The Russian turned on his rifle's flashlight. My heart dropped, at least 5 demons were crawling around on the outside of their helicopter. These demons were nothing like the ones I've seen before. These were nothing but savage ruthless merciless killers. True monsters. One of their soldiers got pulled from the helicopter and killed. We couldn't shoot at them because it would hit the helicopter. The crew of the helicopter shot at the demons. One of them got a good shot and the demon crawled up into the helicopter's main rotor. Sliding their doors shut, their helicopter shook and then descended, fast. We followed behind. The top of their helicopter was beginning to disintegrate. Their rotor, while intact, was critically damaged, catching fire. The helicopter crashed into the ground. They landed on a flat plain. Our helicopter and a sea knight followed. Landing near the crash site, most of the soldiers jumped out as did I. I may not be a soldier but I could try to help. Me and 3 other soldiers killed the remaining demons on the helicopter. Around the helicopter 4 floodlights had been set up, these were not strong but they would be enough for now. The crew were stunned but ok. Helping them out we slowly got each to the sea knight. A shot rang out, and then another. The demons began to rush us. Someone screamed beside me turning around all I saw was a flashlight quickly pulled into the forest. Shots rang out the entire time then the flashlight went out. Demons were crawling everywhere, some on the rotor of the downed black hawk, others in trees. “Lets go lets go” the soldier at the black hawk said. Running back to the helicopter a demon jumped out. I was able to shoot it but another grabbed the guy next to me. He was able to kill it and escape. Sliding the doors shut we lifted off. Regrouping with the other helicopters we headed back home. A Su-27 followed by a F-22 zipped past us. Then multiple explosions destroyed outpost 9 killing any remaining demons and orcs. After flying for about an hour we made it back home. The C-17’s and the Tu-95 landed on the Skyline city airport. The helicopters landed anywhere out of the way Upon touchdown every cop, fireman, and ambulance was there to greet us. One of the C-17’s had a partial landing gear collapse but everyone was alright. The sun was down now but the runway was lit with bright lights. After getting checked for injuries and getting our story we were let go due to us being civilians. Liz picked us up, we dropped Kira off at her house and Liz took us home. Silkscrew was about 20 minutes from Skyline city. It was a quiet trip liz asking if i was alright about every other 2 minutes. As much as I tried to reassure her that I was alright, my words went from one ear out the other. I was physically unharmed while being a little sore from the Huey crash. I was unharmed, a little shaken up, yes. Getting home I kind of fell onto the couch and just sat there for about 10 minutes just relaxing thinking of everything that had happened. Remembering everything I saw scared me, but Liz comforted me. I thanked her for everything and to get my mind off of everything that happened I decided to take a night drive. Getting into the Impala I start the car, then I turn it off. Sitting there I look out into the dark street. I'm afraid of the dark now, a silly thought but now my mind was working against me. I kept thinking any second a demon could leap out and rip me from my seat. “No night drive tonight” I said to the impala, Gliding my hand over the steering wheel. Getting out of the car the summer air blows past. This place is so different from the world I just came from 3 hours ago. There were no savage demons, only families, neighbors, cats and dogs all asleep. All connected under 1 sky, these people may never know the monsters that live not too far away.
