Edward was on a warpath towards the center of the Brooklyn College campus while Johnny followed behind him. The remaining members of the Mad Dogs kept attempting to attack Edward to prevent him from reaching the center, but nothing would work. Once he had finally reached the center, Edward stood in front of the center building.
“Deshawn!” Edward shouted loud enough to shake the foundation of the building.
However, no one came out. Edward stood in front of the building waiting for Deshawn to come outside, meanwhile, a group of over thirty Mad Dog members began to surround Johnny and Edward.
Edward turned away from the building and looked at the group of Mad Dogs
“Where’s Dehawn?” Edward asked, trying to contain his rage.
“We don’t know what you’re talking about.” One of the Mad Dogs said.
“Don’t lie to me! A man by the name of Deshawn called my home and told me that he and you lot are demanding a ransom for my son!” Edward explained.
“We don’t know any Deshawn, old man! You’ve been tricked!” One of the Mad Dogs said.
Although the headquarters of one of the four major gangs aren’t a secret, Johnny asked himself two questions. One, why would Edward’s son be involved with the Mad Dogs? And why was Edward, who seemingly has no connection to New York’s underground, able to easily walk into the Mad Dogs' headquarters? However, he couldn’t find the answer to either of these questions.
Edward’s rage had begun to boil over from the gang members feigning ignorance. The ground of the Brooklyn College campus began to shake violently, causing the huge building behind them to begin to collapse.
“Last warning. Bring. Deshawn. Here” Edward commanded.
“What’s happening?” The members of the Mad Dogs thought to themselves as they began to panic.
Just before the violent shaking had gotten worse, a voice called out to Edward.

“Edward!” A voice shouted.
Recognizing the voice, Edward stopped the tremors.
“I’m here, Edward!” The voice continued.
“Deshawn! Come out!” Edward commanded.
The group of thirty unarmed Mad Dog members turned into over one hundred armed members of the Mad Dogs gang all lined up as if they were a firing squad. They took aim pointing their semi-automatic rifles at both Edward and Johnny.
“What is this?” Johnny asked, looking at the firing squad.
A dark-skinned man with short curly hair, wearing a black trench coat, a white stained tank top, and ripped pink skinny jeans walked to the front of the firing squad resting the back of his rifle on his shoulder.
“Deshawn…” Edward said
“Your son’s not here, old man,” Deshawn explained.
“What do you mean he’s not here! You said!” Edward shouted.
“I know what I said. I just needed to get you here.” Deshawn explained.
“Why?” Edward asked.
Deshawn pointed over toward Johnny.
“You got a Street King ova there with you,” Deshawn explained.
That statement from Deshawn caused the color to drain from Johnny’s face.
“Again.” Johnny thought to himself.
“Again, I harmed someone close to me by just existing.” Johnny continued.
“Why am I still alive?” He continued.
The memories of the woman’s bodega being broken into flashed through Johnny’s mind as he started to breathe heavily.
“I should die. That way this wouldn’t happen ever again.” Johnny thought.
Edward calmed down, looked over to Johnny, and patted him on his back as if he were trying to revive him.
“Oh, you’re mistaken, Deshawn. He isn’t a Street King.” Edward explained.
“Do you not know who you decided to take in?!” Deshawn shouted.
Realizing what was happening, Edward began to laugh.
“The Street King, Johnny died on that bridge a year ago, this here is my youngest son, Johnny Sanchez,” Edward explained.
The word “son” seemed to have broken something inside of Johnny allowing him to wake up out of his daze and tears began to roll down his face. Watching Johnny cry, Edward smiled for a brief second then turned his attention back towards Deshawn.
“He’s also the man that’ll wipe out all of your silly little gangs.” Edward continued
“He’s nothing but a murderer and a thug like the rest of us!” Deshawn explained.
“Well then, he and I are going to have to change that aren’t we?” Edward said to a crying Johnny as he patted his head.
All Johnny had the energy to do at the moment was nod as he tried to hide his face.
“Well then let's get going,” Edward said as he took a deep breath.
“You’re not going anywhere! Fire!” Deshawn commanded his firing squad to shoot at Edward and Johnny
At the same moment, Edward slammed his foot into the ground causing the ground around him and Johnny to shoot up and form a ball around them, guarding them at all angles from the bullets. Once the bullets stopped firing, Edward pushed the dirt walls outward causing them to crash into the firing squad, giving Edward and Johnny a chance to escape.
