I watched the cherokee slowly disappear down the road heading back towards town. I made my way back to the garage, “Cheer up son” Mario told me. “ He said as he threw me the keys. “ these are for the Impala right?” I asked. “Sure are '', Mario nodded. I walked around the front of the station wagon, opened the driver's door and sat in the car. The nice blue interior rubbing against my arms. I put the keys in the ignition, slowly turning the key. After cranking for about 4 seconds it fired up. I thanked Mario for fixing my car and then I left. Putting the car in D, I pulled out of the shop and onto the highway. Driving down the road a slight vibration slowly grew stronger followed by the sound of an old siren like one of the old air raid sirens used in the cold war. An eerie off putting sound with a low rumble cracked across the sky. In the distance A giant plane with 4 massive prop engines crossed not 200 ft above the tree line. 2 to 4 of the engines were on fire, the last one not spinning. The big beast was going down, with no airport to my knowledge it would have to crash in a field. One of the engines gave way to the flames sputtering out then exploded crippling the plane, with a steady descent the paralyzed plane crossed the highway and disappeared, leaving a dark smoke trail in its path. I began to chase the cripled bomber down. After a while the beast came back into sight. The metal beast rocked side to side as it slowly began its descent with the ground. After following it for a bit, no crew bailed out that I saw, and the plane finally faced off against the earth.
