Chapter 80, Arc 5

Lara's POV;

It took us some time to prepare the warehouse. We exchanged the normal wood with the Adam Tree wood from our inventory and also put the massive sea stone doors, those Lia found in the Marine research base, inside. I had to cut it into smaller pieces before, they still were formed like a door, that was too obvious.

But now the warehouse is prepared and we went back to the inn we were staying. Fiara and Nojiko were already back before we came. They went out shopping, a few dozen new clothes for Nojiko and some for Fiara as well. They found hers in a dollhouse, the clothes for dolls fit her and can have the same quality as normal clothes.

Lia was preparing food when Jonny and Yosaku came back. Both were slightly drunk, which wasn't strange. What was was the beaten up face of Yosaku. “What happened to you?”, I asked in wonder. Only his face was beaten up, nothing else. “Did a whore not like you?”, I added with a teasing grin.

He flipped me off before catching some ice that was thrown at him by Lia. “Nope, Jonny and I went into a bar. A good one, the barman made good drinks.

So we were there, drinking our drink and doing nothing in particular when some guy proclaimed that he was the strongest in the world and would bet with anyone that he could knock everyone out with one single hit.

Jonny dared me to prove him wrong.” He stopped as if that was enough explanation.

“And?”, asked Nojiko.

“Huh? Oh right. I walked over to him, strange guy, wearing only underwear and a Hawaii shirt. We bet that the first one who would knock the other one out will get 10.000 Berry.” Yosaku stopped again and was about to adjust the ice when I waved him over to me,

“From then it was a slugfest. Yosaku's hits made a dull sound whenever one connected with his face. The guy, Franky was his name, laughed and hit back,” supplied Jonny, “They kept going for a good dozen hits. Franky's face looks all dented now. In the end, they decided that none would win and we started to drink together.”

I put my hand on Yosaku's face and started to heal him with the Angel Devil Fruit power. Getting lighter wounds is now no longer any trouble. Jo especially likes it, he now no longer has to use his medical supplies for the smaller things.

But for them to meet Franky of all people.

“Thanks, your new healing ability is great. Now we don't have to hold back as much anymore”, thanked Yosaku when he was fully healed. Yep, training is now way better, I can break their bones or do some minor cuts without any worry. I'd really love to know if I can reattach body parts, theoretically, I should be able to revive someone. Depends on whose mythology I take from. I like the angels from Supernatural, the TV-series, the most. They are freaking strong, especially the archangels, which might be my awakened form. No idea how I can do that one might have to ask Chopper for some rumbleballs.

The door opened again and Jo came inside, followed by a wide grinning Noa. “Hi guys, guess what?” Greeted Noa us with a wave, his grin grew even wider.

“What?”, asked Fiara. She was currently wearing a white princess dress with a white hat. It looked funny with her having no real arms and only the robotic tentacle arms on her back.

“I've won the entry test for the Galley-La and was allowed to speak with Iceburg, this town's mayor and one of the best shipwrights in the world. We had a great talk about a lot of things and I got some addresses for the materials we need for our new ship.”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

“Did he also tell you where we can find the copper or a manufacturer for the modules we need?”, asked Fiara hopefully. He nodded and Fiara squealed girlishly while jumping up and down. I never asked what they have planned for the new ship, a surprise will be better. I don't even know the ship type.

I used this moment to tell them about our newly gained warehouse. “That reminds me, Lia and I were in an auction today. We bought a warehouse. We wanted to see what is inside and maybe use it for your to store the materials that you don't need yet. There is some pretty wood and even sea stone inside. Do you think you can coat the underside of our new ship with sea stone?”

“Sure I can, but isn't such a building rather expensive? How much did it cost?”, replied Noa with a look at Nojiko. She was managing our money. Each of us gets some allowance when we go on inside a town. But we also have our own money, or things we find and can sell.

“Some 125 million, we sold a few sets of the ornaments that I made. The rest can go into the budget for our new ship”, I answered and stood up from my chair to fetch the two suitcases with money.

“How much is left?”, asked Nojiko with a hard stare at the black suitcases I just have put on the table. Rather than answering her I opened the cases and showed her the remaining money.

“That must be something around 350 million. Who gave you so much money for some pieces of accessory?”, asked Jonny in disbelieve.

Nojiko was by now already taking the money bundles out and counting them. “A local jewellery, looked pretty high class to me. We didn't know how much we might need for the warehouse, so we agreed to sell them for 500 million. Turned out that we didn't need that much money.” I answered with a shrug.

“That's great, now we can even get those things that we deemed too expensive”, gushed Fiara. She was standing next to a tower of money that was already higher than she was tall.

“How much money do we even have had to begin with?” I asked. I never bother with money. Everything is fine as long as we have enough for the things we need.

Nojiko put the stack of money she was holding down and answered with a slight laugh.“We put some to the side since we know that we need a new ship, so around Alabasta. A few of the pirates we raided had a good amount of Berry on board. And then there are the bounties we cashed in. Our total money count is somewhere close to 800 million, we thought that 550 would be enough for a good ship. So now we have 800 for it.

A year ago I would not have believed to have so much money. Nami needed so many years to get close to a hundred million, and here we are speaking casually about just having earned 500 from selling some pieces of jewellery.” Her tone held slight disbelieve.

“I all I know is that we are loaded,” stated Yosaku. With that, the topic was off the table and we started to eat Thai curry. The meal was passed with stories about today's evening and an animated discussion between Fiara and Noa about the new things they can now implement.

The next morning Noa and I took the Yagara Bull to our own warehouse. It was one among a few others and I'm pretty sure we can sell it again when we leave. This way we might gain some money. That is if the Aqua Laguna does not destroy it.

“It is large enough to put all the things we need inside. That at least will spare us some trouble”, commented Noa when we stepped out of the transport.

I opened the door and led Noa inside. I switched the light on and the shelves with perfect Adam Tree wood and sea stone slabs were lightened up.

Noa stepped closer to one of the shelves and inspected a plank. He mumbled something and then turned to me. His eyes were wide and expression of shocked disbelieve. “Lara, do you know what kind of wood you've gotten here?”

I shook my head in denial. “Nope, is it good enough?”

He laughed, an almost hysterical laugh, “Good enough? This wood Lara is called Adam Tree and is the best possible wood you can find. Nowadays it is illegal to sell and it's worth is high on the black market. The wood for a single normal-sized ship would cost close to 300 million Berry. And here is enough for a large one. Possibly even a smaller warship. We don't need this much, I planned to have our ship only a little bit bigger than the Shadow.

The Adam Tree was used for the best ships in existence. The Oro Jackson, the ship of the Pirate King was made from Adam Tree, so yes, this wood is good enough. It is an extremely lucky find.”

I nodded and knocked on a slab of sea stone. “And this here, it's sea stone. Did the book we gave you tell about its processing and how to put it into the underside of a ship? I kinda liked the fact that sea king couldn't see us”, I asked next.

“Yeah, there was a chapter about sea stone manufacturing. We need to cut it, however. These slabs are too large for me to use,” answered Noa after some moments, he hasn't even looked away from the Adam Tree wood.

“No problem then, I can cut it with a vibration enhanced knife. You only have to tell me how big each piece has to be.” He nodded absentmindedly, still inspecting the wood.
