No matter where he was or how he did it, sleeping had always come easy to Hatsyoudo; So, he wasn’t surprised that it only took him a few seconds to properly sink in to the plush, comfortable sheets of the canopy bed he was given. But weirdly, instead of him enjoying the wonderful feel of sleep, it seemed to last about two minutes before he woke up. As if that wasn’t strange enough, it was morning, the birds were chirping, and the sun was streaming through the gold-plated windows of the Nexus. And sure enough, all the other scholars were awake in the dorm room as well.
“Hello there, Hatsyoudo!” Akane said as she climbed her way out of bed. “I hope you’ve enjoyed your first day here!”
“Akane, leave him alone! He’s probably really tired!” Fumiko said, giving Akane a dirty look.
Aoi was also patiently listening to the situation, before giving her insight.
“You guys argue too much! Every day it’s worse for you two…”
“I canttt stand iiiiiittt!” Egao said, annoyed. “Every time I try to say something Aoi always interrupts!”
Akiko was sitting on her canopy bed, reading a book. She seemed to take no notice of the conversation.
“Well, you have a long day ahead of you,” Aoi explained. “You should probably come downstairs for breakfast.”

As Hatsyoudo was about to find out, Classroom 6A was just one of 250 other classes in the Nexus. Because of this, it was quite a shock for him to see thousands of other Angels In Training all hovering around a mile-long table, tucking into breakfast. Hatsyoudo couldn’t have been more surprised at such an unprocessable sight.
Hatsyoudo was ushered to sit down, and gaze at all of the amazing food that had been placed in front of him. It was then that he realised that he hadn’t eaten ever since he first arrived at the Nexus the day before. And so it was no surprise that Hatsyoudo immediately started eating his food.

“Woah,” Egao said, staring at Hatsyoudo as he ate. “Slow down, your’e gonna choke if you don’t!”
But it was too late; Hatsyoudo had completely finished his meal.

After breakfast, Hatsyoudo was ushered to a classroom of sorts. The only difference was that instead of being overflowed with books, desks and blackboards, there were dummies with target spots painted on their heads, along with pictures of Katanas and Sword-Wielders.
“This is the devil defence class,” Aoi explained. “It’s where we our weapons all go to good use.”
Before Aoi could explain anymore, an old lady appeared in front of them. She carried a longsword, almost identical to Hatsyoudo’s; She also wore a hooded black cloak, along with a stern yet soft look on her face.
“Welcome, class. As you kn—Ah, a new student! Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Madam Arierom, and I’m the teacher of you Devil Defense Club.”
Hatsyoudo nodded enthusiastically, to show he was paying attention.
“Well then! Everyone pull out your weapon—You all better warm up while I walk Hatsyoudo through this!”
Everyone pulled out their weapons; It was only then that Hatsyoudo took notice of everyone else’s weapons:
Aoi carried two Katanas
Akane unsheathed a Rapier
Fumiko took out two Daggers
Ai pulled out dual Shotguns
Egao took out a whip
Akiko unsheathed a Wakizashi Katana.
All Hatsyoudo could do was smile. It was time for him to start training.
