Warning: Extreme Cringe detected; proceed with caution.
(I wrote this for practice; I realized that a purely fast-paced story would kind of fall by the wayside after a few or so chapters, so I decided it needed to have an actual story to it. If you have any tips, please comment them; also, you can be as mean as you want; I completely understand; that's why I wrote the warning as a heads up.)
Peak Life POV
"That was amazing," she said in tired breaths.
I nodded tiredly in response. I did not expect her to have so much 'energy' in this. "This was supposed to be just for research, you know? A quick 20-minute session, as said in the book, you know?"
"Hehe, sorry I got carried away; I did not expect breeding between people to be so good," she said, covering her eyes with her forearm and letting her breast lay bare.
I averted my gaze from the pieces of jelly before saying So, uh, I want to tell you something," I said nervously, my heart beating faster than it had when we started breeding awhile ago. What is this feeling? Did I not just achieve the greatest reward a man could ever achieve? Breeding with a woman with an oh-so-generous body?
I Steel my heart and prepare to say it to her when I see that she has moved her arm so that one of her silver eyes can stare into mine.
"Go on," she said, raising an eyebrow. I open my mouth, but no sound comes out. I was far too entranced by the beautiful glint in her eyes. If I am to describe it. It was as if the shine and glow of the everyday light were nothing but pale compared to hers, and their only existence was to elevate its shine and silver luster.
"Hey PL-1? Are you good? You've been staring way too much; is there something on me other than your juices?" She chuckled softly, and I too did, not because I found it funny but because it would be nothing but shameful if it were not.
"I uh...." Our heads turn to the clock hanging on the wall. I hear a sigh from beside me and see that Lefia, yes, the Lefia first spawn, has begun changing.
"It's getting late; I'll see you tomorrow at the lab to check up on yesterday's experiments, yes?" She asked with a raised brow and soft smile.
"Yes, First spawn Lefia, I will," I say while internally scolding myself. Why did I think I could be with her? She is a first spawn, and I'm just an ordinary Life user with no name or achievement behind me. Although I am at peak life, it just feels as if I am trying to take her rightful place. I feel like I am trying to challenge her rule over life. I do not want to feel better or stronger than her; I just want to be WITH her.
My brooding was interrupted when I felt Lefia's soft lips place a kiss on my forehead. I look towards her and see that she is giving me a sweet and adorable smile. "Don't beat yourself up; it was good. You don't have to worry about anything."
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
I felt heat rise to my cheeks as I watched her walk towards the door, her hips swaying from side to side all the while. Maybe if I do say what I feel, maybe she would consider it, I pondered, but reality struck me when she looked back and said
Besides, it was just an experiment." My heart dropped harder than an Earth user on a walk. Of course, how could I forget? It was just an experiment—a dumb experiment, I suggested.
"See you tomorrow, PL-1! I hope the creator gives you a name soon!" She said with a wave before dissappearing from view.
I should have just said it; however, I can always do it tomorrow. Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow. I have time; I can prepare now and do it when I'm ready.
I will have her heart. She is mine, and mine alone.

Ah, hello, PL-1, how are you today?" A female researcher said to me as I passed by. I tell her I'm doing quite fine before moving on; I must be as sociable and approachable as possible to the others; I am not a Peak for nothing.
I once again passed by another researcher, and the situation was just the same as the last, only this time she was far more talkative and touchy. I kindly tell her that I am quite busy and hurry away.
The same thing happens again and again for the rest of the morning until lunch. I almost dropped a vial of acid because one of my fellow researchers accidentally bumped into someone who wasn't paying attention to her own surroundings.
Even during lunch, they swarm me, pulling my arms and shoving each other to get closer to me. Good thing the room I had ordered for me and me alone, and maybe Lefia, has just finished building. I had gotten the message from a wind user who was temporarily hired as a messenger until the creator completed another one of his miraculous inventions. Truly, he is a mighty being; he himself pulled me from the void and gave me the breath of life. Although I am quite saddened that I am not one of the first ones he created, I also understand his reasoning. Lefia is truly deserving of her place as the first spawn of the Life users. It would be nothing but blasphemy for him to give the first spawn's place to anyone other than the silver jewel of life that is Lefia.
I shake my head and pull myself out of those thoughts. I still have to finish up with today's experiment before me and Lefia meet up to compare notes.
I truly cannot wait.

Okay, now add a gram of A-67 to the mixture." I instructed my assistant, who nodded and poured the exact amount of the acidic liquid into the mixture we had made.
The mixture bubbled and boiled as it shook the glass beaker containing it violently. The assistant who had poured in the mixture quickly rushed away as I calmly activated the aegis shields, a type of transparent energy field Lefia had made with the collaboration of the arcane first spawn, Gea Arcana.
We prepared for an explosion to happen like all the experiments involving A-67 had, but it did not happen; this time there was only a quiet puff before the bubbles ceased.
I see some of my other assistants sigh and return to their earlier posts. I stop them and tell them to stay behind cover. Although the aegis shield is strong, we have to come to realize that A-67 and all of the other similar acids to it were able to melt through the shields and somehow stop the flow of energy, be it magical or electrical. I have even made a theory on how it would react to our own flesh and blood, but I do not see it going well.
I would advise a heavily armored earth user to approach the beaker with caution, check for anything, and make sure it is truly safe. After a moment, I see the earthshaker I had appropriated from the army To help with my experiments and approach the beaker.
He stood just a dozen inches away from the table that had the beaker sitting on top of it. He gently pokes the mixture and finds that nothing is happening. Next, he proceeds to shake it a little, but still nothing. Finally, he proceeds to whack the table to quake the beaker violently, but still nothing. He stops for a moment before looking towards me and giving me a thumbs up.
I sigh and return the gesture. Although it was a crude way of seeing if the mixture would have a violent reaction, it was the best he could think of, although it was more akin to how a gale, a weird humanoid cat-like creature, would check to see if something was dangerous or not.
They are quite funny creatures; maybe Lefia would like one as a pet. But aren't they intelligent, and isn't it kind of wrong? No, they are not; well, I mean they are, but just because they're intelligent doesn't mean they should be treated like anyone else; in fact, they'd just be really smart pets. They are not something the creator has made, so he would most likely understand if we were to ever take them in as pets, right?
Bah, enough pondering; I mustn't be late for Lefia. I do hope she finds my perfume quite nicely and gives me all of her attention. I really want that to happen, as much as I want her, and I'll do anything to make her mine and mine alone.
