Hayatsu awoke to the voice of an urgent maid waking everyone up at around 6:00 A.M., announcing that every boy had been called down to the main hall for an emergency gathering hosted by Madam Arierom. it was asked that every boy was to put on their soldier uniforms and weapons and make there way down the stairs as soon as they possibly could.
When Hayatsu had finally but on his final boot, he grabbed his sword and made a run for the corridors as he tried his best to keep up with the bustling crowd.
When he finally, got there, he found himself in the exact same situation as a few days ago, with the hallways filled with boys wearing there suits of armor under there dark-grey cloaks.
Hayatsu noticed that Madam Arierom wasn't acting like her usual self; she looked like she was trying to start talking as soon as possible, instead of carefully mapping her words out.
"I am sorry to wake you all up so early in the day," Madam Arierom said. "But the minions invading Ginosulivan have already started moving closer to the Nexus, and the board has decided to send a handful of you away by foot. The rest of you will be shipped around the Nexus today, and be moving into your own estates around the campus. This is to ensure that you all will not be easily discovered if Satan's minions invade the campus. The chosen soldiers for our first mission will be escorted to the Compune Forest to camp out and counter the opposing side. Chosen soldiers will be chosen today."

Hayatsu had a lot of trouble keeping up with everything Madam Arierom was saying, and even the things that did make sense weren't all that clear. He wasn't even sure when the soldiers would be sent away, but he figured that it would get out sooner or later.

After Brunch, Isamu, the five year old boy who first gave Hayatsu his weapon, came to lead Hayatsu off-campus: He had been chosen for the first mission.
Some girls also wanted to help in the aid of the war, and some were chosen as nurses and witches to help heal any of the soldiers or to feed them on their missions. Among these girls were Egao, Akiko, Aoi, and Emma. Hayatsu met them again when he was escorted to the regiment of boys, ready to go to war for the Nexus.

Funnily enough, Hayatsu also ran into Jahseā and Haganezuka. Jahseā was once again drifting off into his own world, so Hayatsu decided to chat with Haganezuka instead(The regiment was given permission to talk why walking on foot).
"Hey, Haganezuka... What do you think about all of this war information going on?"
"Well, I can't say I have too much hope...I mean, we've only had a day to practice. Still, I think that the board made the right decision to send in a wave of boys to start; If you think about it, it really is the only way to guarantee peace in Ginosullivan."
"How do you know that?"
Haganezuka thought for a moment.
"Well, my grandfather was a WWII veteran, back on earth. And I really looked up to him for that. I remember asking him why he would risk his life like that, and without hesitation he answered, 'Son, If you want peace, prepare for war. It was the only way to restore peace for the world, and I regret nothing. Son, keep fighting the good fight, and do it for good reason.'"
Hayatsu was surprised, to say the least.
"You remember all of that?"
"Yeah."
"How old were you?"
"I was two."
"Two?"
"Two. I don't know how I remember it so vividly... But it's the oldest memory I have, and I believe there is a reason for that...."
"I'm going to be honest, Haganezuka, I envy you."
