Chapter 72 - Season 2 Special - Crafting

! {Level 200 Milestone has been reached}

! {New Innate Ability has been unlocked}

* Synthesis Research Protocol / Tier 5 – Master / Engineer / Cast to create an S.R.P, analyzing your memories and process them into usable research. S.R.P can be applied to M.A.T to increase efficiency and potency of manual crafting in workstation depending on the amount of usable research. S.R.P applied M.A.T can create fusion of components/ingredients depending on the amount of usable research / Cost: None

Looking into the Cash Shop as I sit on top of a giant earth worm. I peruse after slotting in a couple of items into my vendor store that I recently created.

! {You have made a sale}

* $4000: Plate Scales

* $5000: Crusher’s Jaw Maul

* $1500: Feathered Talon Bow

! {Processing your sales}

! {Completed}

! {$3,787.5 has been added to your account}

With a bit of patient, I was able to sell those items throughout the week. I could make more money if I invested in luck or just do all unfinished dungeons, but I don’t want to compete for limited quantity of items.

My original plan is to earn money simply by getting stronger and get a sponsorship, but I realized that this is not the Ekolia that I knew. It’s not Ekolia where you spend a hundred bucks for a mythic deal, it’s Ekolia where you spend TENS OF THOUSANDS on a fucking Epic trash.

‘Damn, no wonder Rakuri suddenly has some fat stacks.’

‘But sooner or later, these first-time rewards will cease and people will go back on the grind. So, a stream of reliable income will have to come from a different source.’

* Magenta Vitalis / Epic / Increases All Secondary Attributes by 10 for 2 hours / Requirement: 80 Vitality

Holding this beautiful potion. I pretty much have a thousand dollars in my hand, before taxes, fees, and marketplace share.

“Now then, let me have those money processed. And spend yet another equal amount to my Vitality and Intelligence. This class has been great so far.”

! {Quest Received}

* Humanity / Legendary / Discover the limits of human form / Requirement 1: Have at least 100 Vitality and 100 Intelligence as an Engineer / Requirement 2: Create an Augment / Requirement 3: Create a permanent lasting Potion as an Engineer / Reward: Class Evolution to [Biomedical Engineer] / Condition: Completing a Class Change will fail this Quest

“Oh? Now this is interesting.”

I’ve only heard of it in the real world but not in-game. A biomedical engineer. And in order to get the one here is through making a permanent lasting potion, and…

“Augment?”

‘As in prosthetic? Why would I need that when my hands are fully functional? But considering that it needs augment and not replacement…’

‘If it’s enhancement…’

I think I got the gist of what I need. A couple of points to Strength and Endurance, I can now wear the Bangle of the Earthshaker. Which thankfully, nobody bought because they thought you need 30 Strength and 30 Endurance with it, but actually no, you just need 10 of each because the bangle already increases the Strength and Endurance by 20 when you have enough to fill it.

“I’m still wearing nothing but these rags, but I don’t want to spend money on it.”

“…”

“Wait, can’t I just make my own clothes? No, that’s a pain, I’ll leave it to a crafter.”

For now, though, I Cast Sign, “Modular Assembly Terminal.”

Targeting the location, and it summons a wooden workbench and a couple of drawers I made. It even has a bit of rudimentary alchemy station and arsenal workshop for my bombs. If I can get my hands on some metals, I could make wonders here.

“First, what do I do with this new ability I’ve got?”

I cast, “Synthesis Research Protocol.”

My sight turns pixelated and before I knew it, arcane particles have created a cyan orb floating in front of me.

I raised my brow as I grabs it, “This is S.R.P?”

Laying it at the top of the workstation, the desk, the wood cracks open as it submerges the cyan orb and lighting every crack and crevice of the workstation, becoming one with it.

There a menu appears, hovering just by the desk. Putting the rock eater’s body parts into the drawer, it instantly updated smoothly as it adds them into the list.

I can already automate item creation with M.A.T but not ingredients or components. With this, I don’t have to spend too much time on pestle and mortar. Half of my processes can be automated for free. I can even just let it do everything and with only a small decrease in potency.

“Not bad. Not bad at all.”

‘And would you look at that. A permanent lasting potion is there too.’

It really did a sweep into my brain, huh. Considering I know a lot of things from the future, does it mean that it also have those information never seen by others too?

‘Neat. I guess I have to recast it if I want to update it, but that’s fine.’

! {M.A.T has finished an item}

Cracking my hand, I get to work on this potion. It took about 20 minutes thanks to M.A.T making things a lot easier than it’s supposed to.

* Cinderbloom Concentrate / Epic / Permanently increases Strength by 1 / Requirement: 80 Vitality

Not available for automation apparently. I need to rank up my M.A.T in order to do that.

Glancing to the carcass of the rock eater, ‘Don’t look like it’s gonna come back to life. Guess I have to exit the area for that to be the case, huh.’

Storing M.A.T back in my dimensional pocket, I walked out and return to the forest. I have also restocked my bombs and added a few more to my arsenal.

* [40x] Shatterbomb / Rare / Creates a 15-meter explosion that deals 120 damage. If there is a target hits within 3 meters radius, it creates an additional explosion that expands to 25-meter radius, dealing 50% damage / Requirement: 60 Vitality

* [55x] Arcane Powder Bomb / Rare / Creates a 15-meter arcane explosion that deals 120 damage and additional 120 arcane damage

* [32x] Geotic Sylphid Bomb / Epic / Creates a 50-meter explosion that deals 1 damage and creates a tremor, staggering those that are caught within and has 10% chance to be stunned for the next 5 second. Earth surface will be cracked and leveled, creating living vines that entrap those in the explosion radius into the cracks. After 5 seconds, Toxin gas will be released from the cracks, dealing 10 damage per second and build up poison / Requirement: 140 Vitality

* [6x] Nightshade Reaver Bomb / Legendary / Creates a continuous melting point in 6-meter radius that deals up to 100 dark damage per second, an inner circle of 10-meter radius that deals up to 50 dark damage per second, a middle circle of 15-meter radius that deals up to 25 dark damage per second, and an outer circle of 50-meter radius that deals up to 10 damage per second. Lasts for 20 seconds. Each circle will pull anything caught in the radius with an even stronger pulling energy the closer the targets to the epi center. Has up to 50% chance to create an illusion that stuns the target for the duration of the reaver and weaken the targets that got caught in the epi center, reducing all their Primary Attributes and Secondary Attributes by 25% / Requirement: 150 Vitality

‘Still have no use for bloodstone, but these are quite the goods.’

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

‘Heh, who would’ve thought that something that I do as Wayfarer would turn out to be used like this. I don’t know how long this is going to last, but I should make the most of it.’

“Let’s do some mining.”

In Lorkhan, there’s a lot of mining spots for common ores, but it’s rare for one to come across mithril or even adamantine. But I don’t think I need something as fancy as those things.

After two weeks of solitary, I finally come in contact with a civilization or at least, part of it. A mining excavation of iron, and sure enough, there’re lot of NPCs around here.

An old man walks up to me nervously with one of his hands up, “Please, halt, Traveler.”

So, they know I’m a player.

“D-Do you have any— I mean, is there anything I can do for you?”

Looking around, this place is complete. They even make steel here.

“Miss Traveler?”

Shifting my attention to the old man. Well, I said old, but he’s actually just a little hunchback guy, probably in his late forties or so.

“You got iron here, I want some.”

“Y-You want iron?”

“Mhm, think you’re open for trades? I have potions.”

His eyes gleamed, “Ah, trades, of course. We have plenty of iron. Please, come this way.”

Following him to a tent, he has a table full of ingots. Though I can’t help but notice a couple of glances coming my way. Maybe I’m the only player here.

“Over here, um, how many do you need? Oh, can you show me your potions first, if you don’t mind? I’ll trade you the appropriate number of ingots. Oh um, do you have Health potions with you? If not, Stamina potions would be very helpful too.”

Taking some out of my inventory.

* Nettle Nectar Wrap / Common / Restore up to 44 Health / Requirement: 2 Vitality

* Mountain Berry Wrap / Common / Restore up to 44 Health / Requirement: 2 Vitality

* Bramble Rush / Common / Restore up to 44 Stamina / Requirement: 1 Vitality

* Yarrow Yonder Wrap / Common / Restore up to 22 Stamina and increase Stamina Regeneration by 2 per second / Requirement: 5 Vitality

“Eh? Wait, what are these?”

Raising my brow, “Potions?”

“Potions… but they don’t—,” his eyes widened, “Wait, their effects are… a lot more than what our usual potions are. 44 restorations instead of 12.5 or 10. These are…”

I think I get it, “You mean elixir type potions, the one with bottles? Yeah, I don’t have a glass to make that kind, but these are just the same. You just chew and eat instead of drink.”

“But…”

“Sample it, one on the house.”

He chooses the Yarrow Yonder Wrap and eats it. Chewing on it as he looks at me in the eye, nervously. But it doesn’t take long for him to feel the effect as his eyes popped. Energized.

“Ohhhhh! Th-This is AMAZING!”

The others began to gather as one steps up.

[Man 1]: “Kell, you alright?”

[Kell]: “Yeah. Yeah! Bring me more irons and steel you’ve got! Come on!”

[Man 1]: “…”

[Kell]: “Well? No lollygagging, I said bring me more of those ingots! Go!”

[Man 1]: “Alright!”

[Kell]: “S-So, um, miss Traveler, you said you wanted iron, right? I can even give you steel, like 60 or so ingots of iron and 20 steels. Do you have a few more of these that you can spare? My men will need 10 of the stamina ones and 2 more of these wraps.”

[Kurira]: “I only have 7 of Yonder, I have more of the rest. Though I will need an additional 60 irons if that’s the trade you want.”

[Kell]: “We can give you more steels, about 12 more. And if you don’t mind ores, you can take 50 that we just mined or you can wait and we’ll smelt them for you, which will be about 30-40 ingots. But can we have 5 more of the um that one item?”

[Kurira]: “Sure.”

[Kell]: “Great! Thank you so much!”

I made them before I reached this level, but I figured that I rarely ever need them. I could just buy those irons in bulk from a trade guild and they’d be dirt cheap, but that’ll be too easy.

As I didn’t expect that I would get this much materials, I went to make myself some crates for them. I mean I can put the ores in my inventory but M.A.T is just too useful.

[Man 1]: “Um, do you need any help, miss Traveler?”

[Kurira]: “Hm? No.”

*Thump*

*Thump*

*Thump*

[Man 1]: “Are you some sort of blacksmith and alchemist?”

[Kurira]: “I dabble in a bit of both, yeah.”

[Man 1]: “Ahh okay, I know this dwarf in town. He makes most of our equipment, so if you need some help in that. He goes by the name Dura.”

[Kurira]: “Dura. I’ll keep that in mind.”

Putting it close to M.A.T, I loaded it with all the ingots I’ve got from the trade with the help of these people too. And with that, I scored myself a good number of metals.

Updating my M.A.T, I stored them in my dimensional pocket.

I cast, “Modular Assembly Terminal.”

And I summon it again, and now, the storage is connected to the workbench.

[Man 1]: “Woah, that’s… That’s the first time I’m seeing such ability.”

[Kurira]: “Yeah? That’s too bad, this thing is incredibly useful.”

[Man 1]: “How useful?”

[Kurira]: “Heheh, I’d be talking all day and I doubt you’ll understand it. No offense, it’s simply something that has to do with the limit of human comprehension after such long period of time absorbing all those information.”

[Man 1]: “A-Ahh, yes, of course.”

[Man 1]: “Well then, I’ll let you get back to it, miss…”

[Kurira]: “Kurira.”

[Man 1]: “Miss Kurira.”

Seeing him nervously leaving awkwardly makes me shake my head. It’s quite amusing, but I appreciate them for letting me stay for a bit.

“Alright, let’s see what this augment needs of me.”

Thinking about something that can be useful for an able-body, I can’t help but think of an Exoskeleton. A simple mechanical engineering for my dominant arm would suffice, I think.

Opening the back of my oven, I replace the magic core inside.

“Iron ingot goes in.”

I’m gonna start with M.A.T for fusion, some dandelion, rose bush, this common magic core and this little ruby. And this will work as the power source.

*Ting*

Getting my tongs to pull out the heated ingot. With S.R.P, I draw the design and wait for confirmation and I see a lot of red.

! {Workstation toolkit is insufficient}

It can only do some basic cuts, but it should suffice. I take my hammer and starts working on some plates, and I might as well heat up another ingot.

Small but rigid. Structure integrity needs to be top notch; it doesn’t matter if it’s a patchwork as long as it doesn’t wobble or worse yet, crumble.

*Tink*

*Tink*

*Tink*

I don’t have a machine to get a fully rounded corners, but it’s good enough when it can rotate properly. When the framework is done, I work on the joints and connectors.

Four ingots were needed for me to craft this one, and it’s finally done.

“Phew. Alright, let’s put them together.”

Another iron ingot goes in, I start assembling the design. Combining the framework, with the joints and connectors. Heating them up with M.A.T before patching some more iron into it. I need them a little loose but not loose enough to make my wrist going 360.

There I add a whole magic core to the side of the elbow, common, just enough for it to run. I carefully let the smelted power source in line throughout the framework and connects them to the frame of the magic core. After that, I properly closed them with another coating of iron.

! {Masterpiece has been created}

! {Name your item}

“Huh?”

Well, now that’s something. To think something like this is being called masterpiece, that’s ridiculous. I mean, in comparison the people in desolated sector would just give something like these five bucks, but I guess it’s nice that I can name my item.

* Iron Arm / Augment / Rare / Health: 90 / Enchantment: Increases Strength by 30 / Requirement: 30 Vitality

! {Item has been upgraded}

* Iron Doll Arm / Masterwork Augment / Epic / Health: 300 / Enchantment: Increases Strength by 80 / Requirement: 30 Vitality

‘Holy, that’s 80 free levels.’

‘Now that’s fun.’

! {Quest Completed}

! {Class Evolution is now available}

‘Do it.’

! {Evolving Class}

My sight turns pixelated as I feel a rush of adrenaline. It makes my mind clearer, my will stronger, and my heart beats faster.

! {Class Evolution Succeeded}

! {New Innate Abilities has been unlocked}

* Synthetic Reconstruction / Tier 2 – Intermediate / Biomedical Engineer / Cast to repair damaged tissue and regenerate lost limbs temporarily, providing additional 50 Health, lasts for 300 seconds / Cost: 50 Mana

* Biomechanical Limb Fabrication / Level 1 / Biomedical Engineer / Cast to create a B.L.F, analyzing the structure of a limb of one’s own or any target to be added as Research into S.R.P, allowing M.A.T to create identical prosthetic or usable and modifiable replacement and/or augments for one’s own use / Cost: None

* Vital Organ Fabrication / Level 1 / Biomedical Engineer / Cast to create V.O.F, analyzing the complete innerworkings of a creature or one’s own to be added as Research into S.R.P, allowing M.A.T to create identical synthetic organs or usable and modifiable replacement for one’s own use / Cost: None

* Autonomic System Fabrication / Level 1 / Biomedical Engineer / Cast Sign to create A.S.F, analyzing the entire autonomic system, including the heart and neural networks of a creature or one’s own with the exception of the brain, and they will be added as Research into S.R.P, allowing M.A.T to create modifiable synthetic replacements for one’s own body / Cost: None

“Holy goodness, what the hell are these?”

‘Synthetic replacements, so we’re no longer talking about augments, I can outright replace my body with machines just like in real life, huh.’

“Well, let’s try analyzing first.”

I cast, “Biomechanical Limb Fabrication.”

Arcane particles swirl in front of me before becoming one and it creates, a cyan tablet. Upon pressing it with my index finger, its energy courses through it.

“Woah there,” I retracted it but the energy remains, it’s just stopped.

“Mm.”

I pressed it again and hold on to it as it analyzes my entire body. But I don’t really feel anything aside from a cold breeze. Same goes for the other two, and the energy disappear when they finished analyzing.

After inserting them all into M.A.T, I can now see the details on my entire body, the measurement of my bust down to the size of my hips. Everything is recorded and ready to make a replacement of, once I have the materials that is.

“Hunh, and here I thought making some augments is enough.”
