Lara's POV;
We came together as I have requested. The box with the Devil Fruit laid in the middle of our eating table. The Devil Fruit Encyclopedia next to it. And our 'stolen' fruit from Doflamingo sat comfortably on a velvet cushion. The fruit we got today looked like a swirly black strawberry. The other like a red pear with a golden ring near the top.
“You really have two Devil Fruits, I know of not a single Paradise pirate group that has two Devil Fruits to spare.” Said Koala in surprise and wonder.
“Let's look and search the book for our first fruit. I want to know what we got from Doflamingo”, suggested Nojiko excitedly. Sabo, Koala and Hack glanced at her, surprised that we got something from one of the Seven Warlords.
I nodded, also eager to know, and looked through the book for a matching photo. The picture was halfway through the book. A Zoan, not just any Zoan, it was a freaking Mythical Zoan. “Well, this is..., shit. I think he will know that we stole this. There is no way that he will not know about a fruit this rare.” Cursed Jo. Seems like we will have Doflamingo as an enemy as well.
“What is it. Come, tell us!” Shouted Fiara excitedly. She was too far away to read it herself. Noa and Jonny were also almost bouncing in anticipation.
I first pointed at our newest fruit, “Well, the fruit we won in the tournament is the Paramecia fruit Bone-Bone. It is said to allow the user to control bones. Making them stronger, let them regrow or even use them as weapons by pulling them out of the body or even repelling them as projectiles.” I then moved my finger to the other one. “While this one is the Mythical Zoan fruit, model Human, subclass Angel. It enhances the whole body, gives minor control over fire and some healing powers and regeneration. As well as wings, there is not more said in the book, but I think there are sure to be other abilities.”
The whole group was awed. Mythical Zoan fruits were the rarest of the rare. And one that lets someone keep their human appearance is even rarer. The user will still be able to use all kinds of weapons or communicate.
Lia broke the silence by stating the million Berry question. “So, who wants to eat one?”
At first, none of them said anything. “I think Jo could use the Bone-Bone fruit. He can use the ability to manipulate bones for healing our broken bones and shooting his own bones, probably the finger bones. It can be a good substitute for knives.” I suggested. Hopefully, he will eat it, that would be cool.
Jo hesitated only a moment before he grabbed the strawberry. He ate it with a single bite and then retched from the taste. “This tastes like the worst thing I can imagine. Urgh, I wish I could puke it out.” There were no visible effects. He looked like Jo, sounded like Jo and behaved like Jo.
“Do you feel any different?”, asked Noa with obvious concern. The rest of us was also watching him, some only waiting for something bad to happen.
Jo patted his body down and then inspected his hands. “I don't think so, my whole body got all tingly for a moment, but then it was gone. Lara, Lia, how are you activating your own fruit?” Answered Jo with a followed question.
“We will it to happen. The use of a Devil Fruit is at the start instinctive. You just have to will something that should be possible and it will happen. The more understanding you have of the effect the faster and easier it will be. I, for example, was instantly able to let my hand vibrate, but when I tried it on a stick I had to actively will it. Yours will be passive and active as well. Your bones will be harder and heal faster, most likely. And the active part is the manipulation of bones, yours and others.
You should not limit yourself by thinking that you can only affect your own body. The fruit is about bones, so every kind of bone is under your control. Still, the manipulation of the bones from someone else, especially someone you are not touching, will be way harder and be more tiring than doing it to your own body.” I explained. By telling him that he can also affect other peoples bodies I am trying to stop any unknown mental blockades that might come later if he only uses his own body.
Jo kept staring at his hand and was frowning, then slowly, but steadily, a white bone broke through his hand. The bone kept growing until it was the size of a dagger and had a pointy end. Jo grabbed the bone dagger and then put it on the table. His hand was in no way hurt, neither does he seem to have felt pain.
“This will take some time to get used to. But you are right, it is kinda instinctive. I know what kind of materials my bones are made of and how dense which bone is. If I'm correct, then this one should be as robust as my shin. The human shin can hold roughly 1.5 tonnes.”
I grabbed the bone dagger, not the least bit disturbed that it was once inside Jo. I had stranger things in my hands. I probed it with my vibrations and could feel that it was denser than a bone that is in any part of the arm. “It's at least denser than the bones in your arm. So you can decide how hard and how dense a bone is. Maybe you can also create something like a splinter bone bullet. We'll have to experiment.” He nodded and produced a few more bones. They varied in form, length, thickness and most likely composition.
“As for the angel fruit, well. Nojiko, do you want it?”, I continued with a look at Nojiko. She was in deep thought and took nearly three minutes to come to a conclusion.
“No thank you, I don't think I want to eat one. While an angel fruit sounds promising and strong, the ability to swim is too precious to me.”
“Fine, anyone else?”, I asked again. Jonny, Noa and Yosaku were quick to decline. Stating that they need the ability to swim if they want to be able to save us from drowning. Noa also needed to be able to swim for the maintenance of the ship. And Fiara was not interested in Devil Fruits, too esoteric for her. She likes to tinker with things that clack and click, trying to figure a Devil Fruit out will hinder her hobby.

Koala had just opened her mouth to ask if they can buy it then when I grabbed it as fast as possible and gulped it down without chewing. There's no way I am eating something this foul again. I felt no different than before and looked at the audience.
They were gaping at me. Shock and fear was the major expression, then anger by Nojiko and Jo. The first almost jumped at me and began to shake me like a leave, she even pulled me out of my chair. “Are you crazy?! We've told you that eating a second Devil Fruit kills people!”
I was just about to answer when I felt how something heavy was attached to my back and my Observation Haki grew in extreme strength. I could feel their emotions now clearly. My crew was shocked and in worry, as was Koala. Sabo only was worried a little bit, but there was also some wariness about me and Lia. Hack was just interested in the developments and in what might happen.
I also felt Lia, she was not the least bit concerned. She has full trust in me and in what I do. I could feel her love with the same intensity I felt when we were still in one body and could share our mind.
I knew that she loves me, but feeling it is something beautiful beyond words.
I noticed that the shaking has stopped and that Nojiko was no longer holding me, yet I was still not standing on the ground. I looked away from my smiling Lia to the front and saw the awed look of Nojiko. She, as were most of the present people, was crying.
“Something wrong?”, I asked, looking at myself. I was slightly glowing but other than that I could not see anything. The weight on my back was a pair of white fluffy looking wings.
“Lara, you are projecting an aura of love”, informed Lia me. I raised an eyebrow and tried to find out what I was doing. There was nothing I did actively. I just thought how much I love Lia.
“It's growing stronger”, whispered Jo in awe. Oh, so this is corresponding to my own feelings? I tried to think about something that I don't like. The World Nobles for thinking that they could enslave me and Lia.
“Scary, I have suddenly goose skin all over me”, commented Noa now. I tried to not think about anger, love or anything specific. It seems to have worked, they looked to be not affected any longer.
“Well, we at least know one of your skills now. You can boost morale or lower that of our enemies”, analysed Jo. He was creating a pile of finger bones now. Lia was, not subtly, looking at them with interest. They have the perfect size for her throws.
“And she can at least hover without flapping her wings”, added Yosaku. I tried to focus on my body and willed, hoped, to change back. The weight on my back vanished and the slight glow of my body dimmed down.
“Your wings glowed before they were gone and a few feathers were falling down before turning to nothing, while your halo simply vanished. A pretty transformation”, commented Nojiko, a lot less angered now that she knew that I am not going to die.
“How is that possible, people shouldn't be able to eat two Devil Fruits without dying.” Questioned Sabo more forceful than what would have been normal. He felt kinda angry at me. Seems like my Observation is now always stronger.
“Who knows? Lia and Lara are strange. They also heal faster than the normal human. I am not going to get a headache by trying to figure out how their strange bodies work,” replied Jo, he sounded as if it was the logical thing to do.
Sabo did frown, not happy with such a lackadaisical answer. I will hardly tell him that I can eat a second, and probably a lot more because I have a god given skills. “Whatever it is that allows me to have two Devil Fruit powers, it's cool and I didn't die. Maybe I can also eat a Logia, then I would have all three forms”, I rather said and sat back down on the table.
“I'd rather not, one Devil Fruit is rare, having two is unheard off. You'll have to hide your power. The World Government will hunt you down if they learn about this. And then you will be used as a lab rat,” disagreed Jo instantly. He has stopped with the bullet production. Lia used the pause to sweep the finished bones into her pouch, it was so quick that no one else noticed.
Yosaku also spoked his thoughts. “I'm just glad that we still have a captain.” Noa and Jonny agreed with a nod, the both were still staring at me. As if I would suddenly start to puke blood.
No one said anything else for a moment. And the relative silence was broken by Hack, who stood up. “Well, if that was everything, then I will take a swim and hunt some fishes for dinner.”
Koala and Sabo also excused themselves, they said they need to go over the stolen documents. And Noa left with Fiara to work on a project of theirs. Nojiko went to her room, she said she wanted to plan the course to Water 7. Yosaku and Jonny went out on deck, doing their training regime.
That left me with Lia and Jo. “Do you want to experiment with your fruit?”, I asked.
He looked a little confused for a moment, he was already probing and creating bones.“What do you have in mind? So far I think I have a good grasp on moving and producing bones. I need to be faster and make them stronger, but that should come with time.”
“Yeah, not that. I think you should be able to heal bones of others as well. We could train some with that.” I explained. His frown deepened.
“If I'm not mistaken, then I need some broken bones for that”, he said slowly. Then his eyes widened when he realised what I mean and was about to stop me, but I was too fast. With a snap, I broke my forearm.
“Here, one broken bone. Now try to heal it. It might be easier to first place your hands on the broken place”, I said without a sign of pain and reached over the table with the broken arm.
It was kinda hard to break my own arm. The bones are way harder than what it was before eating the fruit. This means that my whole body is now sturdier, that's really nice.
Jo didn't look amused, he did look angry even. I'm only giving him something to learn.“For fuck's sake! Would you stop with your stupidity? We could have waited for the end of Jonny and Yosaku's spar. They often crack a bone,” raged Jo.
He nonetheless took my arm with careful hands and began to inspect the break. “At least it is a clean one,” he mumbled. He then traced the break with his index finger and I felt how the bone began to close rapidly. Once the bone was mended he let go of my arm and glared at me.
“See, I can heal others. Now don't break your arm again. Also, you were already healing when I started. I don't know how, but I kinda felt that they would have been healed within an hour, even if I hadn't done anything.”
“That's cool. Now, the book said that the angel fruit has healing powers as well. Lia, can I test them on you?” I said excitedly. Broken bones would have needed a few days before, now they are healed within an hour.
“Only under supervision. I don't want you to butch something up. I know that you know how the body works and all, but we are speaking about Devil Fruits here”, interrupted Jo by grabbing Lia's hand. She has had already pulled her shirt up and was in the middle of undoing the bandages.
So we changed locations and Jo allowed Lia to continue when she was sitting on the bed for patients. I looked closely at her wound. It was healing fine from the outside, but the most damage was done to her insides. I touched the stitches softly and tried to activate my Devil Fruit. I felt how my wings were back and my halo must be shining over my head as well. It was giving some good light to the wound.
I then willed her wounds to heal, imagined how the tissue began to knit itself together, how the cells were regrowing and the blood vessels restarted with their supply of oxygen and nutrients. It worked, the still slightly red seams on her wound lost their angry red colour and changed back into the almost white skin of my Lia.
I also noticed how this was really tiring. I don't think I can do this more than once without a long rest. And this was a wound that was already healing and none life threatening. I don't think I will be able to heal something that is really dangerous. Not now at least.
The whole thing might have taken me five minutes and Jo was watching the whole thing like a hawk. I removed my hand and he started to examine the now healed wound. Her strings were still inside and will have to be pulled. However, he couldn't find something to nag about. Lia confirmed that she was no longer feeling anything strange and Jo's probing couldn't find anything wrong.
“Well, your new fruit seems to be able to heal by touching”, stated Jo after his lengthy test.
“So I'm healed according to you?”, asked Lia with a hopeful and strange tone in her voice. Jo was not really paying attention to her, he was more focused on the possibilities of such a power, so he only mumbled a yes over his shoulder. The next moment I found myself lifted off, flung over Lia's shoulder and carried out of the room.
“We'll be busy for the next three hours then”, shouted Lia. She was rushing to our room. It was only a day and a half that we haven't had sex. Why is she this needy? Well, I won't complain.
We reached our room and she threw me on our bed. “You've gotten heavier, must be the fruit. Now strip!” She followed her own command and helped me when I wasn't fast enough for her.
