Chapter three; Part two. Welcome to lands Beyond.

Chapter three; Part two. Welcome to lands Beyond.

If there was a sentence to describe this world, it would be a world straight out of classical fiction novels and tales. Every creation of pure imagination has become a reality here. The magic and miracles that were once believed to be mere rumors or impossibilities exist in this world. Mythical creatures like dragons, griffins, and unicorns abide by the laws of this realm. It feels like a long fever dream, but unfortunately, it is not. Through repeated reality tests, I have confirmed the authenticity of this world.

I have undergone a drastic transformation from my previous appearance. Once with chin-length brown hair and a thin, fragile body, I now possess ashen, untidy hair. Even as a child, I feel a significant difference in my physical condition, as if I have inherited healthier and more vigorous anatomy from my deceased father, a knight of the church. While I appreciate the change and have always had an affinity for the ashen color, I cannot deny the discomfort of inhabiting someone else's body from the beginning. The thought disgusts me.

"Makas! Are you ready?" my mother called out.

"Yeah, mother," I replied indifferently.

"Stop with the formality, Makas! Call me mom! It's cuter!"

"Right..." I nodded, filled with sorrow.

Today, I was supposed to accompany my mother, Freia, to the market as we needed to restock our supplies and food. Over the past six years, I have spent most of my time with her, engaging in household chores. And the other half, I have spent studying the nature of this world. It was only natural for me to be interested in it, considering my circumstances. Immersing myself in the background and history of this new medieval-like world provided some relief from the anxiety that has plagued me.

However, when I first came across the ancient records and theories about the old gods, the cosmic war, angels, demons, dragons, the Maidens, the Red Emperor, and the fall of the Infinity Order, I felt a deep sense of fear. It was akin to reading a speculative tale, compounded by the nightmares I experienced in the old world. Those memories shaped who I have become here and will influence my future. I am the sole witness to truths and lies, the horrors that reside in the void.

This world, much like the old one, is built upon a grand deception. How many others remain blind to these truths? It is a horrifying universe, filled with despair and lies, a perpetuated cycle orchestrated by the old ones. I am left with the knowledge that there is nothing I can do but hope for death to swiftly take me away.

----------------------------------------

As I delved deeper into the history of the Land's Beyond and its various regions, I found myself engrossed in the narratives of the six nations and the scattered civilizations. It served as a temporary distraction from the lingering sense of despair that weighed on me.

The Land's Beyond was divided into four major continents. The first region lay to the southeast, followed by the eastern lands consisting of two independent countries in the east-north and east-south. To the north, there is an island inhabited by a small nation. And at the center of the map resided the largest continent, home to the major kingdoms of the Land's Beyond. Among them is the United Republic of Assayer, which held a prominent position as the second strongest nation among the six.

The name itself hinted at a constitutional republic that aimed to unite other kingdoms under a common banner, advocating principles such as equality, justice, and peace. However, it was evident that their primary concerns revolved around the threat posed by the demonic army and the unification of religion under the five maidens. Especially after centuries of their disappearance.

In the aftermath of the red war, the demonic army had risen yet to power, gradually taking control of the southern lands and reducing former kingdoms to fragmented villages and towns. Even in the absence of the Red Emperor, their prime leader, the demons continued to pose a menacing threat, drawing closer to the homelands. The unification of the Land's Beyond was driven by this looming danger, as well as the shared goal of eliminating any traces of the Perfect Church.

The Perfect Church had emerged over eight centuries ago, following the presumed fall of the Red Emperor. They established a clandestine order that aimed to oversee the Land's Beyond. The inspiration behind their formation stemmed from an event where a blinding light enveloped the lands, seemingly eradicating the demons and other parasites from the earth. This light was not attributed to the power of the maidens, as they were under the control of the Red Emperor. Instead, it was simply referred to as "The one god."

They did not bestow any specific name upon this power; it was regarded as an omnipotent and omniscient force that had brought down the Red Emperor and the maidens. The Perfect Church assumed this divine title without further elaboration or explanation.

Since then, the remaining nations lived under the constant threat of the Golden Empire of the Perfect Order, a fanatical crusader group that rejected the previous religious aspects of the old ages and enforced their own confiscated religion.

The Golden Empire of the Perfect Order was originally situated in the same location where the United Republic of Assayer stands today. The former central empire of the Kaldaria. The maiden Alya Kingdome which was already in devastation after the Maidens war. The Perfect church seized control over the Kingdome castles and lands after the red war had ended.

It was a deranged and corrupt movement that discriminated against anything that didn't align with their beliefs, including non-human races such as elves, orcs, and Lesser Titans. They were a force not to be reckoned with so easily.

For centuries, there had been ongoing conflicts between the human race and the elves. One particularly devastating event that shattered any possibility of negotiation between the two nations was the Night of Red.

On that fateful night, one-third of the Night Elves and half of the Wood Elves were ruthlessly persecuted, their homes and trees reduced to ashes. The dark moon's eclipse sealed the elven magic, particularly for the Night Elves, rendering them defenseless as large portions of their homeland were destroyed, and countless lives and resources were lost. This became known as the Elven Bloody Day, a genocide that fueled deep-seated hatred towards humanity. It was the greatest tragedy for the elves and the worst crime committed by humanity.

Fortunately, the fanatical crusaders of the Golden Empire of the Perfect Order did not maintain their grip on power for long. Over the past eight centuries, they suffered significant losses in both military units and regional control. The White Legion, known for their professional military units and strategic leaders, alongside advanced technological golems, played a crucial role in almost overthrowing the Perfect Order in the last decade.

In the final century of their rule, the last members of the Perfect Church were assassinated by none other than Assayer herself. During their sleep, she poisoned them and eliminated by hands the remaining angelic knights, by ensuring victory for herself rather than the White Legion. This achievement was made possible with the support of the Selica rebellion movement that had persisted for seven centuries.

----------------------------------------

Approximately a century ago, Saint Assayer emerged as a beacon of hope in the darkness, aiming to save the people of the Land's Beyond from the ever-growing threat of the Perfect Church. Discovered by the Saint Assyar, the Dawn of Sawle. Saint Assayer sought to unite the seven kingdoms under the guidance of the former five primal goddesses.;

The Byrine of Lígýþ, Isabelle, the goddess of fire.

The Mother of Nature, Tessia, also known as Gaia, the goddess of Earth.

The Mare of Nyss, Heather, the goddess of water.

The Lyft of Heavens, Izanami/Izanagi, the goddess of air.

And finally, Alya, the holy priestess of Kadmon.

These goddesses were believed to be messengers of the outer gods, whose names remain unknown to this day. They existed beyond the spectral realm of reality, known as the Upper Aeons or the Pleroma.

Assayer, nicknamed the Blestian Maiden for her resemblance to the aforementioned maidens, commanded the new church. With the assistance and guidance of the United Republic, she inspired a large portion of the people in the Land's Beyond towards unification and belief in the existence of the maidens. This belief was further strengthened by the magical gifts possessed by humanity and their continued advancements even in the absence of the maidens.

However, reviving the extinguished kingdoms and their former cultures, which were destroyed by demons or other nations, proved to be a difficult task. Despite the efforts, these kingdoms remained in ruins.

Unfortunately, the quest would face significant challenges, mainly because the maidens were no longer being reincarnated. During the previous war, before the rise of the Red Emperor, the maidens fought against each other. Taking advantage of this chaos, the demons, particularly the Red Emperor, seized the opportunity and killed the maidens using means that were not recorded. Their souls were trapped within the most powerful weapon in the universe. Red Emperor Gauntlet, believed to be called the hand of God, effectively ended their cycle of reincarnation.

Even after the war had ended, the powers of the maidens were never recovered. They were lost to the void, leaving the world without gods. Life had to rely on its own progress without the gifts of the goddesses.

Assayer held hope that she would find a solution to this dilemma. However, this noble quest would not be without challenges. Many nations, including the White Imperials, stood against the United Republic.

The current existence of the eleven kingdoms is as follows:

----------------------------------------

The first kingdom is the Lost Swamp, also known as the Fire Nation. It is located southwest of the United Republic, not far from the Night Elves and Wood Elves.

The Lost Swamp was once the great Kingdom of Flammae, ruled by Queen Mallaidh Kermodem, who was the second Flame Maiden during the Maiden's War. The kingdom was renowned for its fossil, oil, and iron production, which supplied not only itself but also the neighboring kingdoms. The abundance of these resources was hinted by the decaying bodies of ancient dragons that once ruled the lands millennia ago.

However, due to the looming threat of the demonic Red Army, the region fell into decline as it struggled to maintain what was left of its land. The castle, city, and surrounding villages and towns were almost destroyed. This was a result of the Earth Maiden, Selen of Ithil Songs, shattering the moon during the early days of the Red War. The homelands of the Elves and a portion of the Fire Nation were shattered by the celestial magic in an attempt to slow down the relentless advance of the Red Army.

In response, the people of the Fire Nation settled in the deepest grounds of their kingdom, which were once used for mining ores, extracting minerals, and smithing. They retreated into their little swamp, away from the surface of the Land's Beyond. They still maintained survival forts and holds for military purposes, which also served as a temporary defense against the advancing Night Elves. As a last resort, they set traps and explosives in the remaining buildings to eliminate as many elves as possible and created a giant chasm in the earth known as the Great Impact, orchestrated by the fire mage Rodrick. In honor of this event, the Fire Nation changed its name to Rodrick Swamp.

Despite suffering great losses, the kingdom managed to survive both the onslaught of the demons and the advances of the Elves. Their giant whirlwind hole swamp served as a formidable military topography, eliminating any threats that came their way.

They eventually joined the United Republic primarily for trading purposes, as their country was on the brink of famine. They also sought protection from the Elves with military support, especially from the Church. Over time, they fully devoted themselves to the cause and created a peaceful treaty between the two kingdoms, which was seen as a miracle.

The Church provided homes for the poor, although this was not a major concern for the Swamp since they were a highly contributing nation that valued and appreciated every member of their community. Their proficiency in fire magic served as a great weapon against the demons and further strengthened the power of the United Republic. This was one of the first successful achievements of the Assayer Church.

----------------------------------------

The second kingdom is the Gaints Fire Mountain, located south of the United Republic. It is a digitocracy nation that resides on the highest peaks of the Fallen Dragon Peaks, which serve as the burial place for the legendary dragon Biodheor, known as the World Eater.

Deep within the depths of the mountain's pinnacles, the enigmatic scales and bones of the ancient dragon have survived and serve as a supply for manufacturing the strongest weapons and gears. The Fire Mountain boasts a well-developed forgery, rumored to have been left behind by the ancient Titans who preexisted before humanity was founded. This forgery is regarded as unparalleled, and no kingdom has ever dared to challenge it.

The lesser Titans, also known as giants or forgers. Originally devoted to the Old Titan Gods that lived during the early ages of the cosmic war and a little after its end, they never resided in the Land's Beyond. They hail from a faraway land northeast of the White Legion Empire, known as Damocles, the Land of Honor.

In Damocles, powerful knights and warriors once ruled, their size and height surpassing that of humans by tenfold. They are truly enormous, standing over eight feet tall with muscles larger than even the demons. The kingdom was devoted to the Titans of the forge worlds. However, after the cosmic war and the war against the dragons, the number of Titan Gods decreased drastically, almost fading into obscurity. But the people of Damocles remained unchanged, placing their faith not entirely in gods but in their own hands. They became renowned as steel knights, donning ridiculously giant armor and wielding the most powerful weapons crafted from dragon scales.

Like many other kingdoms, Democles would endure after the Red War and the rise of the Red Emperor. The intelligent Red Emperor attacked the northern lands, leaving them in ruin and destroying the last king of Damocles, Uthane, with his own hands. The kingdom was thrown into ashes and faded from ancient records, seemingly forgotten.

Surprisingly, some inhabitants of Damocles managed to survive, though their numbers were greatly diminished. By the end of the war, only a few thousand remained in the world. Most of them escaped and went into hiding in the forbidden lands, particularly after the war ended and the revolution of the Perfect Church began. They remained in the shadows as if they never existed. Some believe that they joined forces with the Infinity Order to fight against the Red Army.

However, when the Assayer Grand Republic was announced, they emerged from their caverns and revealed themselves to the world. Although they did not believe in the maiden's religions, Assayer welcomed them and offered them the Fire Mountains as their new home. In return, there was a mutual benefit in forging weapons and armor, although the material was not as effective as their old forge due to the lack of resources and loss of spirit.

It is indeed a tragic tale for the people of Damocles, their once-proud kingdom reduced to ashes and their legacy overshadowed by the passage of time.

----------------------------------------

The third kingdom is the Eleven Empires, which later divided into multiple branches due to disagreements among the night elves, wood elves, snow elves, and the sudden disappearance of the golden elves.

Originally, elves were the dominant race in the early ages of Kaldaria, and the elven kingdom was a unified one, encompassing both elves and humans. The golden elves were a thriving species that stood alongside the Holy Maiden Alya, while the wooden elves and night elves stood behind Tessia, the Maiden of Earth. However, today, only the elves of the Earth Maiden remain, as the golden elves are believed to be extinct, and the snow elves have retreated beyond the cold mountains that separate the forbidden lands from Land's Beyond.

With the rise of the Perfect Church, war broke out between the two elven nations. The wooden elves and night elves initially fought together against the Perfect Order. However, when Assyar emerged and assembled a secret rebellion force within the church, the tide shifted. With the help of the wooden elves, they successfully destroyed any remnants of the former elven empire, reducing it to mere records of an old time.

In terms of diplomatic efforts, a peace treaty was established between the new order and the wooden elves, while the night elves, driven by hatred and vengeance, continued their path of revolt against the united republic. They launched a new war, seeking revenge and showing no mercy, as they had received none themselves.

The night elves' forest is located southeast of the united republic, close to the cold mountains, while the wooden elves' forest is not far from the night elves, separated by the broken isles. The wooden elves avoided involving themselves in another potential war by offering their small-scale military service to the republic, particularly in scouting and agriculture. They sought to ensure the survival of their race and protect themselves from further losses, unlike the night elves who persisted in their pursuit of vengeance.

There is a unique elven kingdom known as the Sanctum City or the golden elves (Goldhama). These higher elves were far ahead of other races and civilizations in their time. They were rumored to be the ancient golden elves of Kaldaria. After the Fire Maiden, Isabele, was killed by Alya, and Alya received a near-fatal blow in return, retreating to the Forbidden Lands for treatment at the foot of the Kabbalah, the remaining golden elves lost control of Kaldaria. They escaped underground and hid for many centuries until eventually ceasing to exist, never to be heard from again.

The golden elves were renowned for their advancements in various fields such as technology, engineering, crafting methods, magic, and academic arts. Their constructs, known as Animalcule or automatons, caused havoc on the battlefield, obliterating enemy forces. However, they have been extinct for hundreds of centuries, leaving behind their desolate underground cities.

Their extinction is believed to be self-inflicted, as they made greedy deals with the demons of Cāozòng. While this story is well-documented in history books as a lesson for humans to avoid dealings with demons and succumbing to greed, some scholars believe there is more to this tale. The origins of their golden architecture cities and automatons remain unknown, but one hypothesis suggests that the former mountains were once volcanoes that erupted from the ground, and the geological makeup played a significant role in the colonies of Goldhama as they excavated mountains to build new cities. Other believe, in return devil bargains. they gained immense knowledge in technology and science which helped them to grow a society far more advanced than others. A heavy price to pay.

Today, their desolate cities serve as mining facilities under multiple kingdoms, such as the new Golden Kingdome and the White Iegion, granting them immense resources and fuel extraction for the creation of gears and weapons, thereby prospering their respective kingdoms.

As for the snow elves, little is known about their background, as their last contact was before the Red War. They were known as an intelligent tribe that thrived on knowledge and community but varied in nature when it came to battle. The last sighting of them was beyond the cold mountains after the Water Maiden was assassinated by the Emissaries of Valaria, her own daughter's shadow assassins.

----------------------------------------

The fourth kingdom is Inexmine, the School of the Arcane and Sorceries, which operates as a university dedicated to studying dragon crystals and cosmic magic. However, their primary role is to defend against demonic threats. Or so it is rumored.

The Inexmine Academy's goal is to defeat the demons and further their knowledge through scientific research and seeking answers. They have committed their services to various surrounding nations, including the White Imperials, providing instruction in the arts and sorceries against demons. They also sell books about the histories, strengths, and weaknesses of demons, aiming to educate young adventurers and demon hunters from both nations and bring them closer to achieving the goal of demonic extermination.

Despite their contributions, Inexmine Academy is known for its cunning nature and has become one of the most disliked nations among the other kingdoms.

The ruling council consists of five grand mages, each representing a different house: alchemy, defense against dark arts, research and abstract, enterprise, and beaducræft. They oversee the academy and the magical town of Augurs, located southeast of the White Legion Empire on separate lands.

The origins of Inexmine Academy are mysterious, with some believing that it was formed by ancient magicians from the old world during the Maiden era. those are;

The male arch-mages, who were once naval combatants of each Maiden army, and the female witches, the Maiden's hands and closest lieutenants.

After the Maiden War, some magicians remained in the wilderness while others stayed in their kingdoms, attempting to restore what was left. However, when the Red War began, they found themselves powerless without the Maidens by their side.

Nevertheless, they played a role in repelling the Red Army by joining forces with the Infinity Order and later the White Legion against the Perfect Church. Eventually, the Inexmine Academy was established with the assistance of allied nations such as the Earth Kingdom and the White Legion.

This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.

Unlike other nations, Inexmine Magical Academy operates on a democratic system that is not yet part of the united republic. However, their relationship with the republic is mutually beneficial, with both parties gaining something from the arrangement. This partnership is also evident with the High lord Academy of Magic and Sword Masteries.

----------------------------------------

The fifth kingdom is the new Golden Kingdome, known as "المدينةالذهبية" in Arabic, located far southeast of the United Republic. It is a large circular walled city situated in the middle of an empty and vast desert, surrounded by hills of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock formations. The kingdom encompasses one-third of the Sahara Desert.

The Golden City is heavily influenced by Arabic culture, both in its architecture and way of life. Its origins are unclear, but it is believed to be a mixture of descendants from the Fire Nation and humans who were once enslaved by the Golden Elves in the early days. As well as the water tribe. By sheer luck, they managed to avoid the Red Emperor's conquest and discovered the ruins of Goldhama, which provided them with some protection. The Lesser Titans assisted in the construction of high walls surrounding the city.

As an absolute monarchy under a despotism system, the Golden City is one of the most populous nations in all of Lands Beyond. It is also the second richest country, as the city is built above one of the resourceful Elven Sanctum cities called Ruins-o i laurië citime. The presence of golem metal guardians infused with elemental or singular dragon crystalline magic adds to the city's defenses.

However, despite having enterprising mines and advanced technology, the country is in dire straits. The lack of arable land due to the vast expanse of sand has hindered cultivation, leading to a constant shortage of food and water. Thousands of people die from famine each decade. The White Legion has provided some relief by selling food, but poverty and injustice continue to plague the nation.

The people of the Golden City are heavily controlled by the monarch houses, which exercise significant influence over the country's ministers. There are issues of low-income allowances, high taxes, and inequality between the upper and lower classes. This oppressive injustice has sparked rebellion movements within the city, but most have failed. Consequently, many people have decided to leave the country, aligning themselves with the United Republic in the hopes of creating a peace treaty.

However, the journey to the Western Kingdom is perilous, especially through the Eastern Barren, where sand creatures and monsters such as clay demons, mutated sand scorpions, worms, and orcs roam. The orcs, once a separate nation, have become a divided tribe scattered across the lands beyond, particularly in the Eastern Barren.

Reaching the Golden City alone is considered a suicide mission, with little chance of survival. The church has yet to establish a peace treaty with the Earth Nation, and the Golden Kingdom itself seems uninterested in pursuing one. They are willing to wait until the end of the war to align themselves with the eventual victor, caring little for honor, religion, rights, justice, or morality. As long as money continues to flow and as long as there is a country willing to buy from them, they remain content, prioritizing their own interests over the lives of others.

----------------------------------------

The sixth kingdom is the people of the Air Maiden, residing in the northern islands of Kaze kara Nigeru. They have a democratic system, governed by intelligent figures representing different houses and the people's collective will. This kingdom draws inspiration from Japan in another world, with armies of samurai warriors renowned for their mastery in swordsmanship. The religious figures at the summit of Buddha temples follow a theocratic order, isolating themselves from outside influences.

Unlike the selfish and money-driven Golden Kingdom, the people of Kaze Kara Nigeru are known for their honor and respectability. However, they also have a fervent lust for war on the battlefield, engaging in numerous conflicts with other races, often resulting in failures or shameful retreats. The generals of the emperor are celebrated for their strategic intelligence, inspiring future generations and leaving behind legacies chronicled in old texts.

The people of Kaze Kara Nigeru originated from distant lands east and beyond the seas, close to the Kingdom of Damocles. However, after their last Maiden was killed by the Red Emperor and their lands were destroyed, the remaining members of the Maiden's ancestral bloodline led their people to the Hikari Isles, seeking the survival of whats left of their clans. alongside the support of the Monks of Hikrai mountains.

Even on these isles, their lands are well-cultivated compared to other regions, and they have well-developed mining operations due to the remnants of a Sanctum city beneath the area. This allows them to forge powerful weapons, although they are less advanced compared to the White Legion. The people of Kaze kara nigeru were known for their dynasties that made significant discoveries, such as the compass, printing, papermaking, and gunpowder. They embarked on extensive naval expeditions, even defeating the navy forces of the White Legion in the early days.

However, as the White Imperials reached the peak of their industrial revolution, the people of Kaze kara nigeru began to feel threatened and terrified of their current state. They recognized the risk of another war and decided to adopt a defensive role to protect their lands and focus on innovating their inventions until they could recover from their deteriorating situation.

Although there are reasons for the people of Kaze kara Nigeria to join the new church, creating a treaty between the two nations proves challenging. First, their geographical isolation makes communication with other nations difficult, except for the Golden Kingdom. Second, while they respect the idea of the Assayer Church and uphold the title of the Maiden of Wind as one of the true goddesses, their culture is diverse, with prayers offered to multiple deities such as the Buddhist and the Court of Heaven. This contradicts the tradition of the church and leads to theological disagreements.

Lastly, the most troubling reason for the Assayer Church is that the people of the Eastern nation have considered creating a peace treaty with the White Imperials, primarily for their own benefit and to ensure the continuity of their culture, even if they were to win the war. Surprisingly, the White Legion agrees to this, going against their original goals. However, it is suspected that alternative motives may be at play, with both parties engaged in a cunning game, manipulating each other. As a result, the people of Kaze kara nigeru remain neutral and engage in trading with the White Imperials, forfeiting any chance of securing a peace treaty with the Eastern lands and further hindering their lack of technological power.

----------------------------------------

The final well-known kingdom is the White Legion of Wallingston, located in the snowy lands far north of the united republic. It was once a dictatorship but transitioned into a constitutional monarchy after the end of the Red War, under the rule of San Galeria mac Diarmata, known as "the Cold in the Vales of Chaos."

The White Legion is renowned for its vigorous and prosperous nation, symbolized by its pristine white walls and strong economic status. Despite the challenging agricultural conditions, they have managed to thrive through well-developed trade and economic activities. The people of the White Legion are obsessed with the pursuit of perfection, reflected in their mastery of ice magic and excellence in classical orchestra.

However, the Alba, as they are known, harbor a deep resentment towards religion and seek to exploit others for their own benefit. They assert dominance and exhibit racial discrimination, considering their race to be superior. Their antagonism extends to humanity at large, especially the united republic, as they aim to dismantle the religious system upheld by the Assayer Church.

The White Legion originated as a small rebellious group opposing the theological system of the Perfect Order. They went beyond mere opposition, rejecting the four goddesses and viewing spiritual beliefs as senseless ideologies that divert society from the path of enlightenment through science, advancement, and evolution. This sparked deep-seated animosity between the White Legion and other nations, particularly the Assayer Church and the Eastern lands, both of which have strong sectarian cultures.

Reasons abound for nations to resist submitting to the White Legion. However, the sheer power and resources they possess make it challenging to challenge them. They have a large-scale mining industry, rivaling even the monumental forges of the dwarves. They have taken advantage of the ruins of Goldhama Elven sanctum cities and ancient dragon burial sites, extracted valuable resources, and infused elemental magical crystals into their inventions and weapons.

Over time, the bodies of ancient dragons have become monuments and sources of resources for various civilizations. These crystals are believed to contain remnants of the dragons' souls and possess immense power. With the aid of Goldhama mechanical machines and the crystals, the White Legion has gained elemental powers such as fire, ice, lightning, earth, and wind. They have surpassed even the golden elves, becoming an unstoppable force that instills fear in the surrounding nations.

Some argue that the demonic threat is the most dangerous enemy, while others believe the White Legion to be worse, likening them to demons hiding beneath human skin. The Assayer Church has not engaged recently in any war negotiations with the White Legion, especially due to the ruthlessness of the thirteen Elite Heralds, the leader branches of the White Legion, known for their diplomatic cunning and viciousness.

Other nations, like the Golden Kingdom, have sold themselves out to the White Legion, exchanging dragon crystals and mechanical devices for their golems. The Earth Kingdom, in turn, trades Goldhama ores, devices, fruits, and vegetables from the northern lands. Unfortunately, they also sell slaves and impoverished citizens to the White Legion, exacerbating issues of rebellion and cruelty.

The people of Kaze kara Nigeru and the White Legion have engaged in conflict, but a temporary peace has been established between them until either the united Republic or the White Legion is dealt with. It is widely suspected that both factions are planning a backstabbing move, as part of a secret plan, and the peace remains fragile, resembling a game of chess where the first move could lead to conflict.

Other nations harbor great resentment towards the White Legion for their disregard of religion and imposition of their culture on others. They have joined the united republic to eliminate these nonbelieving dictators. After the destruction of the Perfect Church, the Assayer Church did not hesitate to pursue a peace treaty and engage in war against the White Legion, nearly resulting in their defeat.

However, both parties had to call off the war due to the emergence of a new threat: the Hollowed Ones.

----------------------------------------

Other forgotten nations who are now counted as lost or worth the mention such as;

The water tribe, once known as the Runic Tribe, inhabited the northern seas and primarily resided north of the Kaze kara Nigeru islands. Unfortunately, they suffered greatly compared to other nations.

Firstly, they were the first to lose their Maiden. at the hands of her own daughter, Valaria. Valaria's followers, known as the Emissaries or followers of Valaria, formed the Order of Atrum, which played a significant role in their downfall. Unable to withstand the onslaught of the Red Army, they were swiftly defeated.

A popular theory suggests that the Order was divided into two factions. The first faction would later become the White Legion, embodying their cold wrath. The second faction comprised the snow elves who escaped to the western mountains.

Today, the remnants of the water tribe consist of scattered followers who have integrated themselves into the united republic. They can be found residing in the capital city or in scattered villages across the land. Much of their culture has been lost, and only a few royal houses remain, working in specific branches of the republic's ministry. Their main objective is to preserve the last remaining bloodlines of their former tribe.

The Orcs are a diverse alliance of races, including orcs, forsaken, tauren, trolls, blood elves, and goblins. These races, often misunderstood and cast aside, strive to overcome their differences and unite as one. Their goal is to secure freedom for their people and thrive in a land that has grown to despise them.

Within the tribe, action, and strength hold greater value than diplomacy, and leaders earn respect through their prowess with the blade. The champions of the Horde embody brutality and give voice to those who fight for survival.

In the past, these races were considered demonic, originating from the demons of war, one of the four housemen gods of the demon realm. They served the Red Army, particularly as part of the Fist of the Iron Legion, the main forces of the Red Emperor and the Children of the Red Emperor. However, it is believed by some, including myself, that without their aid, we would have been defeated by the Red Emperor long ago.

During the final years of the Red War, the Iron Legion, led by Warchief Godrick, betrayed the Red Emperor and his heralds. Motivated by their people's history of slavery and oppression under the Red Empire, they joined forces with the Infinity Order and turned the tide of the war in favor of the Earth realm. Together, they marched back to the demon realm to eliminate the Red Emperor once and for all.

Unfortunately, their efforts were met with shame and disgust by the humans. Humans continued to view them as devils responsible for the loss of countless lives, including blaming them for the loss of maidens. Only the Infinity Order and the orcs themselves truly knew what transpired in the demon realm.

While the Iron Legion was ready to engage in further conflict, some orcs chose a different path, seeking a more peaceful existence and hoping for unification. They formed Ragnar's Horde, residing in the south, near the border between the lands of the United Republic and the harsh desert.

For centuries, they attempted to seek peace with humans but continually failed. The Perfect Church labeled them as heretics, leading to the execution of many of their people, including women and children. This only fueled the flames of hatred within the orcs, pushing them back toward their old ways, the ways of the Iron Legion, where killing and hunting became their means of survival and prevented any possibility of a peaceful treaty.

It is suggested that they should simply rejoin the Iron Legion, but it is not so easy to abandon their newfound life and embrace their demonic origins. They left the demon realm specifically to escape those ways and embrace a new life.

The Nordic clan, residing in the western mountains, also suffered tremendous losses at the hands of the hollowed ones. A massive swirling abyss known as the Swirling of the Abyss emerged in the ocean near the night elf's home world.

The exact cause of this phenomenon is not fully understood, but it is believed to be related to climate changes and the disruption of nature and order in the world following the death and disappearance of the Maidens, as well as the industrial revolution and conflicts against the night elves.

The scholars of the Inexmine academy theorize that the swirling abyss created a crack in the ocean, serving as an opening to the demon realm from which the hollowed ones emerged.

They first attacked the Nordic region, the cold mountains, leading to a massive massacre that nearly wiped out one-third of the Nordic population, leaving behind remnants of an ancient civilization. The survivors of the clan joined the united republic for the same cause, but their relationship was not peaceful due to past clashes with the new church. They were offered mercy but were often treated as slaves, working in mining and serving as soldiers and guards within the republic. They faced discrimination and were considered a lower-class culture within the walls.

The existence of other swirling abysses near the white legion and the golden kingdom suggests that the threat of the hollowed ones is gradually emerging.

Another kingdom that was lost eons ago and is presumed to be the seed of chaos-encroaching is the hollowed kingdom. As the name implies, it is a land overrun by the hollowed ones, a race characterized by death, chaos, fear, pestilence, and disease. They pose a threat far worse than any faced by the current nations, and they appear to be something from another world.

The origin of the hollowed kingdom remains unknown, but it is rumored to have existed before the conflict between the Assayer church and the white imperials. It was called the Holy Lands of Benedicite, a branch of the Holy Empire devoted to the Holy Maiden who survived longer and remained untouched by the Red Emperor. The kingdom was ruled by an aristocratic monarchy that aimed to restore the Maiden's control over the continent but ultimately failed unknowingly.

Little to no records about the former empire exist, as most were hidden away in the library of the Inexmine academy to prevent association with the dangerous history of the kingdom. Some theories suggest that the hollowed kingdom is now controlled by an outer god being that predates the existence of dragons, and the Holy Kingdom's attempt to control this power ended in failure.

The hollowed kingdom is considered the most perilous region in the Lands Beyond, as no one who has traveled there has returned alive. The consuming fog that envelops the land brings decay, stagnation, and eternal darkness, with rains and snow further contributing to the demise of the land. The hollowed kingdom is situated far northwest, and for now, the hollowed ones have not invaded any other region. However, they appear to be present in Drossel, and it remains uncertain how long they will remain there. The fact that you and your mother live near the kingdom entrance raises concerns about their potential proximity and threat.

Most of the hollowed ones nest alongside the mountains, while many have departed to their home, the hollowed kingdom, turning it into their hive world.

Even as a grown man trapped in a child's body, I shouldn't be burdened with such historical information at such a tender age. However, I couldn't resist being captivated by delving into the background of this world, as I have always been fond of historical fiction novels and tales. But now that I am here, alive and witnessing the narrative unfold before my own eyes, I can't help but feel restless about this entire tapestry of history.

The world I used to inhabit was much more peaceful compared to this living hell. Here, everything and everyone are consumed by the theme of war. Whether they desire it or not, it is an inevitable occurrence.

In such a world, war is not merely a hobby or tradition but an integral part of the world order.

Perhaps it has always been this way, and we simply never knew the whole truth.

Each nation pursues its own goals, whatever they may be. However, I have noticed one common thread among them all - the relentless struggle for survival. No matter how vigorously they farm, plant, raise, build, fight, and kill, it all feels like a futile attempt to combat the inherent evil nature.

But the same can be said for the other side; they too fight for their own existence. The Iron Legion serves as a glaring example of this.

(Huh... it's like an eternal cycle - life and death, hope and despair. An endless repetition of the same events.)

The more I contemplate this, the more I become convinced of what occurred to me in the old world. Life is a reincarnation of death, much like the species and kingdoms that have risen and fallen countless times on this planet. Life emerges, bringing forth new hope until it is ultimately extinguished by death itself. And then, the cycle continues.

This is the true horror of existence, and the worst part is that we remain unaware of it. It's as if we have been intentionally fed lies, either out of pity or as a cruel jest.

The so-called end of the world, Judgment Day, or whatever name it may be called, is yet another falsehood, leading to an even more dreadful conclusion.

Part of me believes that it is a mercy that we have been deceived with such lies, at least for the sake of the countless people in either world.

But why, out of all the people, was I chosen to remember it all? That is the only question for which I seek an answer.

Was it a spell? Some kind of curse or gift?

I truly cannot tell... I don't even know how I am managing to endure all of this.

"Ahhh! The seeker child has returned. Welcome!" the merchant said excitedly.

In our village, we don't have a proper library for educating ourselves. We do have a basic schoolhouse that provides education for children. However, for a more comprehensive education, one would have to go to the United Republic.

Therefore, this merchant, more accurately described as a librarian, would come to our village to sell books, most likely from the Inexmine Academy judging by the authors' names.

"So, what would you like this time? More history? Magic?"

The merchant, wearing a red mage coat with a hoodie, recognized me in less than a second the moment I became visible. He had basically memorized my face from the books, though his name remained anonymous to me.

Many villagers despised him due to his suspicious appearance and the high prices of his books. They weren't exorbitant, but they were not affordable for everyone. Consequently, hardly anyone came to buy from him, except for me.

I assumed there were other reasons why the villagers disliked a scholar like him, but I decided to inquire further into the matter.

His collection was diverse, ranging from history and magic to alchemy, psychology, and philosophy. But until now, the magic of this world had intrigued me the most.

It was still hard to believe that such magical systems and nature existed every day. After all, I come from a world where magic was nothing more than a fabricated business for entertainers to gain coinage. However, it didn't last long.

Perhaps studying magic would provide some answers... I could only hope.

"Can you recommend anything on magic theory and explanations?" I asked the merchant.

"Oh my!" he exclaimed with excitement. "First history, and now magic? You are growing so fast, child."

After finishing his chuckle, he began searching through his wares for my request.

Another downside I faced was the need to pretend to be as much of a child as possible. I could easily reveal my former adult self, but not here, at least not out of obligation. Rather, I didn't want to revert to that androgynous body and mind that I despised wholeheartedly.

I had to maintain the facade of a child, even though the villagers noticed my peculiar presence and character. I was known as the "dark child" because I rarely smiled or engaged in conversation with anyone except a few people, especially my mother.

Over time, I grew accustomed to it because, in my past life, I faced similar situations. However, it started to take a toll on me mentally. It wasn't the children and adults calling me a cursed child that bothered me; I was indeed cursed. It was as if they intentionally rubbed in the fact that I had endured hell to get here—a curse I never asked for or burdened anyone with.

Therefore, like in my past life, I confined myself to the house, away from the anxious voices of the villagers.

The only time I would leave was when I accompanied my mom on errands. I felt safe around her, although the gazes of others continued to follow me.

"There you go, little seeker. This is a good start," the merchant said, handing me a book called "The Science of Mana." "Before you delve into magic, one should understand the essence of mana, its meaning, how it came into existence, and how we can harness it. This book will provide you with the most desirable answers," he explained earnestly.

"I see," I replied quietly.

I was yet to be in a position to buy the book unless I had the authority to do so. Speaking of which...

"Makas! There you are!" my mom returned from her errand, appearing less worried.

"Forgive me, Miss Freia. I am the one to blame. Our young enthusiast wanted another book from my collection," the merchant spoke politely.

"Oh, trust me, I know you two have been hitting it off like obsessed scholars," my mother said sarcastically. "I just hope you aren't putting any dangerous ideas in my son's head."

"My, my, Miss Freia, I would never!" the merchant chuckled lightly and smiled. "The child is simply interested in exploring this world, like any other curious person. I assure you, everything I am selling him is good and harmless material."

"Hmmm... I will take your word for it," my mother replied, sounding slightly persuaded.

"Do you want this one, Makas?" my mother knelt down, smiling as she patted my back.

I simply nodded in affirmation.

"Alright then!" she stood up and approached the merchant. "How much does it cost?"

Unlike the other villagers, my mother didn't grow suspicious of me. In fact, she supported me wholeheartedly.

I'm not sure if that's what she truly wanted or if she was simply blinded by her love for her child. Nevertheless, I was grateful that she accepted me as I was. Her acceptance provided me with a sense of comfort and helped calm my mind.

I can't say that she was completely unaware of my situation. There were times when she expressed worry and skepticism about my discoveries. However, as she got to know me better, those concerns diminished.

I must admit that there were moments when I had to act to divert the watchful eyes. Not entirely, but I used every method at my disposal to push away my dark thoughts and bury them deep within the recesses of my mind.

However, those efforts barely helped.

Spending time with my mother, on the other hand, did bring solace.

She always wore a confident smile and looked towards a brighter future.

I wished I could be like her - to possess that smile, that sense of moving forward without dwelling on the past.

I wished... I was someone else... someone who wouldn't remember the past world and could live like anyone else.

Is it better to live in ignorance? Or to seek out the truth and live with it?

I can't tell... and I don't think I ever will.

What's worse than all of this is using my mother as a source of comfort. Instead of being a normal child, I am this cursed being trapped in a cursed vessel. She gave birth to this cursed abomination instead of her real son, who would have cherished and loved her in return.

What could that child have been? A knight like his father before? A mage? A merchant?

I don't know, and I never will.

"Come on, Makas! We still have unfinished errands to run," my mother called me, still wearing that sweet, motherly smile.

I couldn't say anything but stare at her with those haunted eyes and simply nodded. I am a horrible being for burdening her with such a curse.

I waved goodbye to the merchant as he said, "May your path toward enlightenment be a worthy one, young seeker."

I simply nodded and didn't bother to respond.

(Oh I am enlightened already enough old man. it is a blessing that you all live in ignorance and live your life while you can)

----------------------------------------

My mother held my right hand as we walked through the market.

"Having fun with those books, Makas?"

"...Yeah..." I hesitantly answered, caught off guard by her sudden questioning.

"That's good," she smiled.

After we finished navigating through the shops and began heading home, she said;

"You know, Makas. You always surprise me with the books you read. At first, I was taken aback."

Her new line of questioning bewildered me, so I simply listened as she spoke.

"But over time, I got used to it and accepted it. In fact, I may have bragged a bit to the villagers about how smart my kid is," she chuckled.

That could lead to rumors, but not necessarily in a positive way.

"Don't get any bad ideas, Makas. I'm not doing it just for fun, of course!" She laughed lightly while smiling. "It's just... there are many special individuals in this world. Knights, mages, even political figures... well, most of them are a bit crazy."

She wasn't entirely wrong about that.

"But I guess you're special too, Makas." Her expression shifted to one of emotional sincerity as if confessing something she had kept in her mind for a while.

"Some may say that a bright mind like yours is a curse, but I consider it a miracle from whoever granted you such intelligence."

I listened to her words until the end.

"With the knowledge you acquire, you can achieve great things. Whether it's in magic, wielding a sword, or even being a clever salesman. Just don't be as greedy as some people here in the village!" She leaned closer to my head and whispered with a playful shushing gesture.

"My point is, Makas, you can be anything you want. Use your intelligence to do good in this world and for yourself. Okay?" she asked eagerly.

"Sure, Mom," I replied quietly, feeling a hint of excitement.

"That's my good boy!" She ruffled my hair. "Now let's go home, prepare a meal for the day, and then you can dive into your book."

I nodded as we walked back home.

But... were her words true?

Was I truly that special child she mentioned, destined to be saved from the old ones? Meant to prevent this whole ordeal from happening again?

Or am I just an unfortunate, cursed being trapped in a rigged game? A being who happened to remember past nightmares, burdened with this unfortunate existence.

What am I?

Who am I?

Why am I here? Why was I reborn when I desired nothing more than to die?

I don't know.

And I never will.

If only... if only... someone or something... could free me from this hell...
