Two more apparitions appeared suddenly, they were holograms of the middle-aged man and the elder woman in the two coffins.
“These are my two masters, ex-minister of foreign affairs Cao’Po’Li and ex-High Priest Vi’Ta’En.
“Finally, our eternal wait has ended.” Vi’Ta’En spoke warmly, she had a tired expression but there was a hint of relief.
“Blah, how did this youngster pass our trials?” Cao’Po’Li said unhappily.
“This boy is extraordinary, he is much more talented than I who was proclaimed to be the greatest genius born from the Sky Continent. Don’t worry master Cao, he can definitely carry out our last wish.” Na’Vi said with a chuckle.
“Passing our Trial of Talent, Courage, and Sins… he does have the qualification.” Vi’Ta’En said.
“Before we reward you with our essences, please take a look at our story. This won’t hurt.” Na’Vi said gently.
“Look?” Ryu asked curiously. A beam shot out from the fingers of the projection of Na’Vi and landed between Ryu’s eyes.
Ryu found himself standing inside a fancy shrine. Na’Vi appeared right beside him.
“This is just a piece of my memory, we are nothing more than ghosts here.” Na’vi explained as Ryu tried touching the wall but felt his hand slip right through.
“Your majesty, the second prince is without a doubt a peerless genius! He has reached the requirements for the first Rebirth in less than five thousand years! This has to be the record for our Sky Continent if not the entire world!” An old man with the longest beard Ryu has seen was shouting in excitement. The beard was dragging across his feet.
“Hmmm you are right. The future of our kingdom will be depending on him. You must support your brother Cu-Pi-Ex.” A serious suave man in a majesty gown said approvingly. Beside him were three beautiful women in identical extravagant attires. The one in the middle had an ugly expression though. The youngest woman was praising the other saying how her son has a bright future.
“Yes father.” A youth with striking resemblance to the king said politely. He smiled warmly as if he was genuinely happy for his younger brother.
“When I grow up, I want to be just like brother Na’Vi.” A young boy that looked no older than ten said eagerly.
The king just laughed and patted his head, “You’ll have to work hard little Li’Mo.”
The scene changed once again.
“Prince Na’Vi had only ascended sixty thousand years ago but he’s ready for a second rebirth! The first princess took over half a million years to get to this point!” The same bearded guy exclaimed loudly once again to the king.
“Who knows what his limits are!” One elder in a white robe said in admiration.
“That’s expected of course from the disciple of I, Cao’Po’Li.” Cao’Po’Li said proudly.
“Psh with his talents, he doesn’t need a useless old geezer like you to teach him. Besides the credit probably goes to the High Priest anyways haha.” Another elder in a white robe said.
“Good good my son.” The king said as he hugged the Na’Vi in the memory. Ryu looked beside him and saw the current Na’Vi, or more accurately his projection, sighing. Looking at where the projection was staring, Ryu saw the first prince with a forced smile this time. His fist was clenched and his eyes twitched.
A few more scenes regarding Na’Vi’s achievements were shown. He drove back an invasion by a group of frost giants. He successfully tamed a dragon as his companion. He won a tournament between the experts of eleven continents that occurs once every a hundred thousand years. He ventured into a deadly dungeon and came back with many priceless treasures. Each time Na’Vi accomplished something, his already famous reputation kept rising.
However, Ryu noticed that the expression of his brother, Cu-Pi-Ex, was getting gloomier and darker each time he heard of Na’Vi’s achievements. The king seemed to treat the two with the same kind of love but he can’t help but to praise Na’Vi more.
A scene with a gorgeous view on top of an impossibly tall tree appeared. This tree was larger than any mountains that Ryu had set eyes on. The Na’Vi from the memory was kneeling down in front of a beautiful woman. She had immaculate skin, silky blond hair and a face that was so perfect, you won’t find a flaw even if you were an inch away.
“Will you marry me Vi’Li’An?” Na’Vi asked as he produced a ring embedded with countless beautiful gems.
“Yes, yes! A hundred times yes.” Vi’Li’An cried out in joy. The two passionately embraced and kissed. Afterwards they rushed back to the palace to spread the news. As expected, Cao’Po’Li was there. He couldn’t pretend to smile like before and stormed out. One of the King’s wives went after him.
“Not only are you losing the successor position to that brat, you also lost the girl? I can’t believe I have a worthless son like you!” The woman that was usually with the king shouted at him in the hallway and walked away. No one else was in the hallway but Cu-Pi-Ex showed lethal killing intent that could make anyone shiver.
Then the scene flashed forward to a conference room. The mood was dark and serious, unlike the previous scenes.
“The dark forces are invading through the continents. After they are done with the Ice Continent, we’ll be next my king.” An elder solemnly said.
“Cu-Pi-Ex, Na’Vi, and I will take the initiative and strike them before they reach our land then.” The king said after a moment of thought.
“Your majesty, both you and the princes are too valuable to go into war! Other people can take charge instead!” An elderly woman protested loudly.
“Cu-Pi-Ex and Na’Vi are both Superior Deities! Both are step away from having another Rebirth in a few thousand years. Tell me, who else have capabilities close to theirs? Also as the only Celestial in the Sky Continent, how can I stay back and watch our troops go out to battle? End of discussion, carry out my order and prepare our troops!” The king commanded firmly.
The scene flashed to night time. The king slowly entered Na’Vi’s room in private.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Na’Vi, if something unfortunate were to happen to me during this war… I want you succeed me. Your talent exceeds your brother but that’s not the reason why I am choosing you. You are compassionate and wise while your brother is driven by pure ambition. It’ll be less of a burden on him if he manages to be free of the duties of the king and pursue a path he wants later on.” The king said as he handed Na’Vi an object. It turned out to be an oversized silver key that’s the size of a regular adult’s arm.
“Father… I can’t. You know how much this means to big brother.” Na’Vi said as he protested but the king ignored him and left.
A few minutes later Na’Vi looked out the window in surprise, obviously something had caught his attention. In a flash he flew out of the palace and into the forest that was beside it. In a few seconds he entered a cave.
Ryu gasped loudly. This cave looked identical to the dome that he found his tome in! In the center was also a rock that was floating in mid-air.
“Who are you? How dare you trespass into my kingdom? This sacred room is off limits for someone like you.” Na’Vi said angrily towards the center which was empty at the moment. A figure suddenly emerged from thin air, he was covered in a dark robe.
“Your reputation precedes you, to be able to sense me is quite something.” The hooded figure said in a soft hiss. He wasn’t the least bit scared at the moment, he reached for the floating rock and grabbed hold of the rock.
Without replying, Na’Vi held up the silver key that the king left him and a dazzling glow covered the whole dome.
“The… Great Spirit? Impossible, what is that fool Cu-Pi-Ex doing?” The hooded figure yelled in rage as his body is slowly devoured by the white light. After a while nothing of the hooded figure remained except the robes he wore, a few storage rings, an old gauntlet and another piece of rock identical to the one floating in the room.
“Two more tomes?” Ryu said in shock.
“Tomes?” The projection of Na’Vi said in a surprised voice. Ryu was too shocked to explain at the moment, he focused on what Na’Vi from the memory is doing.
“How did a Deity Level intruder from the Dark Continent come here so easily? How did he remove the sacred rock? And why is there two? Did he already take one from another continent? What could they be up to?” Na’Vi asked himself as he took the storage rings the robed figure left behind.
“Why isn’t dad picking up? Teachers, please meet me at the throne room! Something urgent has come up.” Na’Vi said through a Voice Crystal. He first attempted to call the king but there was no response so he called his teachers instead.
He stored the robe and gauntlet into the rings but failed in his attempts to store the two rocks into the storage rings so he tucked one under each arm and dashed out. He shot forward like a beam of light and went straight for the throne room.
“Father!” Na’Vi shouted as he opened the doors. The scene in front of him was shocking, the king was clutched over a table and black blood was dripping out of his mouth. The black blood that did land on the table was melting right through it.
“Don’t speak father!” Na’Vi said in a panicky tone. He pressed two of his hands on his father’s back and started channeling his inner strength.
“What a powerful poison, it’s not just eating away at your soul but converting it into more poison!” Na’Vi said in surprise. The king’s complexion kept getting worse by the second.
Cu-Pi-Ex suddenly ran in and looked surprised as well.
“Brother quickly help me cure father, he has been poisoned!” Na’Vi said with great effort, it was all he could do to keep the poison at bay.
“Ok don’t move!” Cu-Pi-Ex said as he ran forward. However what he did next was unexpected. Once he got behind Na’Vi, he took out a small dagger and stabbed him right at his heart from behind.
Na’Vi didn’t even know what happened as he fell to the ground. He looked up to see his brother holding the bloody daggered that pieced his heart. The brother laughed sinisterly as Na’Vi watched in disbelief.
“I deserve to be king, you are nothing! I have lived a million years longer than you! Ha I see you took care of the vice-head from the Hades Sect. That makes my life easier. What a useless fool, he exchanged me this potent poison just for some alone time in the ancient ruins but ended up getting killed.” Cu-Pi-Ex rambled on like a madman as he rummaged through Na’Vi’s possessions. Then he saw the silver key.
“The… Key of Babylon. So you did intend to give the throne to him. Not only did you take my woman away, you also took my positon? It’s my birthright to be king!” Cu-Pi-Ex shouted in rage as he kicked Na’Vi and the king brutally. The two could only cough up blood, they were in no position to talk back.
“Don’t even think about escaping, I’ve already relieved the guards of all duty in case you haven’t noticed.” Cu-Pi-Ex said cruelly as he stabbed Na’Vi once again in the chest.
“Cu-Pi-Ex what are you doing?” An angry voice bellowed out from the doorway. Vi’Ta’En, the High Priest, had a look of anger that no one has seen before. Cao’Po’Li came into view a second later and stared in shock.
Suddenly a white light cube surrounded Cu-Pi-Ex. The king muttered, “Foolish son… Cao’Po’Li … Vi’Ta’En… Take Na’Vi and run… you guys are no match for him. ”
Na’Vi was paralyzed and unable to move but tears flowed down his cheeks as his teachers scooped him up and took him away. The Key of Babylon and the two stone pieces of taken with them as well. The trio flew for weeks and got pursued by their own men. The escape was truly difficult, in the end even Na’Vi’s teachers got injured gravely but they made it to the Heaven Continent.
The illusions suddenly ended and Ryu was standing in the middle of the temple once again.
“As you saw, during the last Great War against the Dark Continent I was betrayed by my elder brother. The wound I received were not fatal but my body is lethally poisoned, fated to rot away. My teachers gave up their remaining life to sustain me and this scared temple. One of the three treasures of our land besides the Key of Babylon. Our hope is that someone worthy will be able to bring justice to my mislead brother who is probably the king of the Sky Continent now.” Na’Vi’s projection implored genuinely at Ryu.
