We were a whole hour away from city by horse when I finally decided to stop near a dense group of trees. I dismounted my horse and tied it to one of the trees, before helping Akiko, who had rode with me, dismount too.
“So? Can we know why we had to come all the way here?” Holiés asked once he had dismounted too.
“Sure,” I said with a smile, “you see, Akiko here has a pretty peculiar skill.”
When I said so, I saw Akiko shy away from me while looking down. Her reaction made Holiés more curious about her, though in his look there was also a bit of disgust towards me.
“It’s not something like ‘nightly activities’, right?”
“Wait! There’s a skill like that?!”
He shrugged. “I only heard about it in some rumors.”
“Oh…” I said, with a disappointed look on my face.
(I should look more into this later…)
“You’re thinking that you should look more into it, aren’t you?”
“I will not lie to you,” I said. I then looked at Akiko and, completely changing matter, I asked her, “you have the oracle skill, don’t you?”
She only nodded in response, not even able to look in my eyes.
“Wait,” Holiés said, “leaving aside the fact that you didn’t answer me -”
“I did not lie to you.”
“Leaving that aside, what’s this about the oracle skill?”
“As I said, Akiko here has the oracle skill,” I said, waving towards the wolf girl.
He raised an eyebrow and said, “that makes no sense, the goddess only gives the oracle skill to humans.”
“Oh, she didn’t get it from your goddess, she was born with it. Am I right, Akiko?”
In response to my questions, once again, she could only nod.
Holiés seemed to immediately come to a realization as he said to Akiko, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
She shook her head and said, “do not worry.”
“Well, now that we have confirmed everything. Akiko, would you like to be my oracle?”
“What?” she said, with a look of disbelief.
“What the hell are you saying? Did you buy her just to make fun of her?” Holiés shouted at me, visibly angry.
I put a hand between me and him and said, “wait, before I continue, I order you two to never talk about what you are about to hear.”
Akiko, once again, just nodded, while Holiés said, “yeah, yeah. Explain.”
“Remember what I did a few days ago? That was something possible only for me, because , in my world, I am the goddess of luck and chances.”
“Yeah, and I’m a boar,” Holiés said, scoffing at me.
Ignoring him, I continued, “for this reason, I ask you, Akiko, would you accept me as your goddess and become my oracle?”
She started mumbling, not knowing what to say, as she definitely didn’t believe me but didn't want to anger her new mistress.
“Let’s put it like this, if you knew for certain that I was a goddess, would you accept?” I said.
“Ehm… yes.”
“That’s good enough for me.”
I released a bit of my power. It was actually much more than I had to release only a few days before to defend against the bandits, but I confided in the fact that, being the duration so short in comparison, my body would have been able to tolerate it. It was still far from the maximum I could release while in a mortal form, after all. Just to be sure, though, I used a portion of that power to keep my body going through holy magic. I wasn’t a long term solution, but it was enough for the few minutes I needed.

Because I released so much of my power, my body started glowing lightly, and two thin strings of light, about three meters long, appeared from my back.
“I, Luck, designate you, Akiko, as my only living oracle.” After saying so, I leaned forward, closed my eyes, and kissed her. At the same time, the two strings of light moved to enter her heart and head.
After only two seconds that seemed to last an eternity, I separated from her, and so did the two strings.
I opened my eyes, and saw that the wolf girl was glowing lightly too. A glow that was quickly subsiding as the short, and relatively informal, ceremony ended.
I [looked] at her and said. “Now I need you to do something for me. Try looking at yourself with your mind. I know it’s difficult at first, but close your eyes and search inside yourself, trying to know more about yourself. When you succeed you should be able to see your status as if you touched a truth stone.”
Akiko nodded and closed her eyes. It was evident that she was putting a lot of effort in it from her face that showed a deep concentration. In the meantime, I kept her status in front of me.

After a few minutes she said, “mistress… I… I can see it.”
“Very well, now think about hiding your oracle skills from others.”
“Y… yes.”
It took her another minute or so, before she finally said, “I… I think I did it.”
And, indeed, her new skills and title now appeared to be hidden, which meant that only gods as powerful as me and their oracles would have been able to see her true abilities.

“Good job, Akiko,” I said, ruffling her hair.
“T… thanks,” she said, with a slight blush on her cheeks.
“Ok, then,” I said facing towards Holiés. “I will now seal my powers again, and I might pass out when i do so. I need you to take us back to the city and find us an inn.”
He put his palm between himself and me and said, “wait, wait, I’m still trying to process what the fuck just happened here.”
“How about we talk about it later? I’d rather not start puking blood for nothing.”
He sighed and said, “I guess that’s fair.”
“Good.”
I sealed back my powers and, the moment I did so, I felt my legs collapse beneath me, but Holié managed to catch me before I hit the ground face first
“Are you ok?” he said, with worry in his voice.
“Yeah.” I nodded slowly. “It’s better than I thought it would be, just throw me on the horse. I think I’ll sleep for a bit.”
“That’s not very godly of you,” he said with a smirk.
“I swear I’m going to actually transform you into a boar.”
“Ok, I’ll shut up,” he said, before picking me up in a princess carry.
I only managed to say, “good,” before falling asleep, still in his arms.
