The rampant demolishing flames that thousands of cultivators avoided earlier started to shrink at an alarming rate. It was as if a black hole opened up in the center of blazes and started vacuuming in everything inside. The influx of power created a Qi storm inside Ryu but the sensation was electrifying.
Then something Ryu haven’t noticed in a long time finally started moving again. In the very core of his Qi reservoir was a tree-like object, it was stationary for a while but it suddenly started blooming. The gushing Qi caused his reservoirs to expand since the alternative is to simply explode. The mysterious trees that exists inside each reservoirs started to branch out endlessly, a rumbling sound could be heard which signaled that this was just the beginning.
As the magical trees kept expanding, the ball of misty Qi started spinning madly in each reservoir. Ryu quickly followed the Path to True Immortality Scripture provided by the divine Qilin. According to the skill, an essence should be a sphere. Spheres have the most volume to surface area. The more volume, the more Qi can be stored. Usually when an essence form, most cultivators just throw in and compress as much Qi as they could and a crystalline solid core would be formed. The roots of the trees seeped in deeply into the reservoirs and fruits and leafs kept blooming left and right. The Qi within him just kept on rotating in the shape of a sphere.
In the span of less than a minute the enormous sea of flames was all devoured. Ryu’s body was all that was left. He was out of the One-Time Untouchable state and floating in the air.
Ryu entered a state similar to when he was unconscious after getting stabbed. An all-consuming glow that’s blinding to stare was shooting out of him. The skies boomed as thunder clouds gathered around him. Heavy rain along with fist sized hail started to fall from the skies as well. The earth below hollowed and cracked, real lava from the core of the earth sprung out. Qi within his vicinity started to flow towards him as if he was their sovereign. Trees even started bending towards his direction as they donated their own Qi towards Ryu’s cause. Rocks splintered from the floor and grinded into dust particles as they entered Ryu as well.
Everything entered Ryu’s all at once until the environment around Ryu had nothing more to give and then the natural disasters disappeared. It was as if nothing ever happened.
“Oww.” A sharp pain on could be felt on Ryu’s bottom as he dropped from mid-air on to the ground.
An indeterminate amount of time had passed since he spoke with the sword. Ryu was in a trance that felt like paradise. He wasn’t sure what transpired or for how long but he felt like a new man. Not a trace of external or internal wounds can be felt. It was as if he had undergone a metamorphosis from a cocoon to a butterfly.
Four large globes of power now rotated around inside him. These were his essences! Four perfect spheres, each brimming with unimaginable power. If one could see past the blinding light each emitted then they would see a shockingly tall tree that stems from the bottom of his essence to nearly the top. The difference between Ryu now and the previous Ryu in the King Domain was like heaven and earth. Ryu felt like he had been reborn. His body’s physique was on a whole new level, he could see a kilometer away perfectly without Qi. He felt like his body could be comparable to steel.
While he can’t go as far as saying he could take on General Suun, he is sure he can beat the Gem Thief and the Emotionless Witch in a fair fight. The Gem Thief made physical contact with Ryu which pretty much sealed his fate before anything started. The Emotionless Witch was already injured by Xenos before Ryu fought her. Both were in peak Emperor Domain but Ryu’s confident that even though he is only in early Emperor Domain, he can at least hold his own.
“Hehe. You finally woke up.” A childish girl’s voice can be heard.
“Where are you?” Ryu asked as the voice came out of nowhere.
A clean but alluring blade suddenly started protruding from his right palm. The blade was thin but elegant, Ryu could see himself in the crystal clear reflection. The whole blade seemed to be made of a white sparkling gem, like a diamond. Even the hilt and the handle were sparkling. One shocking thing was that Ryu couldn’t see through the sword with his special vision that outlines everything in Qi. The sword also seems to be connected with Ryu on some level, he could feel unexplainable magical abilities from within it.
“Here I am. I was so bored. Your body is so boring. That cute puppy is so mean to me. The plants inside you are still immature.” The blade spoke as it suddenly started flying around him in circles.
“What’s your name?” Ryu wanted to thank the blade. He had feeling that without the aid of this mysterious sword, Ryu could not have formed his essences at all. He can’t even imagine what she meant by cute puppy. The only thing he knows that resembles a puppy inside him is the grandiose titan-sized Qilin which emitted power beyond common sense. How could she call it a cute puppy?
“It’s not time for you to know yet.”
“Where did you come from?” Ryu made an attempt at grabbing the sword by its hilt but somehow his hand went through it, as if it was transparent.
“Who knows?”
“Are you a sword or a girl?”
“I’m not sure, what do you think?”
“Thank you for your help…”
“What help? Do you need help?”
This pattern went on a bit before Ryu gave up. Besides having a childish tone, the nameless sword seems to be very immature as well.
“What would you like to do?” Ryu asked finally. Now that he has formed his essences, he is in no rush to do anything urgent. Exoe had also been suppressed by the Qilin. Even if Exoe runs rampant within his body now, Ryu was confident he could extinguish him with just a thought. There is no need to for him to enter the Thousand Swords Graveyard anymore. Well it’s more like he can’t, all he sees now is a desolate land with an enclosed colossal Enchanting barrier established for countless kilometers. The barrier itself was a luminous orange wall that seems to reach higher than the clouds. There was no way for Ryu to break an Orange Tier Enchantment even if he reached Emperor Domain just now.
“Hmm I want to do something fun. That perverted old man is not here anymore, let’s go steal his treasures!” The sword said excitedly as it shot towards the enchantment which was a few hundred meters away. The fierce wind generated by its movements informed Ryu that it had transformed into something physical to this world.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Ryu looked on with strange expectation. The magical sword looked extraordinary, maybe it can breach the Enchantment that are made by Saint Domain experts? Saint Domain cultivators are people who have gone through Rebirth after reaching the peak of Sovereign Domain.
This divine sword which contains a will of her own and was supposedly forged by the Gods… surely is nearly invincible after Ryu thought carefully about it.
Bang! Like a bullet bouncing off bullet-proof glass, the sword which seemingly was about to pierce through the almighty barrier was repelled with a shocking force. The diamond-like blade rolled a few times on the ground before getting impaled into a rock.
Ryu was stunned for a moment before he dashed forward towards the nameless sword. Just as Ryu neared, the sword shot out of the rock and screamed “Ow! My head.”
The brilliant shinny blade was floating in mid-air at the moment when suddenly the Infinity Tomes around Ryu went near it and gave it a nudge. Now to most people it might not be surprising but Ryu was so sacred he nearly fell off his feet.
The beyond divine tomes of his that couldn’t be seen or touched by Prince Na’Vi, the Drunken Master, or even the celestial Qilin could actually make contact with this nameless blade. Ryu was already treating the nameless sword as a sacred object but now it holds a position equally high as the tomes.
The nameless blade seemed to have been in shock as well when it felt the nudge. Like innocent harmless pets that met each other for the first time, they seemed to be weary of each other. The three mystical tomes were gathered on one side as the blade slowly approached them. If there were communicating then Ryu was not privy to it as he heard nothing.
Suddenly one of the tomes started bouncing up in down in joy as if it was happy. The other tomes also made small gestures as if they were confirming something. Without a warning the four divine objects disappeared into thin air. Disappeared isn’t the right word, they became invisible to Ryu but Ryu could still sense the four foreign objects near him.
“I’m going to have a chat with my new friends, we’ll see you later.” The previous crying blade’s voice could be heard from a distance.
Ryu didn’t know if he should laugh or cry. He wasn’t sure what just happened but he had been ditched by his very own buddies. He didn’t even know they could hide themselves from him. Ryu looked around as he found himself all alone in the desolate environment.
He slowly walked around the tangerine colored barrier that guards the Thousand Swords Graveyard as he tried to rationalize what just happened and pondered on a few topics. He managed to form four optimal essences thanks to the mysterious nameless blade. That blade was made by Gods and Immortals. Does that mean his Infinity Tomes were from the same makers? What should he call the sword? What should he do with Exoe?
After a few minutes Ryu gave up on thinking and decided to find a way to sneak into the Thousand Swords Graveyard. Ryu willed his clone that was flying with Exoe to continue flying towards the Lin Empire’s capital. He then double checked that everything was alright with his grandparents via his second clone. Then Ryu did a few simple stretches before bending down like an athlete would before a sprinting race. This was only one of seventy-seven entrances, perhaps he could find another entrance that’s still open.
Bang! The moment Ryu kicked off, a sonic boom went off as Ryu utilize the profound movement arts under his disposal to run at a phenomenal speed around the Enchantment. As Ryu disappeared into the horizon at a speed rarely seen on the Heaven Continent, a pair of dim purple stared at Ryu leave from the shadows from afar.
In a nameless frenzied space that rained meteors and had deadly black holes opening randomly in the background, an alluring humanoid female shaped figure could be seen staring at an impossibly oversized pond that was five times larger than her. Her eyes were ruby red with five linked circles in the center. She was sitting in a decadent throne that was taller than any mountains in the mortal world. Beside her stood two much smaller humanoid beings that lowered their heads with respect, awaiting on her orders.
In the cosmic pond contained an outline of what seems to be a map of the Heaven Continent. A handful of specks of dots could be seen. Some dots shined brighter than the rest while most were dim and almost invisible. Her eyes shone with amusement as she looked at a particular black dot. With her divine powers, she was able to sense the power fluctuations on the land. A black dot… would represent a tear in space.
“That person who managed to rip apart space in the new world we painstakingly built eons ago… I knew he or she was still around. What is that old man hiding from me?” The intimidating figure staring at the enormous pond sighed. The majestic figure was eying the cluster of dots gathered at one particular location and spoke casually. “What are the humans on our land up to this time? Let’s go use that old man’s mirror.”
“Goddess Ying, we shouldn’t be using one of the nine divine instruments like this… what if you get caught looking at lands that don’t belong to us? The relationship between the heavenly realms are unstable at the moment.” One of the servants said politely. His name was Fing. The other servants name was Qhi. Both stood humbly beside Goddess Ying with their heads lowered.
“That sly old man left me in charge, what’s wrong with me borrowing it for a bit? And of course I know better than to look at other continents other than the one we own. Sheesh you two.” She peered into the chaotic land in front of her with intrigue as if she could see what was actually occurring near the Thousand Swords Graveyard.
“…” Fing shut his mouth and kept quiet. Obviously there was a gap in their rankings. The thing he was worried about is his own punishment if they get in trouble.
“Goddess Ying, even if the Supreme Jade Emperor favors you, you shouldn’t -” The female servant named Qhi didn’t even manage to finish her sentence before Goddess Ying vanished.
“I just need a glimpse of you then I’ll have my own means of obtaining you. If you are what I think you are… you’ll be very useful to me.” The Goddess Ying said with her lips pursed.
[Note: Goddess Ying reported a disturbance in space and the Jade Emperor used a mirror-like object to check out Ryu. Chapter 29]
