Extra – Bath talks
----------------------------------------
I was walking next to Lucilla, who was holding a candle, in the hallways of the palace, after the party. We finally reached my room and she turned to look at me.
“Here we are, is there anything you need?”
“Actually, I would like to take a bath before going to sleep.”
“Yes, I will go and make it prepared. Anything else?”
“I would also like something to drink while bathing too, if it isn’t a problem.”
“It is no problem at all, is a digestif bitter good?”
“Perfect.”
“Very well. I will call you as soon as everything ready”
“Thank you” Saying so I entered my room while Lucilla walked away down the hallway.
After about half an hour she came and guided me to the bathroom. When I entered what I saw was a bath big enough for thirty or more people to bathe in it.
(This shit is a pool! I don’t really want to have a bath in there by myself.)
“Lucilla, would you like to enter with me?”
“I’m sorry but it wouldn’t be appropriate for a maid to bathe in the royal bath.”
(Mhh…I need a reason to make her stay. Oh right!)
“It’s just that having arrived only today I still know nothing about this world, so I was thinking of asking you a few things and drinking is more fun in company.”
“I’m sorry but it can’t be done.”
“Come on, I can’t live in a world I don’t know anything about and if you explain about it to me now I won’t have to waste Lord Gabriel and Lady Raphael’s time, and besides you aren’t just ‘a maid’, am I right? Who are you? The head maid or maybe the daughter of some noble? I’m also curious about that.”
“Fine, but only tonight. And by the way, I am a commoner, not the daughter of some noble.”
“Fine, fine. Is it okay to put the used clothes there?” I said while pointing to a shelf next to one with clean night clothes on it.
“Yes, please.”
I went to the shelf and started undressing, Lucilla went to the other side of the room and I could hear her taking off her clothes while I was fighting with my complicated dress.
“Do you need help?”
“No, no. I can do this.”
After a couple of minutes of struggling I was able to take off my clothes and I turned, there I saw Lucilla, who was completely naked, her brown hair which she kept tied up all day were now falling on her back and her breasts, her body slim but healthy and beautiful, staring at me with her brown eyes.
(That plain dress really doesn’t bring justice to this girl.)
“Beautiful” She murmured, still looking at me.
I walked up to her and, before she could react I placed my hand on her back, brought her close to me and gave her a passionate kiss.
“So are you, dear.” I said her after I kissed her.
She stared at me completely shocked.
“Pff..pff…ahahaha.” I burst into laughter.
“You should see your face!”
“Please. Don’t. Do. It. Ever. Again.” She said with a very serious face.
“Come on it was a joke, I swear.”

“Fine, lets enter the bath before I regret this.”
I entered the bath, soon followed by Lucilla after she placed a bottle and two small cups on a wooden board to let them float on the water.
We sat next to each other in the bath with the wooden board between us.
“So, what would you like to know?” Asked me Lucilla as she was pouring a bit of bitter in the cups.
“I don’t really know where to start from. How long is a year? How many countries are there? How big are they? Are there other races other than humans and demons? What are they like? I could ask tons of questions.”
She passed me my cup.
“Well, first of all a year is made of three hundred and sixty days, divided in four season, each season being characterized by which of the two moons appears in the sky: the first season is Sel, the season of the biggest moon, also called Sel; the second is Dis, the season in which both moons are up in the sky and also the hottest; the third season is Nen, the season of the smaller moon which has the same name as the season; finally is Nott, the season with no moon, which has the darkest nights and is also the coldest. Every season is then divided in three months and each month is made of five weeks of six days. Next is…sincerely I don’t know how to continue as those are all things that are considered common knowledge so it’s quite difficult to choose.”
“Then I think the thing that is bugging me the most is that Queen Zillya told me no one ever had my appearance except from Leliah but why is it so? If she was a demon shouldn’t other demons also have a similar appearance to hers?”
Lucilla took a sip of liquor and started talking.
“Actually only us humans call her archdemon, other races usually call her simply ‘the destroyer’. No one really knows what her race was, nor where she came from.”
“Wait, how can it be that nobody knows?”
“You see, in this world only humans and dwarves can have bronzed skin, only the ice-wolf and rabbit beastmen have white hair while black eyes are a characteristic of demons and green eyes of elves, but only lizardmen and the sea people have been seen with eyes of different colors.”
“Couldn’t she be a very rare hybrid of all these races?”
“No, that’s impossible.”
“Why?”
“Because, except for half lizardmen-half sea person or hybrids of different beastmen tribes, ‘halfs’ can’t have children, so someone with all these particular traits can’t be born.”
“Oh, I see…there certainly are a lot of races in this world though.”
We both had finished the liquor in our cups and Lucilla refilled them before starting speaking again.
“Why? How many races are there in your world?”
“Only one, humans.”
“Whaaat!?” Lucilla jumped up screaming while I caught the wooden board with the bottle on top, then she leaned over me as water was dripping from her hair and breasts.
She soon realized her gesture and immediately sat back where she was before, her cheeks red from embarrassment.
“I’m sorry for my behavior.”
“Don’t worry; the liquor didn’t spill so it’s alright.” I said, putting the board back on the water.
“A whole world only for humans…it would really be a dream come true.” She said with a dreamy look in her eyes.
“Do you really think so?”
“Yes, why?”
“How many countries are there in this world?”
“Ten, if you don’t count Academy City.”
“In my world there were almost two hundred countries, many were born after thousands of years of war, others were luckier but there is no country that never saw war.”
“But…how can it be?”
“Sincerely I don’t know how there can be only ten countries in this world, don’t they wage war to each other? Don’t rebellions and civil wars happen in these countries?”
“Well…apart from the Holy Olivedias Kingdom and the Demon Country all other nations are at relative peace, the last war that didn’t involve demons happened four hundred years ago between the Gredum Empire and the Holy Kingdom.”
“Wait, wait. First explain which are these countries and where they are or I can’t follow you.”
“Ah! Right! Then I’ll explain it to you.”
She filled the cups that went empty again and put on a serious expression.
“Well then, there are only two known continents, Kilis, which is where we are now, and Hicracones, also known as ‘the land of monsters’, where no one but monsters that are much stronger than those that live in Kilis lives. Kilis could be said to have the shape of a sitting bear, with the head being the Demon Country; the neck being formed by the great mountain, under which is the dwarven kingdom Tureg, and the crater which forms the Armored Dukedom, part of the Holy Olivedias Kingdom; the torso and the arms of the bear are the Holy Olivedias Kingdom, the country of the humans; in the hands there is Lacet, the frozen country of the ice-wolf beastmen; south of the Holy Kingdom there are the country of the lizardmen, Astall, which is mostly composed of swamps, the great desert and country of the sand-cats beastmen Sithar and the Gredum Empire, which is part of the back, the butt and part of the leg of the bear and is the most multicultural country.”
Lucilla stopped for a moment to take a breath and a sip of liquor.
“Between the Holy Kingdom and the Empire there is Academy City, which was created after the war as a symbol of peace; in the other part of the leg of the bear there is the Lipan plutocracy, also known as ‘the country of merchants’; the foot is the forest country Tae, home of the elves; finally between the hand and the foot there is Tlig, a country which is composed of three great islands and many smaller ones which are the home of the sea-people.”
“I see…now I know why there are almost no wars in this world.”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s thanks to the existence of many races, particularly it’s thanks to the demons.”
“How can it be thanks to the demons when they are the ones that wage war against us the most?”
“I will explain it to you the next time we have a bath.” I said while getting up and going out of the bath.
Lucilla got up too, taking the wooden board, the bottle and the cups.
“I said this would be the only time we bathe together.”
“Then you will have to think about it yourself.”
“You’re mean.”
“I am also a bit drunk, so I will go to sleep now."
I started drying myself with a cloth and then dressed for the night, while Lucilla was sulking.
She didn’t talk to me until we got to my room, where she simply said me “Good night.”
