Purple's point of view
My elemental lord's location was most likely the furthest away, being on the opposite side of the central continent. I should still beat a few of them back once I'm done here. I could have possibly been the first to make it their and back if I had flown in a straight line. I keep getting sidetracked, each new thing I saw wanted to explore. I saw the constant battle for survival that every other creature in the area took part in. Many tried to attack me, thinking I would be a quick meal, none fast enough to catch me. The few times where I had multiple things chasing me some poison and wind needles deter them to continue to chase. I was even chased by a dragon at one point, perhaps because of his curiosity with me, he didn't make much of an attempt to catch me though.
The feeling in my stomach has been guiding me. Every time I start to stray too far it pulls me back on track… Which is annoying, I guess it is part of being tied to the wind element though, I need to meet with the head. That sounds boring to me though, I am only doing it because of a driving force in my stomach. Speaking of my stomach driving me… I need to find some food.
I've been living off small bugs and the occasional tree with fruits in it, I see a patch of trees. This seems like a good place to restock my supply of fresh fruits. It is some type of fruit I haven't seen before… I think master might like to see this. I grab as many as I can carry and put them into the void pouch master had made for me. It was also enchanted to reduce the weight of everything put inside. Taking off, I know I am getting close.
My gut leads me down into a windy canyon. If I didn't have control over wind it would be impossible for me to enter… That being said, even with control I still need to travel grounded as the air is too difficult to manage. The base of the canyon is filled with many sharp and jagged rocks that are difficult to travel over. I continue through the canyon, the wind seems to be originating from cave in the side of the mountain face. The closer I get… The louder a noise gets… I've heard this noise before. Someone is hammering a sword at a blacksmiths forge.
The moment I enter I am greeted with a sword being pointed towards me. The person begins to speak.
“Just as you said master, someone is here.”
“Don't point that stick at them *tink* Invite them in *tink* They are obviously *tink* Here to speak with me.”
The one to quickly draw their weapon on me holsters it at the moment the other speaks. Looking at the weapon I would have never assumed it was a wooden sword. It doesn't look like a wooden sword to me… Getting a closer look at the person holding the sword I notice a few things. The first is that his head resembles that of a frog with a mixture of colors but the most prevalent being the color blue… Which is a bit odd. The other is that he might be 3/4ths the size of a normal human. Other than that, I would easily confuse him for one. The frog speaks again as he sits down.
“You need to be less kind master. This elemental may be here to fight you and you just keep hammering that sword.”
He doesn't even look up from his work. Continuing to hammer.
“I doubt *tink* I would have *tink* Any problem *tink* Defeating this bat *tink* If they decided to challenge me.”
He places the hammer down and quenches the sword in a vat of oil close by. I can now see his face… It appears to be that of an elf but… He's completely blind. Burn scars cover most of his face. Without a very powerful wind like aura I would have assumed him to be a normal elf. Piercing blue eyes look at me but almost right through me. Hmm… How did he know I was a bat. As if he read my mind.
“You're probably wandering how I knew you were a bat. Well, I can tell from the wind in this canyon. I control all of the wind here, it is my eyes and ears to what might be coming… This canyon is in my complete control.”
“Well, I'm not exactly sure on the rules of being an elemental but I've come here to show my submission for now until my master is ready to face you. Until then I would like the freedom to grow as an air elemental.”
The frog goes to speak.
“What!? That is outrageous! You can't possibly think-.”
The blind man speaks now.
“Sure. That seems like a good idea. I'm training an apprentice to take my place but if I can be beaten I will gladly give my seat as the elemental lord up. You have my permission to grow.”
The frog only looks confused at the man. Finally managing to get only a single word out.
“Why?”
“Well. I'm not sure if you remember but. The fire elemental lord was the one who had taken my eye-sight from me. The fire element has always been volatile like that. Greedily claiming far too much land for him to govern, fighting constantly for their leadership. The elemental lord of fire has always been chosen through combat over training an apprentice to take over their position… The current elemental lord was even bold enough to commission a set of gauntlets be made and once they were finished he turned against me, catching me in the face with a fireball… He must be killed for tricking me… If I am defeated, I'll gladly relinquish my powers but… I will also offer them this sword. A sword is the culmination of over 100 years of work to be used to defeat him and claim my revenge… Until then, I must continue my work. Every second I spend it could have been done in preparation for my revenge.”
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
He goes back to the quench and lifts the sword out and uses a cloth to wipe the oil off. Before he starts polishing it I ask.
“What's so great about that sword?”
The frog apprentice immediately answers.
“What's so great about this sword!? He's been forging it for over 100 years. It is the sharpest, strongest, most durable sword in the entire world! It could cut through mountains if put in the right hands.”
The man now speaks. Almost completely reversing everything the frog has just said.
“This sword would shatter if used like a normal sword…”
He stands up and walks towards me, stepping over me to head outside. I manage to turn around just in time to see a giant wind slash being shot at a wall. The second it cuts in I realize… This canyon was made from countless wind slash's… What I assumed was rocks I now noticed to be failed attempts at making the perfect sword for his revenge. In that moment, I knew just how serious being an elemental lord was.
“I can sense that you dropped a scrap of paper in my canyon, please bring it here and I will hold onto it and keep it safe so it doesn't become ruined.”
Shit! He found out about the portal scroll I had planned on leaving close by, I guess that is fine though. At least it wont get damaged and even I don't think he will use it. His goal seems to be too focused on revenge to worry about attacking a random army.
Pokodo's point of view
My journey to see the elemental lord has been a fairly peaceful one. Most of my travel was spent going through the earth. This new earth elemental form makes it so I barely have to eat. I doubt I will ever have to eat once I start growing my earth elemental powers. I still enjoy food, coming up to eat some smaller animals. A few times I was attacked but the attacks that would have normally killed me before completely bound off my body. I've found myself killing far more monsters than I needed too when I was on the surface. Fools, what utter fools for attacking me.
I decided to take a day off of traveling and bath in the sun for a day. Some birds decide to rest on top of me, I'm fine with it. I prefer to not attack anything, only killing that which attacked first. They peck at my stone body which I can feel slightly. It kind of tickles.
It has been awhile since I started this journey. I definitely feel like I'm getting close. When I do make it there I should take a few days off to relax before heading home through the portal scroll. Master gave us each one to make our ways back quickly and to also open up the area's all over the central continent.
I decide to take the rest of the trip out of the ground. I should be able to make it there today. I keep heading closer and closer towards a big mountain. The closer I get, the more I realize that it isn't a mountain but a living creature. So massive to the point I can't understand what it is exactly. A giant eye forms as a rock slab lifts up. I wait for a few moments to see if it will speak… It doesn't so I begin to talk to it.
“I've come to ask you to allow me to grow as an elemental.”
With a booming voice, loud enough to vibrate my entire body and the sounding area he finally speaks.
“…Okay...”
I wait a few moments wondering if he is done speaking. The awkward silence is too much so I decide to fill it one more time before leaving.
“My master might come to challenge you in the future. Please be prepared to give him your support after you're defeated.”
The giant mountain creature just sits there. It blinks, the wind forced back from just his blinking kicked up some of the sand in this area. He speaks again.
“…Okay...”
…Is that all he can say? Well, I guess it doesn't matter. Eventually master will be forced to take the elemental lords under his power once he gets stronger. He said something about ranking up but I don't really pay attention when he goes on about getting stronger. That is all he thinks about. Still though, it really shows how dedicated he is to it. Well anyways, I should find a good place to hide this scroll before heading back… Nah, I'll take a few days off to relax before heading back.
Kline's point of view
“We got to get out of here!”
How did this happen? I look at the scene splayed before my eyes. A bar full of people (now unconscious people) with Leon standing over them. Dozens of people were beaten in this attack. Some have broken bones sticking out of their bodies that will be extremely difficult to heal correctly. Many lacerations on them, how? He wasn't even using a weapon, he must have just struck them so hard it punctured their skin. I grab his shoulder and run out of the bar. We quickly flee the village. Another dead end and Leon is starting to get fed up of searching for a cure.
“Listen, I get it. I know you are desperate but you need to stop taking your frustrations out on other people. I'm pretty sure you caused some permanent injuries back there.”
He doesn't speak as we walk in silence. He had stolen a few chunks of raw beef from the butcher shop a town back. It seems like he's slowly getting more and more reckless as time goes on. We need to find a cure soon or he might even turn his frustration out on me or Silky. That ghoul rage continues to get the best of him… I've had to talk him down from killing a few people so far in this journey. If we can't find something soon, it might just be best to give up and head back… I dread breaking the news to him.
Silky walks in front of me. I playfully grab her butt and tease her a little as we travel. It is hard to get any alone time with her since Leon is constantly around. I just want to spend a few days alone with her… I would regret going on this trip more but Silky has seen so many new things she's never seen before. A smile comes across my face at how much this is going to make her love me.
I push Leon forwards in a friendly way while I pester him.
“You need to get your anger under control.”
He angrily grunts before talking.
“Yea, sure you would say that. You got a girl on your arm for this trip, not a care in the world… I can feel myself get angry but I can't stop it.”
...I'm not sure how to fix this. I just hope we can find a cure before he gets too out of hand. We set-up camp for the night after traveling for most of the day.
