Lara's POV
Gathering and placing our stuff back into place took the rest of the day. The birds were helping us and even showed us where we could find the ship of the pirates. We looted it as well, the food was appreciated. However, the best thing was Nami's reaction when we found their treasure room. Most of the stuff was ours, but she didn't know that.
It was even Nami that found the room. All of us were quickly informed when she did so. I didn't know that someone could come from the sight of money, but apparently, it was possible. The moment she saw and realized how much money there was inside the room she came and let out a loud moan.
Nojiko, Yosaku and I were also on the ship at that time and quickly rushed over to her, her moan did sound strange and we thought something happened.
What we found was quite bizarre. Nami was sitting on her knees, she was too weak to stand. Her body was still quivering from the aftershocks of a massive orgasm and her eyes were dilated.
Naturally, Nojiko was the first to reach her. She was kneeling next to her sister and asking her if everything was okay, but Nami could only answer with. “So much money.”
“Is it? I don't think there is much more than what we have had. Most of that stuff was ours, to begin with,” commented Yosaku with a confused expression.
Nami's head turned so fast it made a cracking sound. “What? How much money do you have? From where do you have so much?”
“Eh, we killed a Sea King that ate a lot of shiny stuff. Sold the gold and anything other valuable at Sabaody. How much was it again Nojiko?”
“We got 5.000.000.000 Berry from the sold gold. But Lara decided she had to buy Devil Fruits and wasted quite a lot on them. Now we have three fruits no one wants to eat,” she punctuated that with a glare at me.
I raised my hands in defence, the money was well spent. I don't want to ever fight someone with those fruits. Regeneration, unknown and stealing, two of them are dangerous beyond anything and the last one has the potential to be. “That were well spent 618.000.000 Berry,” I defended myself with a nod.
Nami's eyes almost fell out of their sockets, so wide did she open them. “What? How could you spend so much money on three Devil Fruits?” She has stood up now and was shaking me. I just stared at her, unimpressed.
A moment later she sunk back down to the ground and was mumbling about money, the stuff she could, would and wants to buy, as well as how unfair life was to her.
“Ahaha, anyway, we should grab our money and leave. This ship stinks like animals,” laughed Yosaku while already gathering the many stacks of money. I agreed, the whole ship stunk.
Soon we were back on our own ship and on our way to Poultry, we will arrive in a day or two. Not Mrs Chicken Wing was obviously excited to be back home again and Herbert as well was looking quite eager to see his home.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The island looked like a giant nest. No seriously, it does. We were hovering a few kilometres above the ground and looking down at the island. A mountain range was enclosing most of the island, a river was the only thing connecting the inland with the sea.
The mountain had many smaller mountains sticking out of it, giving it the appearance of a nest. The middle of the island was mostly flat and even from up in the sky I could make out the signs of villages and a single city. The city was located around a middle-sized lake from which the river originated. The only building I could make out from this far away was a large mansion-like building. “There are houses on the mountain ring and a large city in the middle of the island. There even are a few ships in the lake.”
Mrs Chicken Wing clucked proudly. “Bough!” By now my bird was fluent enough to understand most of what she wants to say. She was praising the magnificence of her home, telling us that it will look even better from close up.
“There is only a small problem,” piped Noa up while pointing downwards. His tone was pretty much lackadaisical.
Nami looked at him as if he was crazy. “Small? There are over thirty super large warships from the Marines here. The last time I have seen such large ships were in Enies Lobby.”
“Hmm, yeah. How come your people haven't destroyed that blockade already? Shouldn't it be easy? I mean aren't all of you like freaking super birds?” Asked Jonny good-naturedly.
Mrs Chicken Wing clucked, conveying the expression that not all of them are as strong as her. And that the birds on the last island were only so strong because they had to live in the wilderness. A second cluck said that most citizen were not very skilled in Haki, even when all of them can use it.
Herbert also pointed out that they don't need to leave the island, so why wasting effort where it is not needed?
“Cluck!” Translation; But that will change now that we are back!
I was not sure what he meant with that but did also not really care. “Well then, bring us down a bit Fiara, I'll take care of the ships. You guys handle the Marines able to use Geppo.” Fiara saluted and we started our descend.
The Marines had already seen us and were preparing to fight back, not that it will help them. The moment their ships were in my reach I started to affect their ships with my vibration. The nails, screws and reinforced parts of the ship began to violently vibrate and become loose.
Within moments their ships were beginning to fall apart. Soon those closest to us were no more and their crew was frantically trying to get to their comradeships before a Sea King could take a bite out of them. Those who have eaten Devil Fruits and weren't able to use Geppo were already sinking down.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Still, Sea Kings were their smallest concern. The real danger stood next to me. Lia was not throwing her projectiles down, instead, she lowered the propelling pressure these Marines could generate by swimming. It had a quick and slightly disturbing effect.
They all were no longer able to stay above the surface and started to drown. It didn't matter how much they struggled, kicked their legs or waved with their arms. Had it been air it would have been different, but the water was a lot thicker and Lia could decrease what little propulsion they were generating with ease.
And if I knew Lia, which I do really good, she was only decreasing it enough for them to not put their heads above the water, while their arms still could breach the surface. They know that fresh air is only a short few centimetres away, yet they wouldn't be able to get further up. I never want to be in their position.
Soon enough the few hundred Marines, of whom most we could not really see due to the distance, were dead and snacks for the Sea Kings. The sudden increase of movement in the water, as well as the many tiny tasty snacks, was also perfect bait for any nearby water monster.
It wasn't long before the water got disturbed and a group of four mid-sized Sea Kings came up. They looked around, ate a few of the drowning or already dead humans and then turned their attention to the nearby, still swimming, ships.
The Marines saw the danger they were in and were trying to get away from us and the Sea Kings, while shooting their cannons at the animals and up at us. The later wasn't effective at all, while the first drew the anger of the Sea Kings.
A battle started and the Sea Kings began to destroy the warships. “A good hundred soldiers are coming up to say hello. Fiara, please be a dear and greet them accordingly,” spoke Lia suddenly.
Fiara pushed a few buttons and the autocannons of our ship started to activate. With a low rumble and hum, they powered up and then began to fire rapidly. The sky was filled with cloud bullets and anyone not truly skilled in Geppo was quickly shot down.
“That is how we fight. Marines won't hesitate when they fight us, that's why we can't as well. Some are okay, we usually don't kill Smoker, but most are not as fortunate as him,” I explained to the awestruck Nami.
“But isn't this only making the World Government more angry at you? We never had to fight so many, so big, warships at once. Couldn't you prevent fighting by not killing all of them?” Questioned Nami. What she said was true, the Marines aren't hunting the Straw Hats as diligently as us. Not that they are doing it after losing so many ships and personal against us, but still.
I still laughed loudly. She thought that had been an option, ha. “Nami, I bitch slapped one of the Admirals during the war against Whitebeard, I betrayed them openly and killed some of their higher ranked members. Lia and the rest broke into Impel Down, the most secure prison in the world, and destroyed it. I don't think we can get much higher on the shit list of the World Government.”
“Well, we would be higher if they knew that you were responsible for the death of the three World Nobles and not Luffy. Still, with how we are, it is only a matter of time until that happens,” muttered Jo, he wasn't against killing World Nobles, he just wanted to point out that we could be more hated by the Marines.
Nami opened her mouth and closed it a few times. She was unable to say anything to that. I think she was remembering the total beating they received from Aokiji before Water 7. That I 'bitch slapped' an Admiral was too shocking for her.
“Anyway, there are still too many warships left. The Sea Kings are taking care of the left side, the autocannons are doing good work against the small fries that are trying to come up, but there are still a good dozen on our right side.
Any suggestions? Should we shoot at them with our main cannon? Should Lia bombard them or something else?”
“Well, you have never tested the full strength of your newest fruit,” offered Nojiko. Fiara and Inari were nodding in agreement.
I, however, was not sure if that would be a good idea. “I don't know, Whitebeard's fruit wasn't said to be strong enough to destroy the world for nothing. Its full use will cause tsunami and earthquakes, I don't want to destroy Poultry.”
“Is that really possible? Weren't you able to make quakes before?” Asked Yosaku. True, during training I had tested a few times if I could cause strong quakes. I could, it just has had a too high energy consumption.
“Well yeah, but it's different. Since eating his fruit the power of my vibrations, especially those in lower frequency, has increased strongly. I would have to test it out on the open sea to be sure, but from what I can feel I would say that destroying the island would be quite easy.
It's a Fruit that needs to be in the hands of someone who knows restraint. It's good that I did not allow Blackbeard to get his hands on it.”
Lia was the first to voice her opinion. “I'm not really in the mood to prolong this fight unnecessarily. Can't I just sink them by throwing down some really heavy stones?”
“Well, it could be great training to fight one or two ships,” added Jo. He was also not hiddenly looking at Nami. Yeah, she needs the experience.
I agreed, we can do both as well. “Very well, Nami, pick two ships out. You and everyone who wants to will take those two out. Lia, you can destroy the rest.”
Nami pointed at herself as if she was asking if I had addressed her, when I said nothing else she gulped and pointed at the two closest ships that were to our right. “These two, they are close.”
Lia looked at the two ships, then pulled a handful of her pebbles out of her pouch, i.e. her inventory.
And threw a few at each of the other remaining ships on the right side. The other side was left untouched, the Sea Kings will take care of that side.
Naturally, each of her thrown pebbles hit true. Massive explosions were ripping huge chunks out of each ship that got hit. Sometimes the attack penetrated through the whole ship and left a deep hole that quickly filled itself with water.
“Well then, who wants to go? Nami has to do it on her own if no one wants to help,” I then asked with a slightly evil smirk. Nami got extremely pale and looked pleadingly at her sister and our idiotic duo.
Of course, the sister would help, but our duo also caved in remarkably quickly. Refusing help to a pretty, teary young woman was hard, I know. “I want too!” Fiara also seems to be in the mood to burn a few Marines. She was excitedly jumping up and down on Nojiko's shoulder. A flamethrower was already in her hands and one of her rocket packages was strapped to her back.
“Nami, are you able to use Waver-Skates?” I asked suddenly. If she can use those she will have an easier time coming down and will not need to be carried.
Nami nodded, happy to finally be able to use something we also do. “Yep, I tried them out in Skypia and found them to be relatively easy to use, why?”
“Because you'll get a pair and ride down on a cloud. We can't carry you always and until you can use Geppo on your own it will be the best way for you to get down on your own,” I explained while Fiara ran into the ship and fetched a pair for Nami.
She came back and Nami quickly finished strapping them on to her feet. She then looked for a cloud dial, but Fiara hasn't given her one. Instead, Lia was holding one, it will be more precise if she were to throw it. Which she quickly did, she also threw a few more, each intercrossing with one or more lines. This way Nami won't become an easy target for snipers.
“I'll follow right after you, Nai-chan,” assured Nojiko with a smile. She had her assault rifle already ready and was also wearing a pair of Waver-Skates. Nami thanked her and then jumped on the hard cloud. Yosaku, Fiara and Jonny also jumped overboard, but without any device on their feet.
I turned to Lia. “Would you please keep an eye on Nami? We don't need to risk anything,” I then said. Lia nodded briskly, jumped overboard, but stayed hovering in the air. Her eyes were following Nami and her Observation was focusing on anyone that had intentions of harming her.
With that done I looked at the rest, especially Mrs Chicken Wing. “Say, Mrs Chicken Wing, are there any special customs we have to keep in mind? Anything we should or shouldn't do?”
She cooked her head to the side and thought for a moment before she started to explain what we could and could not do. From beneath us, the sound of battle rung up.
