now. I search for about a minute before I finally find it…
Both casks have been completely smashed… I… A tear begins to form on my face. Damn it, that was a special alcohol you can’t get anywhere! It’s made in a single village in the eastern continent. I found it while traveling, something called whiskey and it is very expensive. I slam my fists into the ground over and over again. FUCKING DAMN HIM! I’LL KILL HIM! I’LL KILL EVERYONE HE LOVES FOR THIS!
No! No… I have to think this through. Not taking him seriously is how I ended up like this. It doesn’t matter how much stronger I am then him, if I go in unprepared I might not make it out alive… Plus the god of death will get on me about killing him if I do. What should I do then? Hmm, first thing is first. I should read what all of these papers say.
Most of the paper was destroyed from the attack. Perhaps that’s why he had thrown so many… So he had planned for that final attack since before the fight even started. Kite could prove to be an extremely dangerous enemy. I pick up one of the pieces with minimal damage. Drawn all of it is the same 3 sentences over and over again.
“We’re even now. I’m letting your harem go so if any of them actually love you, they will come back. If you try to make any attempt against my army, I will bring the strength of the other elemental lords down upon you.”
Ehh… I was kind of getting sick of them anyways. I’m far more concerned about my lack of whiskey. So I guess I’ll head east for now… After I get another 2 barrels of whiskey, I should probably head to northwest after that. With the war starting soon, I might get a chance to kill Leaf cleanly. I grab some of the remaining tattered tent and wrap it around me using it as a cloak. He will regret coming at me directly as he did soon enough.
Kite’s point of view
“Hello, you might not know me but for now you are in my fortress. If you’d like to go back to the elemental lord of fire you are more than welcome to but… To be honest he had you all on a drug that made you… Less of yourself than normal. You are more than welcome to stay or leave. If you actually do want to go back to the elemental lord I can give you supplies to make it back.”
Standing in front of me are about a dozen women the elemental lord had in his harem. All of them are… Different to say the least. Some of the most powerful fire elementals are here. It goes without saying that any that would stay would add to the power of our army. Each could be on the same level as Red if I really think about it. None of them up and attacked me when I cleansed them at least.
After saying this about half of them stand up and leave. Only 6 remain. One of them being a fire salamander. She has some intense eyes that almost look like fire is about to come out of them. Most of her scales are colored red except for her face which leads down to her cleavage being a white color. I had given them all gowns but she chose to leave hers open… She might have some charm type skill like Blue… Or she could have so much exposed skin because it is more comfortable than wearing clothing.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
The next one is a fire monkey type girl. She looks the most human… The only reason I assume she came from a monkey type monster is… Unlike the rest she is very talkative and as soon as I cleansed her she asked for some food, primarily banana’s if I had any. She also acts very monkey like. Picking flees off one of the gnolls that had been assigned to guard the portals and eating them. She has long red hair, almost reaching the floor and she is one of the shorter ones that stayed.
The third girl seems to be a fire ant type monster… If I tamed one of the bee’s, perhaps I could change one into an elemental pet as well… Maybe that would change the taste of the honey. She looks like a giant fire ant bug lady. I don’t think she understands common, so she will most likely leave at some point when she realizes we aren’t holding her hostage.
The fourth is a giant lion type fire elemental. She’s the tallest, about 7 feet (2 meters) tall. She is about my eye level. She is slightly taller than me actually. I’m about a head taller than almost all of my other troops. Besides a few irregulars like Strong, Tough, Zergnar, Sock and Darkclaw. She’s most likely very strong. All of the girls have red colored hair except for her. Hers is orange and yellow with piercing blue eyes.
Finally, the last 2 appear to be twin baret sprites. Barets are the fire equivalents of sylphs. Their hair is literal flames. Both have a very similar look to Silky’s except… Fire instead of air. Both are rather short, maybe 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall… It seems that both are very shy, neither speaking at any time since their cleansing… Once again they may leave once they realize they are not captives… I’d like to try and relearn the fairy language before they go. Perhaps their dialect differences from Silky will be enough for me to learn it quickly from osmosis again.
Leaf approaches the group now.
“Alright, I’m sure most of you are hungry. Lets go get you some food.”
She leans in close to me and whispers.
“We’ll talk about you going to fight the fire lord by yourself later.”
She ushers the new members of the army away… I start to feel bad about fighting him by myself but I had to. Risking the lives of my troops and generals wouldn’t have helped me accomplish what I was trying to do. I truly think I could have defeated the fire lord with help but it would have been at too grave of a cost. No doubt he would have killed many of my generals and a good portion of the army. This was the only path where none of them would have gotten hurt.
It's nightime already but I can’t rest. I need to head to Merideth right away for the war strategy meeting. It would have been nice to have all of my troops there to show what I’m working with but showing my trump cards for everyone to understand is my main objective. It would also be nice to be on the same page as everyone. Therefore, I’ll need to start moving all of my giant automatons too Merideth.
This will function as the first flight test of the black dragon and I can have my troops force march to the capital in a few days. If everything goes smoothly it should only take the black dragon a single day of flying to make it to the capital. I head there to start the preparations for the flight. I wake up some of the sleeping crew who have decided to move their beds into the engineering room. I start preparing for the launch and I send word to Gobber to wake the rest of the troops and march them towards the capital.
“Make sure the mana canisters are tethered down, we don’t want them rocking. You three, we have enough help here, go start the preparations for the black turtles to be used as transports for some of the troops. We need someone to go ask the medical bay for those prototypes I made to show the king. Actually go get all of the new equipment and some of the portal slabs, we’ll take them so they wont need to be brought through a portal later.”
I finish barking orders and the uneasy feeling I had before the first flight is back. This could end badly, if it fails the plans for the war become far more complicated. First, not knowing if they have any air units is a big factor to holding any base. Second, losing a giant automaton ruins the power of the weak troops that control it. That would be a huge loss in the power of the army if it didn’t work. I take in a deep breath before I finally issue the command.
“Ready for takeoff, we need this to work.”
It should work. The changes we’ve made to it to reduce the overall weight while strengthening the weak points should have been enough… I added safety measures as a precaution as well. Lining the inside with enough rubber and cloth that if it did fall out of the sky. As long as we aren’t hundreds of feet in the air, most people wouldn’t even be injured. The engine tenders load in the mana canisters to start it. We’ll see if the changes are enough now.
It powers up. The dragon shakes and whirs to life. The driver pulls levers and shifts the dragon from standby or ground mode into flight mode. The rest of the crew are moving around, doing their respective jobs. This launch was mostly uneventful compared to the first flight test. Very few people even knew we were doing it. That is until I was airborne, everything seems to be in order but flying stationary and moving in the air are two completely different things. I yell out.
“Alright! Let’s shift into the first gear!”
The driver pushes one of the levers forwards. As he does we start to edge towards Shienta at a snails pace at first. Slowly speeding up to a moderate speed. We’re going to fly very close to the town. We fly over the troops who have started to gather for the march. I only see a few of their faces, the looks of amazement are very clearly seen. I close the side hatch I was looking out of. I yell out.
“Alright! Let’s speed up a bit! Shift into the second gear!”
The engine tenders load in another set of mana canisters into the second engines. The driver pushes another lever forward. Gears shift into place and another set of gears are powering the wings now. The speed increases by almost double what we were going at…
This is the uneasy feeling I was worried about. Unlike flying in an animal form, an uneasy feeling comes from flying inside this automaton. It feels like it is ready to fall apart at any moment but it seems to be holding. In order to make it to Merideth by morning we need to be going this speed.
We almost reach the outskirts of Shienta, we wont fly directly over it for fear of being far to noticed and if the worst happens over a city it could be catastrophic. One of the crew members opens the door and throws up out of it. I’m worried and move over to him but someone on the other side of the dragon opens another hatch and does the same. Whats going on? Is it because of the difference in air pressure up here and they aren’t used to it? After asking them both it seems the motion of the ship is upsetting them.
So it’s like motion sickness people get from boats. I hadn’t really taken into account people not being able to handle traveling. With this movement some of the uneasy feeling I have might be contributed to this as well. We pass by Shienta, I have no doubt that many people looked on in amazement or fear at the gigantic black dragon flying in close proximity to the city. The rest of the trip isn’t eventful, people throw up and look terribly sick. I’ll need to find a way to reduce the motion in some way or just make it easier for the people getting sick.
We travel through the night and by morning we will be at Merideth.
