Hatsyoudo Donkai, a brown-haired high schooler with a healthy body and a pure heart, had barely finished writing down his history notes for the day when the unmistakable, Screeching sound of the fire alarm came flooding into his ears. RING! RING! RING!
The sound also seemed to reach Hatsyoudo’s teacher, a tall, slender, lazy woman, who seemed to be caught off guard by the sound. “Strange, I thought the fire drill was on Tuesday! Well, come on, everyone. Line up!”
Despite all of these factors, Hatsyoudo still couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. This was no ordinary fire drill; it didn’t take him long to realize why.
In a matter of seconds after leaving the classroom, smoke started to pour in from the electrical room. That made sense to Hatsyoudo since he knew for a fact that the electrical room of P.S 25 was very poorly managed, but he didn’t have time to fully comprehend this, because suddenly, all his classmates were sent into a panic, all in different ways.
A blur is the only way to describe how Hatsyoudo felt when his high school caught fire. One second, he was learning about the American Revolution; the next, he was fighting for his life as he was joining his classmates in the trek out of the burning building. A mixed bag of emotions, Hatsyoudo desperately fumbled his way around through the smoke that was filling up his lungs. The fire alarm still was ringing in his ear as he tried his very best to keep up with the poorly executed evacuation. Because of the unprecedented amount of smoke that was fuming all over the building, Hatsyoudo was unable to see exactly where he was going. He was simply relying on the sound of his classmate's voices, and the faint shadow of other humans heading toward the dimly lit exits. ‘How will I get out of this,’ Hatsyoudo thought. ‘It feels impossible for me to find an exit!’
Then, when it looked like he was just about to find his way out of the building, a shimmer of hope shone through—It was immediately blocked out as the school’s old structure collapsed from the weakened state of the building. The last thing that poor Hatsyoudo remembered before his life was cut short was the sound of crumbling from the roof. Startled, Hatsyoudo looked up, to find the debris of the school falling on his head. Taking his last breath, Hatsyoudo realised that it was his time to come. And so, he silently ducked his head down as the debris fell on his head, and Hatsyoudo blacked out.

Suddenly, Hatsyoudo started seeing colors of all shades. Green to yellow, yellow to red, red to purple.
Hatsyoudo opened his eyes. He was in a dark, dank room with arches above it. A glass dome hung above it, complete with a golden chandelier. Lights lit up in different colors—green to yellow, yellow to red, red to purple.
But that wasn’t the main thing that made Hatsyoudo’s head spin. Standing over him, fixed with a concerned look on their face, was a young girl around Hatsyoudo’s age. She had light blue hair, light skin, and light blue eyes. She was wearing a grey cloak with a purple undershirt, and a brown skirt to match; She was also wearing white sandals. Hatsyoudo also realized that his clothes had changed: From a light blue T-shirt and black shorts to the same dress as the girl, except his undershirt being white, his sandals being black, and him wearing a grey Phrygian Cap. It reminded Hatsyoudo of the type of hat Link wears in The Legend of Zelda games.

Hatsyoudo couldn't think of any logical conclusion, besides that he was dreaming; He wanted to pinch himself, but he was too focused on the girl to properly adjust.
“Wh-Where am I? Wh-Wh-Wh-Who a-are y-y-you?” Hatsyoudo stammered as the girl helped him up.
The girl took a deep breath as if she was preparing to give a lecture.
“This’ll be a lot to take in…So I’ll start small. I’m Aoi Jakansa; Welcome to the nexus dimension.”
It was only then that Hatsyoudo took a look around at everything around him; In the process of trying to comprehend what had happened, he almost passed out again.
“I’m Dreaming. I’m Dreaming. That’s the only explanation. This is allll a dream. All a dream.”
“This is the Nexus Dimension, the world between heaven and hell.”
Hatsyoudo was so shocked, he stopped stammering. His family was Christian, and he had heard many stories and situations about both worlds. But never, never had he heard of a middle world.
“This might take a bit of listening…”

Hatsyoudo was stuck in the middle world. This world was made by god solely to locate and separate angels and devils into heaven and hell. But it didn’t take long for the devil to hack its way into the dimension, sealing angels from getting in, only giving the secret exit to devils, so he could send in his demons to kill incoming angels, and stopping the income of angels to fight them.
After this incident, god sent in resistance, one that was willing to stay in the Nexus Dimension until the end of time, to set up a school to help angels fight their way out of the dimension, and set things right.

“Ah,” Hatsyoudo started. “That makes sense. So then, what is this room here.”
Aio smiled. “We’re right here in the academy. Now come on, we're gonna meet the other angels!”
Hatsyoudo was ecstatic. “What do they look like?”
“Oh,” Aio said. “They’re like me. No angel here has a halo or wings.”
"How come?"
"Because we haven't been assigned to heaven or hell. People who would go to hell wouldn't have horns or wings either."
"Ah, so it's a mystery who's who. Doesn't that scare you?" Hatsyoudo asked.
"Not at all," Aio started. "I've found the mystery to be our best friend in this war."
