- Endo Ken's Point of View -
The Blue Devin is... scary.
After appearing from nowhere, the devil invited me into his cave. Fearing that he might kill me if I said no, I obediently agreed and walked into the cave. He treated me with kindness, but I could still feel his intimidating aura.
We talked for a small bit. As we did, he changes the topic of magic.
"Ken... Your good at magic, aren't you?"
"..."
The Blue Devil, a beast with an unfathomable amount of power. In terms of magic, he stands at the top. No one knows if he is good with combat via swordsmanship or weapons, but he would be considered God-level if it is magic. There are also many rumors about his power...
The devil can use all types of magic! He even can create his own type of magic!
The devil has blue hair... It isn't just dyed blue or anything. It is blue because of the devil's mana! His mana inputs are so high that it turned his hair blue!
The devil can see others mana. He can sense how strong someone's magic is based on their mana! His power for sight is greater than the world's eyes.
No one knows if these rumors are true, but seeing in person, I can that some have a bit of truth.
I told the beast that he was correct. Afterward, he wanted me to teach him how to use magic. I was unstruck. Why in the world does the master of magic need to be taught about magic? Wait... Is he testing me? Maybe he sees the level of other's magical power... I rather not, but he could kill me if I do...
I agreed with fear. I taught him the basic fire spell: Fireball. I limited my power so that I wouldn't damage the surrounding area. When he tried, he created a larger ball of fire. The speed and power of it were incredible. He would be sought after if he weren't the world's most feared monster...
Once he had his fun, he leads me back to the cave. Then, he speaks to me.
"Now then, I think it might be better for you to leave. You probably have urgent things to attend to, am I right?"
Fear runs through my entire body. What did I do?! Is he tired of me already?
"Huh?! Oh, yes!"
I bowed to the monster and quickly made my escape, but after getting to the cave entrance, I stopped.
Earlier... It truly looked like it was his first time casting a spell. If that is so, he is at his baby stage. After today, he will get stronger and stronger to the point that no one can stop him. So, If I can kill him now... I could prevent a calamity in the future!
With this newfound determination, I put my hand on my dagger and cast a spell with no chant. Fast Step!
I closed the short distance in an instant and drew my dagger. I take the position and charge the devil, getting ready to take his life. However...
Right when we were less than a meter apart, I spot a magic circle on the devil's hand. Impossible! He can't have already learned how to cast magic to the level of no chant or manual!
At that moment, a blue flame shoots out towards me. My body feels as if it is melting... Wait, it is melting! My bones... everything is!
Before my consciousness leaves me, I see a glimpse on the devil's face. A wicked smile was there as if he was enjoying my death. I am no more... I pray with all the strength I have left that the devil doesn't take revenge by destroying the world. I screwed up...

Ken suddenly charges at me. I see, the testing me to see if I was worthy of his teachings or if I understood any of it. I smile, thinking of how I can overcome him.
While practicing my chanting spell, I kept looking at the circle layout for the spell. The circle has weird symbols and writing on it that I couldn't understand. However, it looks like if I replicate this circle, I can manually create the spell.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
I may not be able to understand the letters and symbols. Still, I did understand something by moving around these things in the circle and result in a different spell altogether or a stronger variety of it. I tested changing my thinking during my practice. Based on my thinking, different circles were created. Thankfully, I have deciphered what the original spell's circle is.
I summon a circle and manually change it to look like the Fireball's spell with this knowledge. Then, I made some minor adjustments to create a more powerful spell. Hopefully, this will work!
As Ken close the distance with his weapon in hand, I unleashed the spell. At this moment, I watch as Ken's expression change from determination to absolute fear.
With that, my spell creates a blue fire explosion in Ken's direction, annihilating everything in its path. I smile at my successful spell.
After the spell, all that is left of Ken is his shoes and some organs or blood. Strangely, I don't feel anything towards his death, but since I felt somewhat sorry for killing him, I think of what to do.
Healing is not going to work if he is already dead... Maybe I can revive him?
With this thinking, I hold my hand out and imagine someone coming back to life normally. I say a chant.
"Revive!"
At that moment, two magic circles form around the remains of Ken. They spin around him with magic particle-looking things falling onto him. A minute later, all the blood, bones, and organs started to come together and form.
Ken's body slowly starts to come together. After a moment, Ken's body is fully complete, back to its original form. He wakes up in a moment more.
"Huh? Where am I..."
He looks around, confused. Upon seeing me, it looks as if it all came back to him. He prostrates himself afterward.
"S-sir! Please forgive m-me!"
I blink when I watch him. "Huh?"
"I-I'm sorry! I had to do it. I had to see if I..."
"Calm down, alright! I already know you were testing me to see if I kept in your knowledge. Now, calm yourself."
Ken slowly lifts his head and looks at me, confused.
"Huh?"
"What? Nevermind that... How did I do? Did I pass?"
"Uh... Umm... Yes! You did wonderfully... I can't believe you were able to create such a spell within that short of time."
"Hehe... It took some work. Anyhow, oh! It has gotten somewhat dark, hasn't it? You should go home before it is too late."
"Ah, yes... Please forgive me."
Ken bows and then takes his leave. I sit and watch him leave. Guess he really did have to go somewhere.
As I watch him get further away from me, I notice him start running as if he was running away from hell. I took this as he had urgent business and was about to miss it due to the time... I felt a little sorry about that.

I keep running, heading for Elvania...
After waking up, I find myself in the Devil's cave. I remember being melt by his spell, and then I was gone. It's unthinkable that he can revive the undead...
Feeling fear, once I made it out of his eyesight, I started to run for dear life.
After reaching Elvania, I continue to run within the kingdom. The guards were worried about me, but they said no more when I said I had urgent matters.
I rushed down the streets to them: Elvania's Council.
They live within the center tree that covers a big portion of Elvania. That where I'm heading.
At the base of the tree, guards stand guard. When I drew near, they noticed me and let me in. When I was in the military, I had a high position. Even after retiring, I still have a high position that allows me to enter the council's tree without reservation.
Upon enter, I came into the lobby. The entire lobby is white and has an alone receptionist behind a desk. When she sees me, her mood becomes lighter.
"Ken! It has been a while since you came here. Are you... going to accept the position finally?"
"Sorry, but no. I have some important business to discuss with the council. It is urgent."
"I understand. Sadly, they are in a meeting already... This meeting will need at least a couple of hours, and when it is over, I think they will be heading home. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to tell you to come back tomorrow. I'll schedule the meeting with you first thing in the morning, though!"
"That won't do!"
I shouted by accident. This frightens her.
"Uh... Sorry, I didn't mean to shout. This is an urgent matter."
I search in my pockets to find something. While I do, the receptionist continues to deny me.
"Ken-sama... I know you had a good position, enough to be invited to join the council members, but I'm afraid that you can not see them at this time. If you don't leave, I'll have to get the military..."
"Err... I-I can't leave! The state of the world is on the line."
The girl sighs and then presses a button on the desk. Afterward, two guards enter the room as ready their weapons as if they knew what was going on.
"Ken... We are sorry to do this but can you please come with us?" (Guard 1)
"Yeah! We promise it will be quick... Sadly, your causes some troubles with our esteem council." (Guard 2)
"But!"
Buh Boom!
The doors that lead to the council's room bust opens.
"What is all this noise in here?!"
The figure who shouts and enters is an oldish elf, one of the elders in the council.
"I-I am so sorry, elder! Ken here was trying to..."
"Ken?! Why did you not say so before! Guards, go back to work. Ken... Please come with me."
"Ah... Thanks, elder..."
I bow to the receptionist and the guards and follow the elder.
After walking through the door, I was brought into a dark room with 9 seats up in the air. The elder stops me and walks to his seat.
"Endo Ken! On what matter, did you come here today? We were in the middle of a meeting, so it has to be extremely important. Now speak!"
