On the eve of the brawl between the Street Kings and the Mad Dogs, Johnny left Axel alone in their home to visit the elderly woman at the recently reopened bodega. Once he got there, he saw the elderly woman with what seemed to be her family, an adult man, and woman, along with two young children. Unable to forget what had happened to the bodega and how much it affected the elderly woman, Johnny stopped moving and watched from afar.
“Never again.” These were the words that repeated inside Johnny’s head as he saw how distraught and frightened the elderly woman had become.
Clenching his fist, Johnny turned around and went back home until it was time for the brawl on the bridge.
Finally, it was time for Johnny and Axel to start making their way to the battlefield. Outside their house, Jorge was waiting for them in his black van.
“Y’all ready?” Jorge asked.
Both nodded and got into the back of the black van. On the way there, Johnny pushed aside the memories of the elderly man and of the elderly woman that ran the bodega, and his eyes became dull.
“Haven’t seen you like this in a while.” Axel remarks.
“War,” Johnny responded.
“Tonight, let your mind go blank and think of nothing else other than winning,” Jorge said while driving.
“War,” Johnny repeated.
The long drive had ended, they had arrived on neutral territory in New Jersey, on the George Washington Bridge. Jorge used his black van and the three others trailing behind him to block the street leading off the bridge and the Mad Dogs did the same thing for the other side. Their objective was to ensure that no one could interrupt their brawl. The thick air made it impossible for either side to breathe properly and one by one both sides lined up across from each other.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“Kings! Tonight, we send those wimpy dogs to the pound!” Jorge shouted to rally the troops.
With that, the fighting had begun, hundreds of young men fighting each other, some used the steel pipes they had brought with them while others focused on throwing each other over the bridge into the water. There was chaos all around Johnny as he let his instincts take over slamming several of the Mad Dogs into the ground and then kicking them in the head while they were down. To the left of him was Axel and to the right of him was Jorge, all fighting to get rid of their enemy.
Jorge and Trayvon fought their way to the center of the battlefield until they were face-to-face with each other.
“Come here,” Jorge said as he pulled out his switchblade.
“Try it,” Trayvon replied with his blood-stained metal bat already in hand.
Meanwhile, on another side of the battlefield, Johnny body-slammed a member of the Mad Dogs onto the metal intersection as hard as he could. He looked over to Axel, and saw him on the ground getting kicked in the face and ribs, and immediately he rushed over to help Axel, he hit one of the members with a lariat sending them over the railing and into the water beneath them, he punched the other causing him to stagger back a little, then he helped Axel back onto his feet.
“Thanks,” Axel said as the blood poured from his nose and mouth.
Suddenly, Johnny and Axel were surrounded by several of the Mad Dog members causing them to stand back-to-back to fend off their attackers. They were attacked with several wooden bats, lead pipes, and other objects, but they did not leave each other’s backs. One by one they defeated the group of attackers even though they were bloodied and bruised with several broken bones in their bodies.
“W-We won,” Axel said as he gasped for air.
Still in his possessed state, Johnny kept finding more and more Mad Dogs to attack and out of the corner of his eye, he saw one of the Mad Dog members from earlier begin to get up and take out a knife. At the same time, a loud gunshot rang out across the battlefield.
“He’s got a gun!” One of the gangsters said.
Amidst the chaos of another shot being let off, the defeated member of the Mad Dogs charged directly for Axel and Johnny ran as fast as he could after to stop him. At the last moment, Johnny threw himself in between Axel and the blade causing the blade to plunge directly into his body.
“Johnny!” Axel screamed.
With his adrenaline pumping after being stabbed, Johnny grabbed onto the gang member that stabbed him and headbutted him as hard as he could fracturing both his and the gang member’s skull. After that, Johnny passed out and was left behind in the middle of the chaos. Everyone that could move scattered off the bridge, back into their vans, and left the bridge before the police could show up.
The brawl on the bridge had concluded.
